《The Prince's Stubborn Mate》Chapter 22-Dream Crasher

Stepping into Madam Leveau's house, my sense of smell was assaulted by various dried plants and herbs. The instant overload of scents made me sneeze and my head began to ache a little.
There were various antiques placed on shelves around the room, dries leaves and plants hung from the high ceiling of the room. Leading me behind a cream colored curtain and into a dark room illuminated by only the sunlight coming in from the cracks in the board structure.
Madam Leveau lit a few candles bringing dim light to the room, looking around, I noticed a few tarot cards and a large glass looking ball placed on a small wooden table in the center of the room with two small cushioned stools placed facing one another.
Looking at the shelves to the back and left walls of the room, I noticed various glass cases with skulls and different bones in them. On the top most shelf, there were tiny heads which bore striking similarities to actually human beings.
Reaching up, I grabbed one of the heads, this head had light blonde hair done in two ponytails to the side tied with small sky blue ribbons. Looking at the face, I noticed the light blue eyes staring at me, strangely enough the eyes actually looked alive the button nose and the light pink lips made the doll head look like a normal person.
Reaching out, I poked the doll in the eye only to see the mouth open and a pained "oww!" Escape from the mouth of the small doll head.
Squeaking in fright, I jumped back, dropping the head on the floor.
"Owe!" The head said again as it rolled on the floor by my feet.
"Pick it up girl." Madam Leveau hissed in her creepy voice and I turned to look at her with a disbelieving expression painted on my face.
"No way!" I said shaking my head frantically "it's alive." I said
"Yes she is alive now pick up the girl's head." She said and I bent and retrieved the head by the hair. Holding it away from me I squinted curiously at the strange creature in my hand as it looked back at me with a glare.
"Put it down and come." Madam Leveau told me as she sat on one of the stools.
Returning the head to the shelf, I sat on the other stool, "Is that a real person?" I inquired cutiously
"Yes." Madam Leveau said placing some tarot cards onto the table before her.
"Why is she like that?"
"She couldn't finish her payment to me." She stated simply and I shuddered to think what she would do to me.
"How much do you charge?" I inquired cautiously
"Do not worry about that, Jessabell." She glanced up at me briefly with her shocking orange eyes and my heart beat sped up in fright.
This woman scares the bullshit out of me!
"I'm sure you can more than afford my cost." She said and a horrifying thought popped into my head.
"Do you want me to pay with my soul?" I asked unnaturally horrified. I was so damn scared that I was literally shaking like a leaf on a windy day.
"I'm a Voodoo woman, little girl, not a soul reaper. Why the hell would I want your soul?" She asked sounding offended, however it was hard for me to tell because of the raspiness of her voice.
"Well I just-" I began to explain but she put her hand up to silence me

"Enough of this, we'll start talking about your wolf prince." She said looking at me intently.
"What about him?" I asked "I need something to reject him."
"You cannot leave a royal." She said looking at me like I was the stupidest person in the world.
"I know that but is there a way to get him away from me without killing him?" I asked semi desperately.
"No." She said simply
"So what the hell am I doing here then?" I asked myself with my eyebrows pushed together.
"I can do something for you. But you cannot live in this town." She said and I frowned in confusion.
"What do you mean?"
"I can give you a piece of jewelry that will block the mate bond, he won't be able to feel you through the bond but only if you are far far away from him."
"But I have to go to school." I responded
"Wait until you're finished with school."
"I marked him too." I stated in case it would change anything
"I know that." She said
"Okay so the cost."
"We will speak about that the next time you come."
"Okay." I responded suspiciously looking down at my phone, just now noticing that it was after five pm. It's like a two hour drive back to my house give or take a few minutes.
"I should leave." I said rising from the stool. My legs cramped from the long hours of sitting. I stretched my arms above my head and cricked my neck out. I gotta go, I have school in the morning.
Madam Leveau gave a short hum of aroval before I walked from the room. Stepping outside I was hit with the frosty cold air. I shivered and cursed proffusely before turning on the flashlight on my phone and walking through the now dark path towards my car, careful to avoid the snake.
