Gaston's pov
As I looked around the tavern I sighed. I can't believe this. Belle said that she would never marry me. Which meant never in her life. "Picture it LeFou. A rustic cabin. . . my latest kill roasting on the fire. . . adorable children running around us as my love. . . rubs my tired feet." I say happily thinking of the image in my head. Then I frown and start twirling the knife around in my hand. "But what does Belle say? 'I will never marry you, Gaston." I say with frustration in my voice. I see LeFou look over at the bimbettes. "You know there are other girls." LeFou says gesturing over to the bimbettes. I roll my eyes at the girls. "A great hunter doesn't waste his time on rabbits."
I sigh once again. I felt upset and discouraged. I feel LeFou look over at me and start into a song.
🎵Gosh it disturbs me to see you, Gaston
Looking so down in the dumps
Every guy here'd love to be you, Gaston
Even when taking your lumps
There's no man in town as admired as you
You're everyone's favorite guy
Everyone's awed and inspired by you
And it's not very hard to see why 🎵
🎵No one's slick as Gaston
No one's quick as Gaston
No one's neck's as incredibly thick as Gaston
For there's no man in town
half as manly
Perfect, a pure paragon
You can ask any Tom, Dick, or Stanley
And they'll tell you whose team they prefer to be on
Who plays
Darts like Gaston?
Who breaks
Hearts like Gaston?
Who's much more than the sum of his parts like Gaston?
As a specimen, yes, I'm intimidating
My, what a guy, that Gaston🎵
🎵I needed encouragement
Thank you, LeFou
Well, there's no one
As easy to bolster as you
Too much?
Yep!🎵
🎵No one fights like Gaston
Douses lights like Gaston
In a wrestling match
Nobody bites like Gaston
When I hunt, I sneak up with my quiver
And beasts of the field
say a prayer
Aah...
First I carefully aim for the liver
Then I shoot from behind
Is that fair?
I don't care
No one hits like Gaston
Matches wits like Gaston
In a spitting match nobody spits like Gaston
I'm especially good at expectorating
Ooh!
Ten points for Gaston!
Thank you. Thank you.🎵
🎵When I was a lad I ate four dozen eggs
Every morning to help me get large
And now that I'm grown
I eat five dozen eggs
So I'm roughly
the size of a barge🎵
👏Hey! Hey!
Hey!
Hey!
Hey!
Hey! Hey!
Hey! Hey! Hey!👏
🎵Who has brains
Like Gaston
Entertains
Like Gaston
Who can make up these endless refrains like Gaston
I use antlers in all of my decorating🎵
🎵Say it again
Who's a man among men?
Who's a super success?
Don't you know?
Can't you guess?
Ask his fans and his five hangers-on
There's just one guy in town
Who's got all of it down🎵
🎵And his name's, G-A-S-T believe there's another 'T'
It just occurred to me
that I'm illiterate
And I've never actually had
to spell it out loud before
Gaston🎵
After the song ends I sit down in my chair and start laughing. "Oh, LeFou, your the best. How is it that no girl has snatched you up yet?" I asked curiously. LeFou looks down at the ground and back up at me. "I've been told that I'm clingy, but I really don't get it." LeFou says sadly. I look at him and then back around the tavern. Then all of a suddenly I hear the tavern door opens aburtly and in walks Maurice. "Please, please. Someone, Someone." Maurice says frantically.

Maurice's pov
As soon as Belle and I got home, I drop off Belle and go out the door. "Papa, where are you going?" Belle ask me curiously. I look over at Belle and back at the house. "I'm going to see if I can find anybody to help us." I say quickly and rush off towards the tavern. As soon as I get there, I'm out of breath. I open the door and walk inside. "Please, Please. Someone, someone. You help. . ." I say quickly to anybody and I'm stopped by the bartender, that owns the tavern. "Whoa, Whoa." The bartender says looking at me worried. I look at the bartender with worried eyes and grab hold of him. "You must help me. It's y/n.
He's got, he's got y/n. She's locked in a dungeon." I say frantically. "Who's got her?" The bartender says curiously. I look at him and then go of him. "A beast! A huge, horrid monstrous beast!" I yelled out. Everyone in the tavern starts laughing at me. "My daughter's life is in danger. Why do you laugh? It's not a joke. His castle is hidden in the woods. It's already winter there." I say with certainty in my voice.
