Taehyung's father couldn't think of a better form a torture than to lock Taehyung in the closet for the whole day as punishment for sneaking out.
The boy had cried and pleaded for him to stop, but not even his mother could stop her husband as he shoved her back before throwing Taehyung into the room.
Taehyung wanted to scream at him that all he needed at the moment was a hug and comforting words to get him through everything.
He needed Jungkook.
He wailed for hours as he sat in the dark room, knees pressed up to his chest.
The pastor had yelled at him and told him that it was a warning for going off to see the 'street rat'.
The time he spent alone forced his brain to relive the events from the day before, his small arms going around to hug his own body.
He couldn't believe that his own father refused to acknowledge the truth and instead blamed him for what happened.
He was disgusted and ashamed of the man, now realizing that he did not care about him in the slightest.

Taehyung didn't see Jungkook the entire week after that.
His father was on him every second of the day, taking him to school and picking him up straight after.
He would lock him in his room as soon as they got home, and no dinner for him.
Taehyung hated to admit that he was glad that he didn't have to see Jungkook.
He knew that he needed time and space to heal and as good as being in Jungkook's arms felt, he just needed alone time to think.
And thankfully, thats what time provided.
The next time he saw the male it was Sunday, right before Mass.
Taehyung managed to sneak away from his father, practically bolting to the back of the church where he hoped Jungkook would be.

But when he got there, he was greeted with the sight of Jungkook smoking a cigarette, smoking leaving his lips.
Taehyung stopped in front of him, eyes piercing in Jungkook's.
The male looked surprised to see Taehyung there, especially now that he was caught in the act.
Taehyung was breathing heavily as their breaths mingled together, brain hazy.
Jungkook didn't move a muscle, unsure of what Taehyung was about to do, not knowing where his head space was after a week since the assault.
But when Taehyung snatched the cigarette from his lips and pressed his lips against his, he knew everything would be okay.
Jungkook tasted like smoke, the taste of nicotine was strong as it invaded his senses, making him sigh softly.
His taste buds were now a mixture of strawberries and cigarettes.
The kiss was passionate and a bit desperate as Jungkook pushed his tongue into Taehyung's mouth.
He wrapped his arms around Taehyung's waist, pressing their chests together, making the boy release a small whimper as Jungkook sucked on his bottom lip.
"Are you alright?" Jungkook asked once they pulled away, both breathing heavily.
Taehyung knew what he meant, if his father had hurt him.
"I'm okay." Taehyung smiled at him and he nodded his head.
"I missed you." He murmured, pressing his nose into Taehyung's neck.
"I missed you too."
They proceeded to go to mass, Jungkook finding Taehyung afterwards because there was no Sunday class.
The pastor had been busy with greeting people that he didn't notice when Taehyung sneaked away.
He had been worried since Jimin hadn't shown up to Mass last minute, forcing him to take over his singing parts.
The boy hadn't mentioned anything about not coming and he didn't see his parents during the mass as well.

They never missed.
The last time he had seen him was on Friday, and he didn't seem like he was coming down with a cold.
He couldn't help but remember how Jimin had come up to him Monday morning, being cautious to touch him, mumbling softly how Jungkook had spoken to him.
Initially Taehyung had been upset that Jungkook was just telling everyone his business but after a while he was grateful that Jimin knew and he didn't have to act like nothing was wrong when all he wanted to do was throw himself on the floor and cry.
He frowned at the memory of him crying to Jimin soon after that but nonetheless followed Jungkook down the road for some ice cream.
They talked and laughed as they enjoyed their date after a long time of not seeing each other.
Jungkook was still treating him like a fragile little thing, which Taehyung strangely didn't mind.
Perhaps it was how harshly his father had treated him the entire week, or his mother's lack of presence in the house.
It felt nice to feel loved and cared for.
Someone that asked him how he was doing and actually felt genuine concern for his well being.
"Let's go to Yoongi's house really fast so I can pick up the truck." Jungkook suggested, leading the way.
Taehyung hummed softly as he tagged along, sighing at how warm the sun was that day.
Once they made it, Jungkook lazily banged on the door as he grabbed Taehyung's hand.
"What?" Yoongi answered as he opened the door and turned around, allowing Jungkook and Taehyung inside.
"Came for the truck but do you have any water, it's hot outside." Jungkook huffed as he dropped himself on his friend's couch, bringing a squeaking Taehyung down with him.
Yoongi frowned but slowly walked over to his fridge and grabbed two cold water bottles.
"Here." He spoke, handing one to each of them before his front door was harshly pounded on.
Yoongi quickly turned around to face the door, frown on his face before he finally heard a familiar voice.
Chills ran up their spines at the sound of his voice, so terrified and desperate.
"Yoongi! Open the door! Please open the door!"
It was Jimin.
