《The Demon King (The Demon King, #1) - Completed》Chapter 26 - Come On Baby

Once I had some clothes on, I came outside the bathroom and slumped down onto Dimitri's couch beside him. I felt upset about Kenneth. How could he say that to me? How could he do that? I understand why he thinks I cheated on him but he should know I'd never do that. He should trust me. But everything's over now. Our relationship completely ruined. If that's how things were going to be like in relationships, then I never want to get into another relationship ever again. It hurt too much.
"You didn't even love him." Dimitri says, breaking the silence.
"Yes I did!" I exclaim back.
"No you didn't."
"Yes I did."
"No you didn't."
"Yes I did."
"No you didn't."
"Yes I did."
"No you didn't."
"Okay now we're just acting like 12 year olds." I say, turning to look at him with a pointed look.
"Maybe because you are a 12 year old. And you didn't love him." He says.
"Okay honestly, I'm going to smack you if you say that again." I say glaring at him in annoyance.
"You. Didn't. Love. Him." Dimitri said with dramatic pauses between each word, grinning when he was done.
I raised my fist back and punched him as hard as I could on the arm. I quickly regretted it as it hurt me more than it probably hurt him, but I tried to hide that and kept my face neutral. "Ow!" He exclaimed sarcastically in a mocking way. "No need to go all hulk on me."
"I will slit your throat." I growled out angrily.
"Wow, now you're turning into me. Guess you're learning from the best." Dimitri said causing me to punch him again. "Your punches honestly feel like your poking me." Dimitri said annoying me even more.
"Why are you so annoying?" I ask.
"Because you just are." Dimitri said causing me to look at him weirdly.
"That made no sense." I say, raising my eyebrows at him.
"It made perfect sense. You're just dumb." Dimitri said, chuckling when he saw the glare on my face.
"I am not dumb!" I exclaimed smacking his arm again, but more playfully this time. He smiled lightly at me before shaking his head to himself. "It's true!" I said causing him to give me the look. I rolled my eyes at him causing him to chuckle again.
All of a sudden it became really quiet again. Dimitri and I both seemed to be thinking. My thoughts kept jumping from Dimitri to Kenneth and back to Dimitri. I decided to push Kenneth away from my thoughts and focus on figuring out Dimitri. I needed to help him, that was apparent. Not just to help him but to help all of us as that's what Esther said. But I just had one problem. How to do it?
No one was willing to tell me anything. How was I supposed to do anything if no one told me anything?
I had to somehow get it out of Dimitri. I needed him to tell me. Only he could.
That's when a thought occurred to me. His family. Maybe if I told his family that I could help him and tell them what Esther told me, then maybe they'll tell me about Dimitri. But I needed Dimitri to tell me about his family first.
"Dimitri, where does your family live? I've never seen them around the castle." I said breaking the silence between us. Dimitri tensed up once I said that and I regretted it immediately. I looked up at him meeting his angry gaze.

"Who the hell told you about my family Isabella? If you think you can use your knowledge on my family to get things out of me, then you're fucking wrong!" He roared in anger, causing me to flinch. "I don't get why the hell you're so adamant on figuring my life out! If you think you can fix things, you're wrong. So stop trying! And if you speak one word about my family to anyone, I won't hesitate in punishing you!"
He then got up off the sofa and angrily stalked out the room. I stared at the doorway in shock. I was not expecting that outburst at all. And what was he talking about? Did he think I found stuff out about his family?
I got up off the sofa and ran out after him. I knew he was angry but I wasn't going to leave him alone, no matter how much he wanted it. I ran down the hallway and turned right, bumping into something hard. It was Dimitri.
He turned around, placing his right hand on my waist to help me gain my balance. I had grabbed onto his arm, balancing myself. Once I was properly balanced, he let go of me and continued walking away, with the angry scowl still on his face.
"Dimitri, wait and please listen." I said but he just ignored me and continued on walking. I followed after him. "Look Dimitri, I don't know anything about your family so whatever you're hiding is still a secret. I was just wondering about your family. And I'm sorry for being so nosy. I should respect your privacy and I understand that I need to do that. Just, please don't be mad at me." I said quietly, hoping he'd say something.
After a few more seconds of silence, he sighed. "I'm not mad at you. I'm mad at myself."
"Mad at yourself? For what?" I asked but he walked into his office, shutting the door behind him. I sighed and turned back around, walking away.

"Hey Isabella! I was looking for you." Devon called as I walked by the living room. He was sitting on the couch with a notebook in front of him.
"Why? Is something wrong?" I asked as I walked inside and took a seat on the chair.
"No, no. I was just planning a surprise party and I need your help." He said, catching my attention immediately. I love doing surprise parties for people.
"I'd love to help!" I said excitedly. "But who's this party for?" I asked curiously.
"Dimitri. His birthday's coming up soon and I want to plan a surprise party for him. I want all of Rovana in on it. You see, we usually host a party for him every year but he never shows up saying it's a complete waste of time. Every single year I've thrown a party for him, he hasn't shown up. And everyone's always left disappointed. Pretty much every demon in Rovana shows up to this party, hoping to see Dimitri but he never shows up." Devon explained to me.
"People actually like Dimitri?" I asked surprised causing Devon to let out a laugh.
"Isabella, Dimitri is very respected by all the inhabitants of Rovana. He's an amazing King and everyone loves him. Many of the elders say he's better than any of the Kings who have ruled in the past. He's done many great things and made many sacrifices for Rovana. He's pretty damn great. And he deserved this party which he never shows up too. So this time I want to do a surprise party, so he'll have no choice but to attend." Devon explained and I had to say I was quite impressed by Dimitri. Dimitri a better King than anyone before, that's very impressive.

