《The Hands At My Throat - kiribakukami soulmate AU》Aizawa's cabin

After lunch, they got right into the teamwork exercise. Kaminari sighed, because he knew that he'd have to suck it up and deal with being tense the entire time.
Thankfully, when they got put into teams of three, he got put with Tsu and Ururaka, neither of which would bother him.
Or so he thought.
"Hey Kaminari! We have a pretty good team, kero!"
Suddenly, images flashed through his mind, he remembered screaming and shouting and a steady beeping.
"We have a pretty good team today!"
And then he forgot it all again. But his body didn't.
He leant over and covered his mouth with his hand, trying to stop himself from throwing up.
"Kaminari! Are you ok?" Ururaka rushes over to him and puts her hand on his back. Kami steadies his breathing, and when he's sure his lunch is going to stay in his stomach, he stands up straight again.
"Sorry, didn't mean to worry you guys," he chuckles nervously. "Just the quirk acting up again."
By then Tsu has also made her way over. Her presence didn't freak him out, so he figured it had been what she'd said, not her herself.
"If you say so, kero. Just take it easy ok?"
Kaminari nodded. Usually, he would get frustrated about all the pity, but he honestly needed it. If anything, he just wanted this trip to be over and done with already. At least then he could waste away the effects of this stupid quirk at home in his room by himself. Or even just in the dorm room.
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Kirishima sending worried glances over his way, before looking away again.
"Alright kids, we're playing cops and robbers. I'll assign your team as either cops or robbers, and you need to try and complete the appropriate task before the other team!"
Kaminari sighed again, as Aizawa explained that cops would need to 'capture' the robbers, and robbers would need to retrieve certain items around the area.
"Teamwork is key. Going out on your own won't work, and take your teammates' opinions into account. You're a team, not a task force." Aizawa gave a pointed look to Bakugo, which made Kaminari laugh, rather loud in fact.

"Shut it dunce face," Bakugo growled, which only made him laugh again, ignoring the fear that was twisting in his stomach.
"You'll be paired with another team, now let's go."
They all got up and followed their teacher into the forest.
They ended up being paired up with Mina, Tokoyami and Kirishima, which Kaminari wasn't too pleased about.
At this rate, I'm going to start hating Kirishima, he thought sadly. But he couldn't help it, the only thing he could associate with Kiri right now was feeling terrible.
Kirishima gave him a small wave, but Kaminari just looked away. From the corner of his eye, he could see Kiri's smile drop.
I'm sorry Kiri, he thought. I just need to avoid you for a while.

The cops and robbers game couldn't have gone more slowly. Because of his quirk, Kirishima got put on guard duty, while the rest of the team set out to capture people.
He had to forcefully keep them in 'prison', meaning if they tried to escape, he had to physically stop them.
It was training after all.
But when the first person who was brought back was Kami, wrapped in the cocoon of dark shadow, Kiri didn't know what to do. On one hand, he needed to participate in the activity, but on the other hand, Kami simply sent him a death glare, and all he could do was watch as he walked out again.
Surely Kami didn't hate him, right? Kiri realised that this quirk was really messing with him, but that wouldn't have a lasting effect, right?
The thought that Kami might never want to be his friend again sent a pang through his chest.
So instead of dwelling on it, he pushed the thoughts aside, and concentrated on Ururaka being dragged into base by Mina. He'd have to stay close to her, in case she tried to float herself away.
So he focused on guarding Ururaka, leaving no room for any other thoughts.

"Alright kids, you worked hard today, good job," Mr Aizawa announced at the end of the activity.
They headed back to 'Aizawa's cabin' for a debrief, which was actually technically an office, but there was a door off to the side which had been assigned to Aizawa for him to sleep in, so they just called it Aizawa's cabin.

"Come on Kami, we need to go inside," Mina tried to convince him, but he refused to move.
"Kamiiiiii," she whined, leaning against him and pushing, but he dug his heels into the dirt.
"Nope. I'm not going in."
"Everyone else has already gone in Kami, we're gonna get in trouble."
Kaminari understood that, but no matter how much he tried to will himself to move forward, his feet wouldn't move.
"The only way you're getting me in there is if you carry me," he stated.
"Fine then," she huffed, storming into the cabin.
Kaminari thought he was safe, but she came out of the cabin again before he could scamper off. And she was dragging someone behind her.
"Hiiii Sato... what's up?" He said casually, hoping that maybe he could get out of this.
No such luck.
Instead of responding, Sato just picked him up by the waist and threw him over his shoulder. Kaminari tried to squirm out of his grip, but he couldn't manage to.
"Satooooooo! Let me down!"
"Aizawa needs to talk to you too Kaminari, and he's not going to repeat himself."
So Kaminari got dragged into the cabin, trying to ignore the rising panic in his chest, but still wriggling around.
"Sato, you can let him down you know," a voice said from behind Kami. He twist his neck to see who it was, and wasn't happy with who he saw.
"Just fuck off already Kirishima!" He screamed, and more in fright than anger, already fuelled by the panic that the cabin caused, he kicked him right in the face.
Kirishima stumbled back, the kick having surprised him. He looked confused for a second, before reaching up to feel that his nose was bleeding.
"Stay away from me! Get me out of here! Let me go!" If Kaminari had been more aware of his surroundings, he would have noticed Bakugo approaching, furious.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU DUNCE FACE. KIRI IS YOUR FRIEND AND HES TRYING TO HELP YOU AND YOU KICKED HIM IN THE FACE."
Kaminari stopped moving, his eyes wide. It was happening. He didn't know what it was, but whatever it was that made him freak out about this building was about to occur.
He didn't get much further into the thought until Bakugo created a huge explosion, aimed directly and Kaminari and Sato.
"Bakugo!" Sato called out, jumping to the side to avoid the explosion.
"PUT HIM DOWN BIG LIPS IM GONNA DESTROY HIM."
Kaminari looked around frantically as Sato dropped him. He saw Aizawa looking bored, waiting for the fight to finish like it usually did. But it wasn't going to.
Bakugo created another explosion, letting out a roar. Kirishima was grabbing his shoulder, telling him to stop and holding him back, but Bakugo pulled himself out of his grip. He was blind with rage.
"Didn't know Kiri meant this much to you Bakugo. Could've fooled me!" Kami mocked.
What a bad idea. He knew it was a bad idea the second it came out of his mouth, but he said it anyway. He couldn't help it. Humour was his coping mechanism.
Bakugo roared again, and sent his biggest explosion yet. Kaminari's entire body told him to get out of there. So he did. He sprinted to the door and quickly forced himself through, slamming it behind him.
He was safe.
But as his memories caught up to him, he finally realised why he was so scared of this building.
As he stepped away from the door and turned around, he realised that Bakugo must've blown a beam or something in that last explosion. An important beam.
He heard a loud creak.
And right in front of his eyes, he saw the roof of the cabin begin to crack and fall. And as the heavy wooden logs that formed the roof caved in on his classmates, all he could do was watch.