"Winter in June?" Monsieur Jean says with a laugh. "Crazy old Maurice." Clothide says with a ridiculous smile. I wanted to so badly slap that stupid smile off of her face. "Listen to me!" I yelled at both of them. "The beast is real. Do you understand?" I say with frustration in my voice. I can't believe this, all the people are doing is laughing about y/n's life being in danger. "Will no one help me?" I asked once more looking around at all of the people. "I'll help Maurice." A deep voice says. I turn towards the voice and see Gaston.
He's standing up and walks towards me. "What? You will?" LeFou says curiously. This should be interesting. "Everybody. . . stop making fun of this man at once." Gaston says gesturing over towards me. I walk over to him and grab him gently. "Captain, thank you." I say kindly to him. Gaston shakes his head like it's no big deal. "Don't thank me, Maurice. Lead us to the beast." Gaston says gesturing to the door. I nod my head in determination and gesture for him and LeFou to follow. "Come."
I say and I start heading for the door. "Hmm. Oh." LeFou says curiously.
Y/n's pov
As the days went by in the castle, it started to feel as if it was getting lively and warm. Even when it was dark and gloomy. Most of the time I spent my day either in the library with Adam or outside with Adam read to him. My leg is all healed now thanks to Adam. But when we went outside to see y/h/n, Adam would stand a few ways away from her/him. I didn't get it. What was he afraid of? Is he afraid of horses? If he is afraid horses, then why is he. One day, me and Adam were walking outside in the snow and I thought of y/h/n. That's when the question came from. "Adam, why don't you like y/h/n?" I asked curiously to see what his answer would be. Adam stops for a moment and looks over at me. My e/c eyes are sparkling with excitement for an answer. Adam clears his throat and thinks of what to say to me.
"Well, my best friend and I were riding horses together and they fell off and broke some important bones." Adam says slightly nervous. I giggle a little at Adam's facial expression. It was so hilarious. Adam frowns at me thinking that I'm laughing at his best friend for falling off a horse and breaking some bones. "No! I'm not laughing at your best friend. I'm laughing because of your facial expression." I said holding in my laughter. Adam smiles at me and starts to walk again. "I suppose it is a little funny." Adam says with a chuckle. I couldn't believe it, Adam is actually laughing. But it was only a smile laugh. I smiled at this and walked with Adam. "Is your best friend the one in the pictures in your room?"

I asked curiously. Adam looks over at me and nods his head yes. "Yeah, she is." Adam says with a smile. I look at his face and see a huge grin on it. I wonder who his friend is. Have I met her before? I don't think so. Then I get an idea. I grab Adam hand and pull him along with me. "Where are we going?" Adam ask. I look at him and smile. "You'll see." I say with joy in my heart.
Gaston's pov
"No! I'm sure this is the way. Do you hear those wolves? That means we're getting very close to the castle." Maurice says gesturing around us. I growled silently to myself. We've been out here almost all night and I was starting to get cold. I sighed once again and looked straight ahead. "Look, enough is enough. We have to turn back." I say to Maurice. Then Maurice automatically starts yelling at me. "Stop! That's it! That's the tree! I'm sure of it.
It was downed by lightning at the time. But now. . . it's upright position. . . through some sort of. . . magic or other." Maurice says to us. I was growing really tired of Maurice's game and wondering where y/n was. "You really want to marry into this family?" LeFou says quietly to me so Maurice can't hear us. I roll my eyes at LeFou's question. Of course, I want to marry into this family. Even if it means being with Maurice. "So, that means. . . that the castle is that. . . No. No, it's. . . That way. Definitely that way." Maurice says point toward the covered forest that leads to nowhere. I get down from the carriage and walk towards Maurice. "I am done playing this game of yours. Where is y/n?"
I say trying to keep my temper from rising. Maurice looks at me and back at the tree where a path is suppose to be. "The beast look her and she. . ." Maurice say but I cut him off. "There are no such things as beasts. Or talking tea cups. Or magic! But there are wolves, frostbite, and starvation." I say a bit angry at Maurice. I hear LeFou stand up from the carriage in the back and look at me. "Deep breaths, Gaston. Deep breaths." LeFou says gesturing to me to do them. I breathe in deeply and relax a bit. "So, why don't we just turn around? And go back to Villeneuve. I'm sure y/n is at home, just now coming back from Paris."
