《epiphany || hp au》2 | west bound train

Upon arriving at the train station, the strong smell of train exhaust filled her nose. She hated it. Danielle and Ana had just taken turns running through the wall at platform 9 and 3/4 and were now waiting around for Regulus and Castor. Castor was a slytherin in her year and her closest friend, there wasn't a single thing she wouldn't do for him. Both being the only child to their respective parents, they really only had eachothers company growing up. But it was enough for both of them.
Ana walked away from her place beside her mother and began walking around looking for him. As she was walking she had her head turned to the right after she caught a glimpse of his dark hair. She smiled a little to herself and picked up her pace in attempt to surprise him before he saw her, but instead ran straight into another person, the impact which sent them both stumbling back. She instinctively reached up to hold her head after the collisions and squeezed her eyes shut in pain, under her breath she muttered, "Oh Merlin."
"Bloody hell"
"Ronald!" She heard a familiar voice scold. She opened her eyes to see Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, two Gryffindors in her year, the Weasley family standing not too far away having their own conversations amongst themselves. "I'm so sorry about him Anastasia, he never looks where he's going."
"No, no, no, it was my fault too. I wasn't looking where I was going either." She quickly explained.
"Yeah alright, bye then," replied Ron quickly before walking away towards Harry who had just appeared through the wall with his own parents. This left Hermione and Anastasia alone, the two who were quite familiar with eachother seeing as they were dorm mates.

"How was you summer Anastasia?" Hermione questioned. "I wrote to you once but I don't think I received a reply."
"It was lots of fun this year, I went back to France to see my grandmother and I actually just got back from Bulgaria!" She replied full of joy, before asking the same question, "and how was your summer?"
"Oh it was-" Hermione began before getting cut off by a hug. Ana watched a shocked expression wash over her face before being replaced by happiness. "Oh goodness, Harry! I was having a conversation"
Hermione was scolding him but her voice held happiness to be reunited with her best friend. Though this did leave Ana in a big of an awkward situation as she was just standing there. She turned her head a little to see Harry's parents standing and talking with Mr. and Mrs. Weasley.
"Sorry 'mione," he said but his voice didn't hold much regret. Harry, not wanting to appear rude, turned and asked, "How are you Anastasia?"
"I'm okay," she replied with a small smile, she didn't speak to Harry often so the conversation felt quiet awkward on her end. "and you?"
"I'm doing good as well," he replied before his mother call his name to say goodbye, then continued "well I'll see you at school then."
Harry walked away, leaving the two girls alone once again. Hermione seemed a little annoyed at his intrusion but nonetheless she smiled and said, "We'll talk tonight at our dorm."
"Brilliant," she said with a smile before turning and walking away.

After realizing just how long she spent talking she realized she had little time to get back to her mother and say goodbye. As she neared her mother, she spotted Regulus' tall stature and immediately knew that Castor would be there waiting as well. She turned back to wave at Hermione one last time before rushing towards and pulling Castor into a hug.

"Stasia!" He laughed a little before returning the hug, with a joking tone he continued, "I was just about to board the train without you."
"Oh ha, ha." She mockingly laughed before turning and hugging her godfather as well. Regulus reciprocated the hug and she stayed at his side while they all talked a little more. The sound of knocking on glass and a voice calling for Castor and Ana brought them out of their conversation, "You guys are gonn a miss the train if you don't hurry and get on the train, like now!"
The voice belonged to no one other than Dawn Allen. A half blood gryffindor than happened to be one of Anastasia's bestfriends. She has a smile on her face that only widened when he saw the two bestfriends parents, "Hi Mrs.Krum, hi Mr.Black!"
"Hi Dawn dear," Danielle replied with a smile before turning to the two kids before her, "Ok you two, behave, be safe, but if you do anything bad just don't get caught."
"Stay out of trouble, we'll hopefully see you all on Christmas break." Regulus added, making sure to emphasize "all" to include the two children's friends. "Love you now, go along before you miss the train."
Anastasia and Castor exchanged a quick hug with both of them before quickly boarding the train. She began looking for the compartment she had seen Dawn in before remembering the absence of her other two friends, "Did you see if Matt, Valentino, or Harper were in the compartment yet?"
"I saw someone sitting down but I couldn't really catch who it was," Castor replied. "Although I think it was Matt, I saw a book on the seat and I know Harper doesn't read."
"Excuse me?" A new voice interrupted. They both turned to see Harper Williams behind them with her trunk in hand, "I'll have you know that I read 2 books this summer, out of my own free will!"
The trio laughed before continuing their journey to find Dawn and Matt. After a few more minutes of searching they found the compartment in between one full of hufflepuffs and another full of slytherins.
"Harper is here and she is making your lives better," Harper said as soon as she entered, making Matthew slightly jump.
Dawn stood up quickly which caused her cat, Tofu, to scramble off her lap and towards Valentino who stiffened once it reached his lap.
The group exchanged greetings and hugs before all dispersing into different conversations and activities for the next few hours.

Won't be doom and gloom but will get really dark at times. Updates twice a week at minimum (2-3k words), sometimes more when school decides to let me out of the pillory lol.
