《Loving Min Yoongi: How To Love Him》Chapter 88

Alex and her mom were sitting on the deck having coffee early Tuesday morning. Alex had arrived in St. Louis the day before. Their only plans the first few days were to sit in the pool. Missouri weather in the summer could be miserable.

Alex set her coffee cup down and checked the time on her phone, "I need to leave in about an hour to go pick up Yoongi from the airport. I wouldn't plan on him doing anything except sleeping today. I think he's been in the studio the last three days, which means he probably has had no sleep."

Sabrina shrugged her shoulders, "That's fine, we can just hang in the pool all day. I'll grill tonight and then pack up after we eat for the lake."

"I'm assuming we'll be expected to sleep in separate rooms while we're there?" Alex rolled her eyes.

"Why don't you ask your grandmother what she thinks then let me know what she says." She raised her eyebrows at Alex.

Alex gave her a sheepish grin, "On second thought, separate rooms sounds fine."

A little while later Alex was at the airport waiting for Yoongi. She stood by the luggage claim for his terminal watching as passengers filed out of the hallway leading to the carousels. As a new wave of passengers were making their way through, Alex saw Yoongi coming out of the hall. He had on his signature black and her favorite hat. Her heart fluttered when she saw him and she mumbled to herself under her breath, "Damn, I am one lucky woman."

He walked up to her and took her hand, "Hi." He still had on his mask.

"Hi." She smiled at him as they walked to get his suitcase. She led him out the doors to the car and loaded his bag into the back seat. "Are you hungry? Do you want to stop for something?"

He got into the car and put on his seatbelt, "No, I'm good. I wouldn't mind something sweet though." He pulled his mask down then pulled her over to him and gave her a soft kiss on her neck. "Missed you."

Her cheeks turned red as she put the car in drive and took off. The ride back to the house was quick, then he unloaded his stuff in one of the bedrooms before heading out to the deck to say hello to her mom.

"How was the flight?" Sabrina set a drink down for him on the table.

"Long, as always. How have you been?"

"Oh just fine, nothing much happens around here." She shrugged her shoulders. Alex walked into the house to take a phone call. "Are you looking forward to the lake again?"

"Very." Yoongi looked over his shoulder to make sure Alex couldn't hear them, "I have a surprise for Alex when we get there." He filled her in on what he had planned.

Alex came back out as Yoongi was sitting back in his seat. "That was Ji-Hoon. Apparently the documentary is making waves already, everyone is talking about it. I love hearing that." She grabbed a drink out of the fridge then went to sit by Yoongi. "Are you going to head in for a nap while we swim?"

"Actually, I think I'll join you. I slept quite a bit on the plane so I'm still awake."

"Good, I'm going to go change."

They headed out one by one to the pool and grabbed a raft to lounge on. It was a laid back day with conversation, music, and good company. Even Kat and Neens came out to the patio to join them.

After dinner, Yoongi and Alex decided to take a walk back on the property as the sun was setting. On their way back to the house a breeze had come through and clouds were rolling in, a typical summer pop-up storm. Alex looked up at the sky, "Do you wanna run for it?"

Yoongi shook his head, "Why? We won't melt." He took her hand in his as they walked.

Suddenly the clouds opened and it began to pour. They both hunched their shoulders, laughing as the rain soaked through their clothes and they picked up their pace. When they finally got back up to the house, Yoongi pulled Alex over to the pool, "C'mon, let's swim."

Alex looked at him with big eyes, "It's raining!"

"So? There's no lightening, don't be a chicken." He pulled her up the steps and kicked his shoes off. Alex shrugged her shoulders then put her shoes next to his. He grabbed her hand and they jumped in.

Neens and Sabrina watched them from the deck, "Oh, to be young again." Neens had a wistful look on her face as she smiled. "I wasn't so sure about him at first, but I've never seen her so happy.

Sabrina nodded her head, "I think they suit each other well."

________

Later that night after Sabrina and Kat had gone to bed, Alex and Yoongi were out in the living room watching a video Jungkook and Hobi had sent him. They were jealous he was hanging with Alex and her family in the U.S. so they had kidnapped Holly from his parents house and dressed him up in a ridiculous outfit. Yoongi laughed and sent them a video back asking if Holly was ok after they had subjected him to such humiliation.

Alex chuckled, poor Holly. She leaned her head on Yoongi's shoulder while they reclined on the couch. He kissed the top of her head, "I have something for you, I'll be right back." He went back to his room then came back out with a gift box. He sat back back down and handed it to her.

"What's this for?" She took it from him and opened the lid.

"Something I started putting together shortly after I realized I was crazy about you."

She looked over and smiled at him as she pulled the photo album out of the box. She opened the cover and saw an inscription.