I say looking Maurice square in the eye. Maurice looks at me with a weird look and back at the woods. "If you think I've made this all up. . . then why did you offer to help me?" Maurice ask curiously. I growl in frustration, Maurice was making me upset and I'm trying to be as nice as I can. "Because I want to marry your younger daughter." I yell in an abruptly outburst. Maurice was shocked for a minute and looks at me confused. I huff in annoyance and look at Maurice. "Now, let's go home." I say and turn back towards the carriage. "Y/n is not at home. She is with the. . ." Maurice says but I quickly turn around and grab onto Maurice's jacket. "If you say beast one more time. . . I will feed you to the wolves!" I yell out in anger. LeFou quickly goes into action and grabs ahold of me.
"Gaston! Stop it! Breathe! Think happy thoughts. Go back to the war. Blood. Explosions. Countless widows." LeFou says gently trying to calm me down. I smile at the thought of the war and all of the countless widows. "Widows." I say with a smile. Then LeFou smiles at me and nods his head yes. "Yes. Yes. That's it.
That's it." LeFou says and touches my nose gently with his finger. LeFou turn me around and I see Maurice. "Maurice. Please forgive me, old bean. That's no way to talk to my future father-in-law. . . now is it?" I say kindly to Maurice gently grabbing his shoulders. Maurice looks at me with a sour look. "Future father-in-law?" Maurice ask curiously. I nod my head yes and smile. "Yeah!" I say. Maurice shakes his head no and gives me a stern look. "You will never marry my daughter. Not even Belle."
Maurice says with knowing look. I growl in annoyance and curl my fist in anger. I swing and punch Maurice right in the face. He falls to the ground and I wipe my nose. "I saw that coming." LeFou says with a knowing tone. I grab some rope from the carriage and drag Maurice towards a big tree. "If Maurice won't give me his blessing... then he is in my way. Once the wolves are finished with him… Y/n and Belle will have no one to take care of them but me." I say tying off the rope and jumping into the carriage. LeFou look over at Maurice and back at me. "For the sake of exhausting all of our options… do we maybe wanna consider a slightly less… gruesome alternative?" LeFou says looking at me. I roll my eyes and give LeFou a look. "Are you coming?" I ask.
LeFou nods his head yes and gets in the back. I flick the reins on the horses and turn around going back to Villeneuve.
Y/n's pov
As soon as we get to the stables, I see y/h/n. I walk over towards her/him and grab ahold of her/his reins and walk her/him over to Adam. "Y/n, I don't think I can do this." Adam says with a bit of worry in his voice. I nod my head yes in encouragement and smile at Adam. "Yes, you can. I know you can." I say with a smile. Adam looks into my e/c eyes. I know he can see the determination in them. Adam looks over at y/h/n and walks quickly towards her/him. Y/h/n snorts out loud and Adam backs up a few feet looking at y/h/n weirdly. I go over to y/h/n and whisper to her/him and pet her/him y/h/h/c hair gently. I take Adam's hand and slowly put it on y/h/n's neck. Adam looks over at me and smiles. I let go of his hand and walk away from them. I pull my red hood over my h/l h/c hair.
And a song begins.
🎵There's something sweet
and almost kind
But he was mean and he was coarse and unrefined
And now he's dear and so unsure
I wonder why
I didn't see it there before🎵
I got to the top of the stairs and grabbed some snow from the stairwell. I roll it into a snowball and throw it right at Adam. As soon as the snowball hits him he looks around in shock wondering who did that. I laugh at this. And what I don't see is Adam making a big snowball and throws it right at my face. My smile is wiped off immediately and I fall to the ground. I hear Adam laugh to himself.
🎼She glanced this way
I thought I saw
And when we touched
She didn't shudder at my paw
No, it can't be
I'll just ignore
But then she's never looked at me that way before🎼
Adam walks over towards me at the dinner table and sits beside me. I start eating my soup, but then I realized that Adam hasn't even touched his soup. Then I realized that he didn't want to put his face in his bowl. That would be rude. I put my spoon down and grab my plate and put it to my lips to see if he would copy. And he did. I smile at him and give a laugh.
🎵New, and a bit alarming
Who'd have ever thought that this could be
True that he's no Prince Charming
But there's something in him
That I simply didn't see 🎵
🎶Well, who'd have thought?
Well, bless my soul!
Well, who'd have known?
Well, who indeed?
And who'd have guessed
They'd come together on their own🎶
🎶It's so peculiar
Wait and see
We'll wait and see
A few days more
There may be something there
That wasn't there before
And here's a thought...
Perhaps there's something there that wasn't there before🎶
"What, Mama?" Chip ask curiously.
