《The Demon King (The Demon King, #1) - Completed》Chapter 43 - Dead End

"Isabella!" I heard Dimitri yell my name angrily from his room as I ran. I actually couldn't believe I just did that. Like what was I thinking? He was so going to kill me.
I ran into my room, slamming the door shut and resting myself against it. My heart was beating really fast and my breath was coming out slightly heavier. I laughed to myself at what I just did. I remember watching this exact same thing unfold in a movie. I never thought I'd ever re-enact it. I couldn't believe I did that. If my friends back home found out I did something like this, they'd think I was a whole other person, considering I'm a virgin and plan to stay one until I'm married. They'd be more than shocked. I was more than shocked myself too.
I decided to go take a shower and change into my pjs since I was still wearing my normal clothes. Ten minutes later, I was done and ready to go to bed. I wanted to go and sleep beside Dimitri, but I was kind of scared to go back because I'm sure he was still very angry at me for what I did.
Taking the chance, I decided to go back. Once I had reached his closed bedroom door, I took a deep breath and slowly opened it. I peeked inside and noticed him not there.
Suddenly his bathroom door opened and he walked out in only a towel, his muscular torso on full display and his hair damp. It seemed he had taken a shower as well. Once he noticed me, I grinned trying to look all innocent.
"You are so paying for what you pulled, Isabella!" He growled out, causing me turn around and run. I heard him start to run after me. What was scary was that he could easily catch up to me with his demon speed but for some reason he was letting me get away.
I ran down the stairs, glancing behind me to find him really close to getting to me, causing me to let out a scream and pick up my pace. I heard him chuckle and now I knew why he was letting me get ahead. He was finding it amusing watching me run away like this.
"You're finding this amusing aren't you? Watching me run away from you. That's why you haven't caught me yet!" I yelled back, a little breathless, as I made all sorts of crazy turns to confuse him.

"That and because you have a really nice ass." He said causing me to gasp.
"Stop staring at my ass!" I yelled back as I made some more turns, hoping they'd confuse him.
"That's impossible Izzie." He said, his voice coming not too far from behind me. I suddenly took a right turn and came to a complete dead end, causing me to mentally curse. This hallway was a few metres long and at the end was a window. Why the heck would there be a hallway with nothing in it? Who designed this castle? I'd like to know so I can bash their head in.
I stood at the very end of the hallway and turned around to find Dimitri standing at the other end with an evil smirk on his face, causing me to gulp in nervousness. "Well, well, well my sweet Izzie, looks like you've hit a very nice dead end." He said chuckling. "You can't escape me now." He smirked as he slowly made his way towards me. I noticed him still wearing his towel and was a bit surprised that it hadn't fallen off while he had been running. Not that I was hoping it would have.
I wracked my brain for ways to get away from him because I really didn't want to know what kind of revenge he had in mind. "What are you going to do?" I quickly asked, stalling for some time.
"Planning on punishing you a little, that's all." He said winking causing me to gape at him in shock.
"You can't be serious right now! Are you seriously into that?" I asked in surprise causing Dimitri to laugh.
"Wow Isabella, I think your mind's wandering a little too far." Dimitri said chuckling at me as I blushed. Now he was going to think I was some sort of freak or something. "But we can totally do all that, if you're up for it." He said, sending me another wink causing me to gasp.
"You're insane!" I exclaimed causing him to chuckle again.
"Only for you Izzie." He said grinning. "And besides, you were thinking it."
I felt really embarrassed for thinking that, especially since he wasn't actually thinking about... sexually punishing me. But honestly, where were all these thoughts suddenly coming from? Dimitri was really messing with my brain.
"Shut up!" I exclaimed before yawning, causing him to grin even more.

"We should go to sleep now, it's getting really late. I wouldn't be surprised if we woke everyone up." Dimitri said causing me to relax as he wasn't going to do anything anymore, I was guessing.
We started walking back to Dimitri's room since it really was late now. "Don't think I'm not going to get revenge for what you did Isabella. Because I'm still going to. What you did was absolutely cruel. More evil than me killing humans." Dimitri causing me to raise an eyebrow at him.
"Killing humans is worse." I stated causing Dimitri to shake his head in disagreement.
"First of all, it's not evil when you have no choice and when you wish you didn't have to, but are forced to. And second, you have absolutely no idea how it felt when you did that and then just ran away after that. I thought I was going to go absolutely insane when you ran off. You better not pull a stunt like that ever again, or else." He sounded serious now, causing me to nod my head in understanding.
Once we reached his room, I walked in with Dimitri behind me. "I can't believe your towel is still on after all that." I said as I got on the bed and settled myself underneath the covers.
"If you wanted me to take it off, then you should have just asked." He said as he suddenly threw his towel off, causing me to gasp and immediately look away.
"Dimitri!" I exclaimed causing him to laugh at my reaction.
"It's okay if you want to look Isabella. I promise I won't tell." He was teasing me now. I honestly couldn't believe this was the same Dimitri as the one I first met him here in Rovana. I remember Dimitri was so tense, uptight and angry all the time. But now he was so carefree. The thought made me feel really happy, knowing it was because of me.
"You're so annoying. Now go put your pj's on!" I exclaimed causing to him to chuckle.
"It's okay because you love me." He said as he went into his closet to find some pj pants.
"No, I don't love you. I used to, but not anymore. Sucks I know." I replied sarcastically.
He suddenly came out, pants on, with a scared and hurt look on his face. "Wait what?" He said as he earnestly walked up towards me. "You don't love me anymore? Is it because I was annoying you? Isabella, I promise I'll stop! Whatever that's bothering you about me, I'll do everything to stop, to change it if it's possible! Please, I don't want to lose you!" He quickly said getting on the bed and grabbing my hand, sounding really worried that I was going to leave him.
It was so cute how scared he was of losing me. But I felt really horrible for saying what I did, even if it was supposed to be a joke. "Dimitri, I was just kidding." I said as I reached up and stroked the side of his face with my right hand. "Of course I love you. I love you more than anything. Don't ever think I don't." I said causing him to let out a sigh in relief.
He suddenly pulled me into a hug which I immediately returned. "You scared me!" He exclaimed causing me to apologize as I lightly stroked his bare muscular back. "It's okay, just please don't do that again." He said causing me to nod my head.
He pulled away, and settled himself underneath the blanket. He then opened his arms for me to get into. I crawled up to him, resting my head on his bare chest and wrapping my arms around him. He wrapped his arms around my waist before reaching over to turn the lamp off.
"If I ever do anything that you don't like. I want you to tell me so I stop, okay?" He whispered causing me to nod my head.
"I want you to tell me too Dimitri." I said, looking up at him in the dark even though I couldn't see him. Because I knew he could see me.
"There's nothing I'd want you to do differently. You're perfect." He said causing me to smile.
"I'm far from perfect Dimitri. I'm stubborn, annoying, rude, opinionated, a complete bitch basically." I listed off on my fingers.
"And those are all the things I love about you. Even your bitchiness." He said, causing me to shake my head in amusement.
"Go to sleep Dimitri! Tomorrow we have work to do." I said.
"Goodnight Isabella." He said before kissing my forehead.
"Goodnight Dimitri." I said, with a smile on my face.