Getting back in my car I began driving towards my house, after about an hour and a half of driving, my phone began ringing. I looked at the caller ID to see my mother's name.
"Hello?" I picked it up.
"Jessabell, where are you?" She asked in a frantic voice and I rolled my eyes. Because you care, I thought sarcastically.
"On my way home. Why?"
"Demetri is still here, waiting for you."
"Waiting for me? Why?" I asked making the turn into my district.
"He says he wants to talk to you." She responded and I rolled my eyes once again.
"Tell him I don't want to talk to him. So he should go home."
"Will you be home soon?" She asked and I gave a slight 'mmhm' before she said something else and hung up.
As I drove I began thinking about my meeting with Elzora and what it would mean for me. I could still go to school in England and to hell with Demetri. That would be good, very good.
Turning onto my street with a barely stifled yawn, I thought about the subjects which I have tomorrow. I have Math first period, English second period, study hall for an hour then History last period.
Driving into my driveway I parked my car. Not bothering to park it in the garage because I'll be using it in the morning.
Due to my immense tiredness I barely registered the fact that Demetri's car was still sitting in the drive way, I trudged into the house closing the front door soundlessly behind me as I took off my shoes and left them by the door.

"You're back," Mom noted as I headed up the stairs to my bed room.
"Yup, I'm back." I murmered tiredly through a yawn. Noticing Demetri walk out of the living room towards me. Why the hell is he still here?!
"Jessabell." He said stopping before me.
"Why are you still here?" I asked rudely, shaking my hair out of my eyes.
"I need to talk to you." He said placing emphasis on the word need.
"No. What you need to do is get the hell away from me. I told you this morning and I'm going to tell you again I don't want to see you Demetri." I said as calmly as I could manage. His very presence is enough to make my temper rise.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I have school tomorrow and I have to go get ready for that." I said turning without another word and making my way to my room.
Closing my door, I took note of the clean room. Thank you Angela. I thought gratefully depositing my phone on my dresser and making my way to the bathroom.
After showering, I dressed in short pink bootie shorts and a white t-shirt. I packed my bag for school then pulled out my laptop to fininsh working on my essay for literature.
After forty five minutes of speedy typing, reading and overactively thinking, I was finally finished the essay.
My brain, eyes and mind hurt. Shutting down the laptop, I placed it on the floor by my bed then made my way into the bathroom, i brushed my teeth and washed my face.
Standing at the bathroom counter, I looked into the mirror, taking note of the slightly faded shoe print on my cheek. I sighed in resentment as I thought about what Demetri did to me.
'I'm so sorry Jessabell.' I heard Demetri's voice float into my mind startling me, causing me to jump and knock over a jar of cotton swabs. Fuck! I hissed on my mind.
'Get the fuck out of my head.' I hissed through the mind link as I returned the jar of cotton swabs to their place on the counter
'Jessabell, please don't shut me out.' Demetri pleaded through the mind link and I rolled my eyes.
'Leave me alone!' I screeched mentally in a annoyance. 'I hate you and I want you to leave me alone! Why can't you get that through you thick ass skull." I hissed storming back into my bed room and angrily tugging the sheets back so that I could climb in and cover myself.
Laying down on my side I blocked Demetri from my mind and closed my eyes. I could feel him banging on the walls of my mind, trying to breech it so he could speak to me. But I don't want to speak to him.
After a solid fifteen minutes of laying in bed-i know it was fifteen because I was counting in an attempt to ignore the slight headache building around my brain from Demetri banging on my mental walls in an attempt to talk to me- my cell phone began to ring. Feeling around my night stand, I grabbed it and answered it without looking at the caller ID.
"Hello?" I mumbled tiredly.
"Jessabell, it Freya Demetri wants to tal-" she said in a rush and I assumed that her phone was on speaker.
"Tell your brother to LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE!" I screamed at her, loosing all patience due to the ever growing throbbing pain in my head. "Goodnight Freya." I said
"Jessabell don't han-" Demetri's voice filtered down the line before I swiftly ended the call.
I returned the phone to my side table, plugging it back into the charger. It began to ring once again and I switched it off laying down and promptly falling asleep.
