The room was scarily silent, the clock ticking on the wall was loud in their ears as they sat awkwardly.
Taehyung's hair was still damp from the bath as he sat in Jungkook's t-shirt and a pair of pants.
His cheeks were flushed terribly from embarrassment as he focused his eyes on the floor.
Jungkook was trying to appear unfazed but the undeniable look of slight fear in his eyes gave him away.
"I leave for three hours and this is what I come home to?" Jungkook's mother sighed as she ran her hands over her face.
She had long ago ushered little Chanyeol into another room right after he ran up to Taehyung and hugged him.
Taehyung had awkwardly smiled down at the child who was still too innocent to understand what they had just walked in on.
"Mom I swear-"
"Jeon Jungkook don't you dare swear to me!" She glared at him.
Taehyung jumped lightly in his seat at her words, hearing when Jungkook gulped harshly from beside him.
The room grew quiet once again before Taehyung hesitantly lifted his head, "Ms. Jeon? I just want to apologize for disrespecting your home, I-I know I had no right to do so."
Jungkook's mother was watching him as he spoke before she replied, "Thank you Taehyung I appreciate your apology but I'm sure this wasn't all your doing. My son tends to not think before doing."
She was glaring heavily at Jungkook who shrunk under her gaze, making Taehyung shake his head.
"Actually it was my idea. I w-wanted to-... Do it."
Her head snapped back to him, eyes wide in shock and lips slightly parted.
He flushed heavily under her gaze, watching her take in his words.
Of course, she would, no one would have expected him to initiate such an intimate act like such, making him feel slightly... ashamed, embarrassed?
"... Oh... -Well in that case then, why don't you stay for dinner?" She asked slowly, trying to piece her words together because she technically couldn't stay mad at Jungkook for potentially pressuring innocent Taehyung.

Taehyung weakly smiled up at her before nodding his head, feeling Jungkook yank him up from his seat.
"Okay enough interrogations for tonight." He announced before pulling Taehyung towards his room with his mother calling his name in warning.
"Jungkook! Keep the door open!"
Her efforts went down the drain when Jungkook closed the door and literally locked it.
"But your mother-" Taehyung began when Jungkook turned around and began to approach him.
"Relax, I'm just playing. We won't do anything... Unless you want to." He teased when he saw the small blush on Taehyung's cheeks when he cupped his face.
Jungkook kissed him loudly, tongue diving into his mouth and drawing a small whimper from taehyung.
Taehyung's skin felt hot when he began trailing kisses down the column of his neck, lips sucking lightly and teeth gently biting.
"J-Jungkook." The boy huffed, hands gripping the male's hair tightly.
"Stay with me tonight." Jungkook murmured against his skin before pulling away slowly to look at him in the eyes.
"I can't- my father is already upset with me. I will only make it worse." Taehyung shivered when Jungkook's hands made their way under his shirt and landed on his bare back.
And then he paused when he heard his words, eyes dark and filled with such determination.
"Are you afraid?" Jungkook questioned, his answer was clear when Taehyung looked away from him.
He let out air through his nostrils, rough hands tightly gripping Taehyung's hips. He gently pressed their foreheads together, breath mingling together.
Taehyung slowly pulled back, eyes meeting Jungkook's once again, this time brimming with unshed tears.
"I'm afraid of not being with you." He said.
Jungkook could feel something heavy settle in the pit of his stomach at his words, feeling his own eyes sting.
"Don't-Don't say that. They can't separate us, not now not ever. Do you hear me?" Jungkook spoke through gritted teeth, gulping harshly when his own voice cracked.

A tear fell down Taehyung's cheek but he found himself nodding his head, not sure if he believed a word he was saying.

The next morning Jungkook woke up to birds chirping loudly outside and the rays of sun hitting his face.
But his bed was empty, no sign of the little beauty from the previous night.
He was up in a flash, eyes alert as he quickly pulled on some pants and a random t-shirt.
He was about to exit his room when he saw it, a folded piece of paper on his desk.
He quickly walked over and gripped it tightly with shaky hands before he unfolded it;
I'm sorry I didn't wait for you to wake up but I believe it's better this way.
I must speak with my father, tell him everything about us. The way I feel about you will never change Jungkook.
The truth is I don't know what my father is capable of doing. But if this attempt proves unsuccessful, if I can't see you anymore, just know that I love you.
I always will, there is no doubt in my mind about that. You've changed me in ways that I could have never imagined. I can't thank God enough for putting you in my life.
Thank you for loving me.

Taehyung was cold sweating when he arrived home very early that morning, his body felt cold to the touch but he was sweating.
He could feel something twist in the pit of his stomach when he stood by his front door, hands shakily reaching out to open it.
His heart was beating fast in his chest and he could feel the blood pumping in his ears.
He thought back to Jungkook, how they had spent the day prior and he felt more determined than ever to face his father.
He knew that this had to be the last argument, the final moment of truth where he would tell his father his feelings.
He couldn't keep living like that, transitioning between fighting with his own father and going to Jungkook, loving him in secret.
He let out one final breath before pushing his front door open, immediately hearing static noise coming from the television.
He flinched lightly before quietly closing the door, apparently not quiet enough because he could hear loud footsteps growing closer.
He tried to walk further into the living room when he felt a harsh push from behind, sending him tumbling over and crashing against a small table.
He let out a pained gasp when the wood dig into his back harshly, eyes quickly looking up to meet his father's rage filled ones.
His father's face was red and the veins on his forehead were protruding as he looked over him.
"Get up boy."
Taehyung winced loudly as he slowly got up, hands shaking violently as he tried to keep a strong front.
He felt fear grow inside of him when he finally managed to stand, only to be backhanded painfully and sent to the floor once again.
The metallic taste of blood immediately hit him, making him bring his fingers to his mouth.
He was shaking and crying, eyes wide with fear when his father stalked closer.
He looked down at his fingers to see blood, eyes blurred with tears.
But it seemed like that was his mistake, because his father was then gripping his wrist tightly and bringing his hand closer to his face.
Taehyung was confused as he was yanked to stand up, legs wobbling as he stood on two feet.
And then it hit him why his father was now burning with rage.
His ring was missing.

Stranger than Fiction (Draft Edition)
Rewrite -> https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/55140/stranger-than-fiction 150k words of rewritten and new content, updating 3 times a day. Faith is like ice-cream. It comes in all flavors. Greek, Norse, Sumerian, Christian— just name it and it's there. Adventures, on the other hand, are like credit cards. The first taste is free, but the price only goes up from there. Family heirlooms, now those are true evil. You get burdened with them for sentimental reasons even if they’re icky. For Lukas Aguilar, it was a pendant. A small, weird metal nib with absolutely no vampiric tendencies. All he wanted was to finish the job at hand, and get on that book he had been postponing for a while now. Instead he got served with an apocalypse for breakfast, a cave full of eldritch monsters for the company and the whims of a ruined goddess for his To-Do list. Really, a simple NO from the universe would have sufficed. Acknowledgments Editor-in-Chief: Solo Starfish Artwork: Exodus