"For my Lex,

For every moment that I fall more in love with you. Thank you for choosing to walk with me through this life.

-Yoongi"

She slowly flipped through the pages that were filled with pictures he had taken of her, or that Ji-Hoon and the guys had taken of them together. Her and Yoongi on the bridge at Fukuoka, her in front of the waterfall in Norway, the two of them standing in front of the Eiffel Tower. The selfies they took in the hotel one night with both of them wearing face masks. The night at the aquarium when she fed the stingrays. Every moment he treasured he put into the book.

A small tear rolled down her cheek, "You still fill my heart till it wants to burst, you know that?" She leaned over to give him a hug and held on to him, "I love you."

He smoothed his hand down her hair, "I love you too."

________

Friday evening at the lake, after they had eaten dinner, Alex, Yoongi, Sabrina, Neens and Kat took the boat out to find their spot for the fireworks. Yoongi looked out over the water jiggling his leg as he sat next to Alex.

She had noticed he seemed a bit distracted the last couple of days, "What's with you? You've barely sat still since we got here." Sabrina hid her smile, she knew why.

Yoongi looked over at her and shrugged his shoulders. "Nothing, I'm fine." He gave her a reassuring pat on her leg.

The sun finally set, and they watched as giant fireworks lit up the sky. A boat near by had music playing that echoed over the water. Yoongi leaned in and whispered in Alex's ear, "Reminds me of New Year's."

She nodded her head and leaned back into him as he put his arm around her. When the fireworks finally ended they headed back to the house. They stayed up late talking and drinking. Alex looked around the table. A feeling of satisfaction came over her, she was surrounded by the people that meant the most to her.

________

The next day after their morning coffee, Yoongi asked Alex if she wanted to go for a drive. She was more than happy to get out for some alone time with him. They headed out through the hills winding around the lake.

A few minutes later Yoongi put on the blinker and turned down a paved driveway. It took them a short ways through a wooded area then opened up to a large house sitting on the lake. He put the car in park. Alex looked around then back at him confused. "What are we doing here?"

He opened his door, "Remember that house we saw for sale when we were here with the guys last time? Let's go take a look." He shut the door then came around to her side and opened the door for her. She got out and gave him a suspicious look.

They walked up to the front door, and Yoongi pulled the key out from under a rock in the landscaping.

Alex looked at him with squinted eyes, "How did you know where the key was?"

He opened the door and waved his hand for her to go in. Alex walked inside and let out a whistle. She walked into the living room and looked over at the large kitchen. Windows spanned across the entire back of the house giving open views to the lake. It was gorgeous. "Wow . . . . I would kill for a house like this."

Yoongi slid his hands into his pockets and leaned back against the wall, "Well, it's a good thing I bought it then."

Alex turned and stared at him with her mouth hanging open, "You . . . bought it?!" He nodded his head and smiled as he watched her reaction.

"Wh-, why? I mean, why a lake house? I would have though you would get something on the coast. When did you buy it?"

"The week we got back from the lake the last time. I called my realtor while we were still here and had him submit an offer. They accepted." He shrugged his shoulders like it was no big deal. "I told you I wanted something quiet without a lot of people around. When we saw this from the boat and I saw how much you loved it, I decided that this was where I wanted to buy." He walked over to her and put his hands on her hips. "It's peaceful, and it's close to your family so you can see them when we come to the states. There's plenty of room if the guys want to come stay, or I can rent it out for extra income when we're away. We can both work remotely here, and we still have your apartment if we need to stay in L.A."

Alex looked up at him unable to form words. He was the most amazing man she had ever met. He looked at her expectantly when she didn't say anything, "Do you like it?"

She nodded her head and jumped up to wrap her arms around his neck, "I freaking love it!" She stepped back and looked around then grabbed his hand so they could explore the rest of the house. When they were done they walked back out to the car, "Do you want to go get your mom and them and bring them over to see it?"

"Yes!" She hopped in the car and they went back to get the others so they could see the house.

Alex's mom approved, "I still can't believe you bought it. It's gorgeous, but it's so much to take care of. Will you hire someone to look after it when you're not here?"

"I've already looked into it and have a couple of companies I'm choosing between." They stood around the kitchen island. Alex was beaming as she explored the cabinets and started making mental notes on things they would have to buy for the house. Yoongi chuckled as he watched her. "We'll probably come back over in a couple of months and start setting it up. There is enough room for each of us to have our own office, and I'm sure Lex is dying to start decorating."

"You would be correct." She walked in from the living room, "But, we both have to agree on the style. I like yours already so we shouldn't have any issues."

They walked out to the back yard and looked out over the lake. Alex laid her head on Yoongi's shoulder, "This is perfect. You did good."

He put his arm around her shoulders and kissed her head, "I know." He laughed as she pinched his side.