Swimming in the deep clear blue water became difficult as I began running out of air. I kicked my feet and swam upwards, breaking through the surface of the water I gasped for air taking in large lung fulls of oxygen. Looking around, I was in a pond which was surrounded by trees. I swam towards the end of the pond and climbed out onto the rocky ground. The smooth stones were wet and I slipped and stumbled my way towards the grass where I found a blanket folded and waiting for me. I picked it up and wrapped it around my wet bikini clad body.
"Hello, little mate." Demetri's husky voice sounded behind me causing my to jump and whirl around in shock.
"What the hell?" I asked in confusion as I backed away when he started walking towards me. Wait a minute, I just fell asleep where the hell am I?!
"Jessabell calm down." Demetri said bringing the fact that I was hyperventilating to my attention, "just breathe." He commanded soothingly as he stopped before me rubbing his hands up and down my arm.
"Don't touch me," I said breathlessly stepping back. My back collided with the large hard trunk of a tree behind me.
"I'm sorry for hitting you." He said looking in my eyes and I blinked a few times.
"You fuck up my dream just so you could apologize for beating my ass?" I asked incredously as I rolled my eyes.
"You won't speak to me any other way." He said as if it was the most obvious and logical thing in the world. I growled mutinously at him..
"I'm not going to speak to you now anyway so let me go." I hissed and he shook his head.
"No, I'm not letting you leave until you say you have forgiven me."
"Fine, I forgive you. Can I leave now?" I asked uninterestedly.
"No you're just saying that to leave." He growled grabbing my upper arms once again and shaking me a little. "You won't leave until you mean it." His gray eyes clouded over in frustration as he frowned.
"I might as well just get comfortable then." I said calmly shrugging out of his hold and settling on the ground by the root or the tree. "I'll be here forever, because I will forgive you Demetri" I said emphasizing the word 'never'.
"I've said I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking." He said sitting before me and I rolled my eyes, pulling the blanket tighter around me. "I was blinded by anger, nobody has ever disrespected me or ignored my commands unless my father overrules it, anyone who disrespects me gets punished. Not because you're my mate means you will be any different. If you disrespect or disobey me I will punish you because, some day I will be king and I will need to punish people and I can't do that if I can't punish my own mate for disobeying me." He explained it like it was the most normal thing ever.
"And that makes it right for you to beat me?" I asked incredously "what am I? Your example to the werewolf world that you can hurt your own mate and you will hurt them too, is that what I am to you?" I screamed at him as he growled at me.
"Don't raise your voice at me." He snapped in his alpha tone and I shrunk back from the sheer power of that order.
"You really are a bastard." I whispered shaking my head as I felt warm tears prick my eyes. I squeezed my eyes shut pushing back my tears "let me go, I have school in the morning." I said standing up.
"I'll pick you up for school in the morning." He said and I frowned shaking my head.
"No. If I see you tomorrow, I will have a nervous breakdown so please spare me the trauma of seeing you tomorrow. " I spat savagely as he got to his feet and grabbed my arm pulling me to him so fast that I had no time to react.
Using his index finger and thumb, he grabbed my face applying pressure to my cheeks causing my lips to part in order to ease the pain.
"I don't like hurting you, and I don't like seeing you cry but if that is the only way to make you obedient and respectful to me then I will make you cry until you learn. I'm going to break you Jessabell Archer, thats a promise." He said squeezing my cheeks a little harder and I whimpered in pain before he roughly shoved me away from him causing me to stumble a little.
"I'll pick you up for school in the morning, if you leave before I get there I'll make sure you don't sit down for an entire week." He threatened causing me to glare at him and he growled at me flashing his fangs.
"Don't look at me that way." He snapped and I looked away. "Good night Jessabell." He said and the ground dissolved beneath my feet.
I gasped and sat up in bed, my comforter falling down to my waist. He threatened me, in my dream. I blinked a few times and sighed as my racing heart started to calm. I don't think I will be able to live like this.
'Go back to sleep Jessabell.' Demetri's voice floated through the mind link and I shuddered and layed down. Reconstructing my mental wall to block Demetri from my thoughts I pulled my sheet over my head and went back to sleep. Thankfully I fell into a deep dreamless sleep without any bother from Demetri.
