《Fated to Miss Jackson ( GXG )》Chapter 7

I sat at my desk, tapping my nails against it absently. I knew that Katy would walk in with the rest of her class and honestly that scared me. I didn't know how to act around her.
I saw students beginning to trail in slowly in the corner of my eye. And I felt my heart start to thump in my chest. More and more students flooded in but Katy was no where to be seen. Had she skipped class just to avoid me? Part of me felt relieved but the other part felt a pang if sadness. I shut my classroom door and started the lesson, I was five minutes in when I heard the door open quietly and i turned to see Katy slipping guiltily through the doorway. I opened my mouth but couldn't form any words to say to her so I turned back to the whiteboard and allowed her to sneak to her desk
"You're not even going to punish her? Favouritism" I heard a student mumble. I cleared my throat and looked over at the guilty blonde in the corner
"detention after school Katy"
She nodded quietly and looked down at her work. It broke my heart to see her this way, she's never been this sad before, am I the reason?
Katy spoke not one word during the whole hour and refused to meet my eyes. The bell rang and she was one of the first to jump up and hurry out of my room.
"See you after school Katy"
She looked up at me with slight sadness and regret but said nothing, leaving with a quick nod.
The bell rang loudly signalling the end of the day. I sat waiting. I checked my emails. I packed away my stuff. Still no Katy.
I sighed and stood up, if she wasn't going to make the effort to attend her detention why should I stay. I walked over and opened my classroom door to see a figure standing in front of me.

"Holy shit" I cleared my throat and looked into Katy's eyes "sorry you made me jump"
She bit her lip
"Sorry" she whispered under her breath
I looked into her golden brown eyes and then down to her lip that she was absently chewing before realising we had been standing there awkwardly too long. I gestured for her to enter the room and she did so.
"I'm so so sorry about yesterday I was stupid I didn't think, I know it was inappropriate and I shouldn't have done it, I shouldn't have kissed you it was wrong I don't know why I did it I'm so so sorry miss I really-" her eyes began to glisten with a hint of tears
"Shut up" I said firmly
She gasped and looked up at me as shock filled her gleaming eyes at my harsh tone
I looked down at her lip which her teeth finally released. I want to bite that lip.
"Before I have to make you"
