《The Prince's Stubborn Mate》Chapter 33- The game

It's been two weeks that Demetri and I have been getting to know each other again.
It's been fun. last Friday, as promised he took me on a date after practice. He took me to a fancy restaurant and ordered a private booth and lots of food.
We talked alot, he told me about his family which triggered some memories of them.
I remembered Violet, Kelly and Kyra, his parents and his brothers.
Tonight's the football game between Edmund Wolfe Prep and Gregory Hawk Academy.
Violet will be here for cheerleading and the king and his sons will be here to watch so that he can decide if it's safe for Freya to play.
They announced to the entire school that the king and the princes will be here for the game and so most of the students will be there to see the royals.
There was a special section set up on the grandstand section, with a tent, padded chairs and fancy food items for refreshments which was for the royal family.
Currently in the girl's locker room pitting on my under clothes, Freya sitting on the bench by my legs and using her phone.
"I'm going next door Frey," I told her adjusting my sports bra and football tights.
My paddings, helmet and Jersey was in the boy's locker room so I go over there to finish getting dressed.
"Ok, I'll come." She said, a deep red blush staining her cheeks.
"Yeah, to see Dallas half naked." I teased wiggling my eyebrows.
"Shut up." She mumbled blushing harder as we walked across the hall and into the locker room.
Most of the boys were dressed, but others, like Dallas,Marcus, Tyler and Rick lazed around in their boxers.
"Put some clothes on!" I yelled at them as I grabbed my paddings and started to arrange them on my body with Freya's help.
After a while, we were all dressed and had our helmets as we were running over the game play. Tyler reminded us of the three alternate plans that we would use if the original one that coach designed doesn't work.
"We ready?" Coach's booming voice burst through the room as he stepped in handing Freya his coffee cup, his clipboard and a rolled up paper which may have been a blueprint of the football field.
Coach gave us the usual pep-talk, told us that he would kick our asses if we lost, then told us to have fun out there and remember there's no ''I' in 'team'.
"Here Freya." I heard Dallas say as we were all heading out.
I turned back just in time to see him hold out his jacket for her to put her arms through.
Not just any jacket, his Letterman jacket.
Freya blushed as they tangled their fingers together and walked towards the door.
Freya gets to be on the sidelines with coach as she has become his personal assistant, only, she works for free.
I made kissy faces at the both of them and they both shot me their middle fingers.
Yep they're perfect for each other. I thought smirking as I ran with the other guys to the back of the school and under the bleachers where we would run onto the field when our cheerleaders were done cheering on our entrance.
"Where's Dallas?" Rick asks as I come to stand beside him and put my helmet on.
"He's coming." I replied smirking and he smirked too.
Dallas appeared a few minutes before the cheerleaders were finished cheering and we ran out screaming as the crowd cheered and stomped their feet.

We ran through the banner tearing it down the middle, then ran around the field making noise along with our crowd of supporters.
After our rounds around the field, we congregated on the side with coach.
The team from Edmund Wolfe prep did their thing then the game was about to begin.
I looked up to the secluded section under the grandstand and saw the king and his sons seated and paying attention to us. Demetri stepped up and took a seat in the chair on his father's right while Damien sat on the left.
His eyes connected with mine and he smiled at me and waved. I returned the gesture and blushed like crazy until I felt a hand grab the back of my jersey and pull me back.
"The fuck?" I screeched whipping around to face Coach Kerr.
"Get your head in the game Archer." He barked, he is extra antsy because of the presence of the royal men.
I smirked and grumbled a fine as I grabbed the ball from the referee after the coin flip which Dallas lost, and made my way to the field handing Tyler the ball taking my spot as middle line backer.
The other team lined up and I noticed that quiet a few of them are new, but still as large and scary as the players from before.
"Is that a chick?" One of the new boys asked eyeing me.
"Yeah, You got a problem with that?" I asked with an attitude, I could feel the sexistness radiating from him.
Is sexistness even a word? I wondered to my self.
"This ain't a girl game." One of the other new players said and I narrowed my eyes at them.
Number twelve and number five.
"You'd be surprised what she can do." Dallas said and I smirked.
The referee came over and issued some warnings to us before going back to the side lines where his post was located.
"She should be shaking her pompoms on the side man." number five said and I begun the get irritated.
"You wanna shake them pompoms for me babe?" This from Number nine.
I released a growl of annoyance and said "Fuck. Off." Carefully enunciating each word.
"I'd rather fuck you." He replied and a loud, aggressive growl tore through the tournament making everyone fall still and silent.
I didn't have to look to know it was Demetri, but I did look anyway.
His eyes were glued to me and I smiled at him.
Coach blew the whistle and I snapped into the game, dodging one of the offensive team's tackles.
I looked up just in time to see the halfback get ready to throw the ball.
The ball flew towards the wide receiver to my left and I jumped at the ball just in time to catch and intercept the pass.
Loud cheers blew up the bleachers as the referee blew his whistle.
I threw the to a member of my team and we started again.
The number nine player from Ed Wolfe came at me as a tackle as I rushed towards the running back who was running very quickly down the side of the field to make a touchdown.
Just as I made to grab him number nine tackled me causing me to fall to the ground.
The running back was just about to pass me but I stretched out my hands, grabbed his foot and pulled hard.
The running back came falling down on top of number nine who was on top of me.

