《The Hands At My Throat - kiribakukami soulmate AU》The next morning

"Oi, Kiri, wake up."
Kirishima groans and rolls over on his bed, turning his head to face away from the wall, before opening his eyes.
"G'morning to you too Bakubro," he rolls his eyes, voice crackling.
Bakugo just rolls his eyes in return.
"Just get up. Breakfast is being prepared, and people are gonna be pissed if you just walk in when it's done without helping."
Instead of responding, Kirishima stretches, letting out another groan that turns into a yawn.
"Yeah yeah, I'm coming." He jumps off the edge of the bed, causing the wood to creek, and then starts getting changed, before noticing someone's presence.
"You just gonna sit there and watch?" He asks playfully, watching Bakugo's face bloom red.
"I'll be out soon, you can go ahead," he says, even though Bakugo was already storming out of the cabin, looking down at the ground to hide the blush that Kiri had already seen.
It's not like they hadn't seen each other getting changed before. Bakugo had probably just slipped back into the habit of simply waiting until they were finished. But due to recent developments, it was suddenly much different. In a way that Kiri could tease Bakugo for, in a way that would actually cause Bakugo to become embarrassed.
If Kirishima still had any doubts that Bakugo could actually like him in that way, they were all erased with that one action.
Bakugo had a crush on him.
One of the funny thing about soulmates was that, even though you had a set person who would be perfect for you, you could still develop romantic feelings for someone who wasn't determined as your soulmate. These feelings were called crushes. It was kind of like, if you met someone who had a really similar personality to your soulmate, your brain would mistake them, and you'd develop a crush. Most people just kept them hidden, although there were those people that you saw on the news who thought soulmates were dumb, and would date people who weren't their soulmates.
The whole thing was rather complicated, but basically, romantic feelings don't develop overnight. Which meant that before this, Bakugo had had a crush on him.
Bakugo had a crush on him.
He couldn't even say anything, and he just watched Bakugo slam the door behind him.

Instead of reacting to this new information like a normal person, Kirishima instead burst into laughter, by himself in the cabin.
Bakugo was certainly pretty good at keeping secrets.
He quickly got changed before rushing outside.
"Hey!" He calls, "where do you want me to help!"
"I think Tsu needs some help with the eggs," Todoroki says in his monotone, not even looking up from his chopping board.
"Cool, thanks bro!"
They finished up cooking, and everyone served themselves for breakfast. Kirishima grabbed his meal and went to sit next to Bakugo.
The entire class was engaged in a discussion on what was gonna happen that day, when Kirishima noticed that Bakugo had shuffled a little bit closer to him.
"Aw, just can't keep away from me can you Bakubro?"
Bakugo sneers, turning pink.
"I can go sit somewhere else if your gonna be like this," he growls, baring his teeth.
"Noooooo, Bakugo you cant leave meeee," Kirishima whined, wrapping his arms around Bakugo's shoulders.
Bakugo leant away, pushing Kirishima's head away and trying to wriggle his way out, all the while still pink in the face.
"Fine shitty hair, I'll stay, just let go of me you dumbass."
Kirishima let go of Bakugo and beamed at him. Bakugo tutted and glanced away, but he was wearing a happy smirk.
"Thso, Kaminari, How waths sleeping with the girlths?" Kirishima heard Mineta say from somewhere nearby.
"Fuck off Mineta, nothing happened. I don't wanna talk to you anyway."
"What?! But dude, we're partnerths! You can juthst leave me like thiths!"
"I can, and I did. Give it a rest."
"Awww, Kamis staying true to his word!" Mina yelled gleefully, launching upon Kaminari into a hug from behind. "I'm so proud of you!"
"Yeah, Yeah, I did promise. Also I owe you guys anyway."
Kirishima noticed that his voice was monotone, tired, and when Kami turned around, he saw bags beginning to form under his eyes. He looked like shit.
"Kami! Dude! Are you ok?" He called out, but when they made eye contact, Kaminari looked away.
"Sorry guys, Kamis having a rough time right now. You know that quirk thing? We've figured it's better if he just hangs out with the girls, we seem to be giving him less trouble."