🎶There may be something there
That wasn't there before🎶
"What is it? What's there?" Chip ask curiously once more. Mrs. Potts looks at Chip and thinks for a moment. "I'll tell you when you're older." Mrs. Potts says with a smile. Chip moves around on his saucer a couple of times and back at his mom. "Okay, I'm older!" Chip says with determination in his voice. Mrs. Potts laughs and looks at her son. "Chip… You are a one." Mrs. Potts says happily.
Adam's pov
I was sitting in the garden reading King Arthur and the Round Table when suddenly I heard y/n voice. "What are you reading?" Y/n ask curiously. I look up and quickly shut the book. "Nothing." I says quickly. I didn't want y/n to know I was reading a romance book. Y/n smiles knowingly and sits down beside me. "Guinevere and Lancelot." Y/n says with a beautiful smile. She looks over at me and in her e/c eyes you can see she's asking me if she's wrong. "Well, actually. . . King Arthur and the Round Table. Knights and men and swords and things." I say trying to weasel my way out of not telling her it was a romance. "Mmm. Still. . . it's a romance."
Y/n says with a knowing look. I sigh, she always gave me that look even when we were little. I remember it so well. "All right." I say with a smile. Y/n smiles with pride then looks over at me. "I never thanked you for saving my life." Y/n says with an appreciative gesture. I smile and nod my head in kindness. "Well, I never thanked you... for not leaving me when you passed out." I say with certainty in my voice. I soon hear the servants running around and laughing. I look to where the noise is and it's in the castle. "They know how to have a good time." Y/n says looking over at where the servants were laughing. "Yes.
But when I enter the room, laughter dies." I say with a certain tone in my voice. I look around the garden and then hear y/n agree with me. "Me too. The villagers in Paris say that I'm a funny girl… but I'm not sure they mean it as a compliment." Y/n says with a small smile. What? How could anybody think y/n is funny girl? I mean look at her, she is smart, beautiful, kind, and sweet. Along with her h/l h/c hair and e/c eyes that spark when the snow hits her eyes. "I'm sorry." I say. Y/n shrugs her shoulders like it's no big deal. "Your village in Paris sounds terrible." I say to y/n. Y/n giggles a little and looks at me.
"Almost as lonely as your castle." Y/n says gesturing to the castle. I look at the castle and back at her. Then I get an idea. "What do you say we run away?" I ask y/n curiously. Y/n looks at me confused and I grab her hand and we sneak into the castle and go into the library.

8 182The Vorrgistadt Saga - Archives (2015-2018)
The world of Aelth Myrris is dying; the world-god is in her death throes. This was not caused by rampant environmental devastation, the fall-out of some cataclysmic war, nor a random happenstance of celestial events. This act of murder was entirely intentional and caused by capricious and hidden entities even more powerful than the gods themselves. The many groups that call the world-god Myrris home have been abandoned. Once proud societies are crumbling into ruin and barbarity as those with ambition vie to seize what few bits of fading power they can. Amidst this tumult, there are still some stories to be told about those few who cling to life wanting more than power and trinkets. This is the saga of those few who hope for a better future. Those few who defy the hidden entities that devour their world. Those few who refuse to be the pawns of fate.
8 71The Normal Dungeon Core: Lethe
Just a normal, standard, no extra frills or gills, dungeon core LitRPG novel in a fantastical world. And as usual, a system exists! Prologue: You know all those stories about reincarnation? Where our beloved (or hated) protagonists are transferred to a new world to conquer, defeat the demon lord, rescue the princess. or are made into mythical gems of power with control over Monsters and Men (psst..a dungeon core)? Where they get a cheat-like ability, are special, granted privileges, or have knowledge from another world? Well, I read about them too in my spare time before I came here. At least, I think I did. Now, you might be asking, where is 'here' ? To answer your somewhat specific, yet vague, question my dear audience...I don't know! But what I do know is that...well nothing other than I had a past life...I think... Anyway...You are correct in assuming that I was indeed reincarnated into a dungeon core! But... ..I have no idea who I was. ...I don't seem to have any special powers or skills or cheats. ....And I was specifically told by Mr. S that I am not, and never will be, "special." Now, if you are confused, then I'm doing a great job, because you probably have no idea what I'm talking about, I haven't given you a background story, or taken you through the last few hours of my new existence. We will get to that! I promise! The main reason I am telling you this absurd and completely delusional preface, is to introduce to you the idea that I, as in me, the new dungeon core, am not "special".............. With that out of the way, how about we rewind time a bit to when I...developed my consciousness? Yes? Great! Lets goooooo! ---------