I squeaked loudly, from both the surprise and from the pain which was rapidly spreading through my left side.
The ref blew the whistle and both guys jumped up.
Their combined weight was enough to make my vision darken as they were crushing the life out of me.
Rick came over and helped me up as I winced. It hurts like a bitch so I stretched my back popping my muscles.
"You aite?" He asked and I nodded.
"Hurts like a bitch but I'm fine." I grumbled.
"Chicks shouldn't play ball, y'all too delicate." Number nine said and I glared at him.
That school is filled with a bunch if sexist assholes.
"Fuck you!" I hissed at him resisting the temptation yo throttle the life out if him.
"I know u want to," was his reply and I couldn't help but thinking that he is immature as fuck. "I'm available whenever you want some good dick."
He finished and I refused to respond to him.
He seemed to have picked up on this and continued saying "you look like you've got the body to ride."
At that sentence, I snapped and lounged at him, Rick holding me back knowing that if I actually hit him we could be disqualified.
"Jess no, he's not worth it." Rick said pulling me back, Dallas and Marcus coming over to us as I took off my helmet and threw it at the asshole who is quite insistent on tormenting me.
"What happened?" Dallas inquired
"That pussy over there is insistent on aggravating me." I snapped relaxing in Ricks hold.
"I may be a pussy, but I am tighter than yours." He taunted and I blinked a few times before releasing a quiet breath.
"I'm calm, I'm calm." I said and Rick released me cautiously. "It's OK."
They know that no one gets away making comments like that to me.
"I'm cool, let's go." I said pointing over to our stand as we enters our fifteen minute break.
We all turned and began walking to the table, me behind the boys.
As soon as their backs were turned I ran over to number nine who still stood at the same place with a disgusting smirk plastered to his face.
Just as I grabbed the front brace of his helmet, the boys noticed shat was happening and grabbed me pulling me back.
To the audience, it looked like a conversation with the way my boys were trying to pull me away from him and a few players from Ed Wolfe crowding around their boy.
A few of my fingers sent through the bars of the helmet and I scratched his face.
"Jessy stop, he can get disqualified." Dallas growled at me.
At that point in time, I couldn't help but think that being disqualified wouldn't be such a bad thing as long as I got to beat the shit out if this asshole.
"Archer!" Coach hissed quietly so that no one would notice the almost fight breaking out in the sidelines o the field.
I released the boy who moved away from us.
"What the hell?!" Coach hissed as we walked over to the side where Freya was sitting on a low bench sipping from a bottle of juice.
"Are you trying to get us disqualified?!"
"No, he disrespected me." I replied nonchalantly grabbing a bottle of electrolyte filled water and taking a sip.
"Oh man." Coach muttered rolling his eyes, "self control, Archer, self control!" He walked away and I started to snigger.
His expression was too funny. Marcus elbowed me in the side and mumbled a quaint "stop." As he fought to hold in his laughter.
I stopped laughing as Dallas adjusted the game plan putting me in line with number nine for a tackle.
Our break ended and we made our way to the field and lined up.
The referee blew the whistle and the other half of the game started.
My position was such that I ended up in number nine's line of tackle.
This is good for me.
As the ball flew through the air, number nice grabbed it, he began running in the opposite direction and I followed, when he was close to the point at which he could throw and have the running back catch the ball, I lounged at him.
Flying through the air, I pushed all my body weight and also maximum effort into flinging myself into his side.
He stumbled and fell, half on his side and half on his back.
The whistle was blown and I jumped up, leaving him on the ground moaning in pain.
When he landed with me on top of him, I swore I heard a faint crack.
I pulled off my helmet and eyed him in disdain.
"This game isn't for pussies, maybe you should try cheerleader or is that Aldo to manly for you?" I asked sweetly batting my eyelashes at him.
He groaned again and attempted to sit up and I sniggered.
I casually stepped over him, helmet in hand and made my way yo Dallas and Rick.
"Heeeeyyy!" I cheered holding out my fists "Put it there." I said and they fist bumped me while laughing.
I pulled on my helmet an ran back to my position.
So far, we are tied with Edmund Wolfe on four points an there is only four minutes left in the game.
Starting another round I tackled other guys as they tried to score.
When the final whistle blew for the game's end, we were still tied and seeing that we had the ball we would have had to o the kick through the goal post.
When the team was asked who would do the kick, I was helmetless and engaged in conversation with Freya, not paying attention to them.
That is until, everyone turned and pointed at me.
"What?" I asked furrowing my eyebrows.
"You're kicking." Coach said
"Why me?"
"You're the best kicker on the team apart from Tyler, and he can't do it." Coach said and I rolled my eyes and pulled my helmet back on grumbling about stress in the mean time.
They announced my kick then lined up the ball and the post at forty-five yards.
Fuck that's far!
I got to the ball and looked at the post.
Whenever I need to do the kick, I have to visualize the ball going trough the goal.
The ref blew the whistle and kicked i the ball.
It whizzed through the air then flew through the goal. The crowd erupted into cheers of joy as we won.
I turned around just in time to hear someone scream "Dog pile on Jessabell!" Before the large body of one of my team members launched at me pinning me to the ground.
It was carter, followed by the rest of the team and Freya fell somewhere in the pile.
"Get. The. Fuck. Off. Me." I wheezed and they all jumped off me.
The audience had already rushed down and were trying to take down the goal post which was reinforced with iron and concrete after it came down twice before during games.
There was cheering and congratulations going out to our team as I pulled off my helmet and jersey.
I felt arms wrap around my waist and I Knew it was Demetri.
"Are you alright?" He asked spinning me around and checking for injuries.
"I'm fine." I told him rolling my eyes at him with a smile, "I've been doing this for more than five years, I'm used to this."
"You're driving back with me." He ordered and I just shrugged.
Freya and Violet are hosting a party at one of the lower level houses close to the palace. Its located on the grounds but not close enough for the noise to be a problem to the occupants of the castle.
"I'll change first." I told him, "I feel dirty."
He laughed and kissed my nose.
"You can shower at the castle."
"Party at my place everybody!" Freya shouted over the intercom and everyone cheered.
"It's gonna be a long night." Demetri said and I nodded in agreement.