Kirishima looked at the ground. He didn't like seeing Kaminari like that, but remembering the way he reacted yesterday, there wasn't really much he could do right now.
"Less trouble?"
Mina looked to her side uncomfortably.
"Well, he says that he's fine, but I think just being around anyone freaks him out. Just you two are worse. Only thing that freaks him out as much is Aizawa's cabin, but God knows why."
Kirishima sighed as she continued.
"He says that he slept better after he rocked up to our cabin at like 1 in the morning, but I doubt that's the case. It was just enough to get him to calm down. Poor guy."
Kirishima nodded solemnly. This was day two and this quirk, or at least it's after affects, lasted a week. That might be an exact number, it might be an average, it might just be an estimate. But it was still going to be a hell of a long time for Kaminari.
~~~~
After breakfast they got right into combat training. Bakugo suspected Kaminari had talked to Mr Aizawa, because he only fought against the girls, and Ojiro.
He didn't win a single fight.
Of course, at the start of their first year, Kaminari hadn't been too spectacular at fighting. He was actually pretty good, but to 1A standards, he had a rocky start at combat standards.
If Bakugo had been watching that same Kaminari fight, the one from ages ago, he wouldn't have been surprised at the poor outcome. But Kaminari was better now. With the minimal control he had developed, he could shoot electricity multiple times in a fight without short circuiting. Now all that control seemed to be thrown out the window.
But he couldn't focus on that now. He was in the middle of a fight with Kirishima.
It was really annoying, Kirishima's quirk. He was the only person who was left completely undamaged by his explosions. A quick harden, and all of a sudden Kirishima was impossible to beat. And engaging with him with his fists was literally like punching a rock. The only way he could win was for Kirishima to leave an opening.
He blasted another large explosion at him, but as usual, when the smoke cleared, Kirishima was standing in the same place, feet firmly planted on the ground.
Bakugo roared in frustration, and let off more explosions. Maybe if he managed to produce a big enough shockwave, he could at least knock him off his feet. But Kirishima just lowered his centre of gravity and stood firm.
"DAMN YOU SHITTY HAIR JUST GIVE UP ALREADY!" Bakugo was getting frustrated, the same way he got every time he fought Kirishima. Fighting and evading him was easy, but defeating him was near impossible.
He stopped releasing explosions and rested for a second, panting and watching the smoke clear out. Which was a mistake.
The second he let his guard down, Kirishima came roaring out of the smoke. He charged right into Bakugo, knocking him over and slamming him to the floor, before he hardened his arm into jagged spikes and pushed it against Bakugo's neck. He leant forward until Bakugo could feel his breath on his face.
"Gotcha," he whispered, grinning like a loon, as they both sat there, panting.
Bakugo wanted to be angry and Kirishima, yell at him for cheating or something, but his face was so close that he couldn't help but get flustered instead.
"Yeah yeah, whatever. I'll beat you next time," he growled, trying to move. But Kirishima was built like a rock, even when he wasn't using his quirk, so he couldn't do anything but bend a little bit.
"You say that every time, but you never do, Bakubro," he laughed, removing his arm from his neck and sitting up straight.
"Whatever you say, now get off dumbass."
Kirishima pretend to pout.
"And here I was thinking you actually remembered my name Bakubro. I'm hurt."
"Whatever, now get off me! And don't call me Bakubro, it's weird now."
Kirishima grinned.
"Only if you say please."
"I'm not saying please."
"Then I'm not getting off."
Bakugo glared at him, but Kirishima's grin just widened.
Bakugo sneered, then looked away and mumbled something.
"What's that Bakubro? I didn't hear you."
"I said can you please get off me, you dumbass."
Kirishima grinned even wider.
"Sure can babe," he said, before quickly leaning down and pecking Bakugo's nose, then jumping off him and sprinting away as fast as he can.
"FUCK YOU SHITTY HAIR!" he yelled, jumping up and rushing after him, and hoping that everyone took his red face as fury.
Needletongue, Carrotcake
The world isn't fair. If anything, the inherent injustice of the world is what separates it from the fiction we so adore. Luis Freighthold knew this all too well, and that was why it took a bit longer than it should have to realise when he suddenly had everything he could ever have wanted. Raised in a working-class single-father home, Luis had no other escape than fiction. Specifically, vampire stories of varying quality and genre. There was something appealing about the ability to fly, turn into shadows and become smoke. Danger. An unfamiliarity with the social world that rejected him so. Was it so wrong for him to hope for a different life? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, now he had it—a lust for blood and abilities beyond the understanding of civil man. Could you really say that he had anything left to complain about? A vampire story following an unconventional vampire boy forced to accept that maybe becoming a vampire doesn't magically solve all your problems. As a matter of fact, it might just make a whole bunch of them even worse. Regardless, Luis is prepared to try everything to live up to the vampire books he had previously gorged on. What did it matter that his vampire form had no teeth, replaced instead by a long, needle-tipped tongue? He was still a vampire, wasn't he?