"I was not expecting that at all." I said. "And if his birthday's coming up soon then we better start planning right now." I took his notebook and looked at all the things he already had jotted down.
"Remember Isabella, Dimitri can't come to find out about this, or else he'll lock himself up in his room for the entire night." Devon said and I nodded my head.
"How are we going to invite all of Rovana without having Dimitri know?" I asked curiously.
"We're going to anonymously send out invitations to every inhabitant in Rovana which means we won't be using the castle delivery system. We're going to have to manually do it ourselves, which is going to be a lot of work but it'll be worth it in the end. I doubt Dimitri's going to be chatting with anyone that'll reveal the surprise party to him. Hopefully." Devon said as he jotted a couple more things down in the notebook.
"This plan can so easily fail, you know that, right Devon?" I said, thinking about how Dimitri could overhear people talking about it, or someone could accidentally blurt it out to him. It doesn't even have to be accidentally, it could purposely be blurted out as well.
"I know, but I'm really hoping it won't. I'm going to make sure Dimitri doesn't talk to anyone outside the castle, so hopefully he won't find out. And if he does, then I'm going to try to convince him to come like I always do." Devon said frowning.
"Let's just hope he doesn't find out." I said before I took a look at everything he had jotted down in the notebook, and added my ideas as well.
*****
Once I was done brainstorming ideas with Devon, I walked back upstairs to the room I had before I moved into Kenneth's bedroom. Now I had to go back to sharing a room with Shauna which was just annoying. I decided to ask Dimitri if he was willing to give me another room. Pam already got a room for Thomas which I really needed to thank her for. I really didn't want Thomas to be in the same room as Shauna and I had asked Pam if she could ask Mary to find Thomas one, and she did.
Originally I wasn't going to ask Dimitri to give me another room, but I just can't handle Shauna. She's just so annoying and I'd rather not deal with her, so I'm asking Dimitri to give me another room. And by asking, I mean ordering. I'm getting that room no matter what.
I walked up to Dimitri's room and knocked on his door. He opened after a few minutes with a scowl on his face. "What do you want?" He grumbled impatiently.
"You." I said seriously. "Come on baby, you should know I want you. I've been wanting you since the first day I laid eyes on you."
Dimitri looked surprised at what I said causing me to burst out laughing. I laughed for a good two minutes before I noticed the weirded out and annoyed look Dimitri was giving me. "Sorry, you see, I think I'm funny... When I'm not..." I said receiving more annoyed looks by him. He then slammed the door shut, causing me to flinch in surprise.
"Dimitri." I said knocking on his door again. "Open up, I actually have to ask you something. It's important."
He angrily opened the door looking more pissed then before. "What the hell do you want?" He asked.
"I already told you. I want you." I said, not being able to resist saying it again. Even though, Dimitri has a horrible sense of humour.
Dimitri was about to slam the door again when I stepped in his room, stopping him. "Okay, okay, I'm sorry I'll be serious. I just came to ask you if you could give me another room to stay in, because I'm not sharing one with Kenneth anymore and I really don't want to share one with Shauna. So can I please have one?" I asked, with a hopeful expression.
"Do you really think I'm going to give you another room?" Dimitri said before he grabbed me by my arm, and dragged me out his room.
"Dimitri pleeeeeeeeease!" I said stretching the word out quite a bit.
"No, now fucking leave!" He yelled at me, but I immediately wrapped my arms around him, holding onto him.
"I'm not letting go until you give me another room." I said causing Dimitri to sigh in frustration.
"You're so annoying! How the hell do people even like you? You know, it actually makes sense why you were sent down here to die." Dimitri said, looking down at me with a scowl. I ignored what he said, grinning widely before blowing a kiss up at him, causing his scowl to deepen.
"Let go!" He demanded in annoyance but I stubbornly shook my head. Dimitri groaned in more annoyance.
Dimitri walked back into his room and I walked with him, not letting go of his waist. I knew I was being really annoying. I'd smack me if I was him.
He ignored me for a few minutes before he gave up trying to. "Okay seriously, let go and leave, I'm not giving you another room."
"Nope." I said causing him to groan again.
"Seriously Isabella, leave. I have to take a shower." He said and I shrugged. I knew he was just saying the shower part, to get me to leave.
"Isabella, leave right now. I'm actually serious. I do have to take a shower. Unless you want to see me naked which you probably do, which is the reason why you're not letting go now." He said causing me to blush but I still shrugged my shoulders. If he thinks he can make me let go by saying that, then he's wrong. It's obvious he's just saying that to get me to let go.
But then he actually started walking towards the bathroom. I convinced myself that he was just trying to show me that he was actually going to take a shower, but that he actually wasn't going to.
Once we were inside, he actually grabbed onto his pants and was actually going to pull them off. I immediately let go and turned around, leaving the bathroom, my cheeks blazing with heat, as I heard him chuckle.
"I will get that room Dimitri!" I called back, trying to hide my embarrassment as I left his room in annoyance.

Dungeon games? Yeah, they're a good way to waste a few hours. The trick is to know the map and plan appropriately. Of course, it doesn't matter if you get beaten. You revise your plan for that map and do a bit better next time. Man, it'd really suck to wake up as a dungeon heart in a fantasy world you know nothing about, barely able to even work out how to control your dungeon. Lucky that wouldn't happen to anybody, huh? What with only having one chance at getting things right, you'd have to plan extra-defensive. This story should be getting chapters published weekly. I have a comfortable buffer set up and on top of the weekly writing I am committing, a commissioner has donated two monthly writing slots to ensure this remains on a weekly schedule.
