《The Hands At My Throat - kiribakukami soulmate AU》Friday back to school

The next day, they had to go straight back to school.
"Aw man! And it's a Friday too!" Kirishima was complaining to Bakugo. "Couldn't they just let us take the day off?"
"You know what mr Aizawa's like," Bakugo replied, wrapping his arm around Kirishima's shoulder.
"Doesn't mean I wanna go."
"Well, were already here, so can't do anything about it now."
Bakugo swoops through the door, letting his arm trail off Kirishima's neck, and sauntering over to the other side of the room where his desk was. Kirishima grinned after him and went to his own desk.
"Hey Mina," Kirishima said, leaning towards her. "Where's Kami?"
She shrugged.
"I think he's staying at the dorms until the quirk wears off. It's getting worse by the day."
Kirishima nodded agreeingly. Kaminari had seemed more and more off as the days passed, so he couldn't exactly blame him.
Mr Aizawa came into the room carrying a fairly sized pile of papers.
"Iida, could you run today's work down to the dorms? Tell him he needs to do it instead of just lying around all day. And be quick." Mr Aizawa handed the papers to the class rep, who stood up and hurried out of the classroom, already turning on his engines.
"Everybody else, open your textbooks to page 325 so we can get started..."
~~~~
Kaminari anxiously flipped through the maths textbook. He had one more worksheet to complete for the day, and then he was done. But he couldn't figure out a single bit of it.
He had been hoping that the textbook would help, but the truth was that he very heavily relied on Mr Aizawa's help during class to get through the activities.
He nervously fiddled with his choker, running his fingers underneath it.
With a sigh, he put down his pencil and gave up. School had already finished 30 minutes ago, and he'd heard a few of his neighbours arrive at their dorms.
But he was hungry, which was making his concentration drop even more. So, after checking the hallway outside his room, he made his way down the stairs as quickly as he could.
He was just about to step into the appearingly empty foyer when he heard Kirishima's voice, near the elevator.
"Man! Mr Aizawa was so strict today! I mean I know we have work to catch up on after the trip but that was a bit harsh!"
"It wasn't that bad." It was Bakugo's grumbling voice that responded.
Kaminari's heart picked up the pace.
"You're just saying that because you're a nerd and you understand everything," Kirishima said, and Kaminari could hear the pout in his voice.
"Don't call me a nerd."
And that was Bakugo for you. Kirishima was his only soft spot. Anyone else had called him a nerd, and they would've been blown up on the spot.
It makes sense, Kaminari thought. They were soulmates after all.
The elevator dinged, the two boys stepped in, and the doors closed behind them again. Kaminari let our a sigh and finally stepped out of the stairwell.
Then he groaned. Of course he had to develop a crush on the one person who already had a-
"Gonna tell me what that was all about?"
Kaminari jumped, whipping around to face the person who had spoken.
"Mina," he breathed gratefully.
Instead of replying, she simply raised an eyebrow
Kami opened his mouth to respond, and reexplain that he would rather not encounter anyone because of this godforsaken quirk, when he realised something.
He shut his mouth again, shuffled towards Mina, and poked her on the cheek.
Nothing. No response. No thoughts swirling through his head, not scattered emotions, no blanketing fear.
"Ha! You cured me!" He exclaimed to a clearly unimpressed Mina.
"Wow go me, now care to explain?"
Kaminari rolled his eyes.
"You know how it is Mina, it's worse around them. And I'm hungry."
With that, he made his way over to the kitchen and poured himself some cereal, then some milk
"Want some?" He offered to Mina, who was turning on the kettle, probably to make some tea.
"Ew no Kaminari I'm not sharing cereal with you you probably charged it or something."
"Rude," he chuckled, before flopping onto the couch.
"I can eat it down here now! How cool is that! Dumb stupid quirk."
Mina laughed. She didn't betray the fact that she'd noticed the shift in Kamis emotions when he'd recognised Bakugo and Kirishima's voices. She didn't know what was going on, but this was deeper than the quirk.
And she was gonna find out what.
"Bakugo man, how do you just get all of this?" Kirishima exclaimed as Bakugo explained how he did a problem for the third time.
"It's fuckin easy that's how. Everyone else is just a fuckin dumbass."
Kirishima pouted.
"That's not very nice Bakubro. Is that really what I am to you? A 'fuckin dumbass'?"
Bakugo didn't skip a beat.
"Yup."
Kirishima sighed and tried the problem again.
Bakugo seemed to hesitate for a second.
"But your my fuckin dumbass, so I guess that puts you above everyone else."
Kirishima grinned, choosing not to take further offence to being called a dumbass.
"Aw Bakubro your so sweet! Am i really your number one?"
"Nah, Almight's cooler than you are. You're number two."
"Hey you don't mean that!" Kirishima playfully pushed at Bakugo.
"Of course I do," Bakugo said, smiling mockingly, pushing Kirishima back.
"So mean," Kirishima sighed. "I guess if Almight's cooler than me, then you wouldn't mind me going back to my dorm now." Kirishima turned his back to Bakugo while picking up his stuff in order to at least try and hide his playful grin.
He was moving quickly and almost out the door when Bakugo finally got him.
"No you don't!"
He felt himself getting grabbed by the shoulders, and he dropped his books in surprise, before getting thrown onto the bed.
He grinned and started wrestling for control.
"You aren't allowed to go anywhere! You haven't finished your quadratics sheet!"
"I'm not going anywhere until you say I'm cooler than Almight!"
"Not happening."
Kirishima managed to push Bakugo off him, and bolted for the door. But before he could fully get off the bed, Bakugo grabbed his ankle, making him trip and hit the floor.
He was just turning onto his back to get up when out of no where Bakugo pounced on him, keeping him on the floor.
"Gotcha."
Kirishima gave up, panting, and then started laughing.
"You're pretty strong for a stick," he pointed out.
"I am not a stick!" Bakugo exclaimed frustrated.
"I could literally wrap my hands around your waist and have my fingers almost touch."
"And your point is?" Bakugo growled.
"You don't weight that much," he said with a grin, grabbing Bakugo by the waist and pushing him off sideways, before sitting up to lean against the bed."
"Yeah well at least I'm not a fucking mammoth," Bakugo replied, picking himself up off the floor.
"So what am I, a fuckin dumbass or a fuckin mammoth?"
"Both. Thick as a rock and heavy as one too."
"Wow the compliments are really pouring out today aren't they?" Kirishima laughed.
Bakugo threw the quadratics sheet at Kirishima with a scowl, signalling for him to continue his work.
"Aww, I love you too," Kirishima said mockingly, leaning over and pecking Bakugo on the cheek, and watching with glee as his face flushed pink.
"Shut the fuck up and work out the next question."
