《Loving Min Yoongi: How To Love Him》Chapter 50

The following Monday, they were in Rio De Janeiro. Alex was getting ready for her first date with Yoongi. She knew she shouldn't be nervous. After all, it wasn't like they didn't see each other every day. But this was different, she could feel it. Something had shifted between them.
She finished putting her hair up, then swiped on some mascara and lip tint. She kept her makeup light and natural. Yoongi had already seen her at her best, so she was going to give him just plain old Alex tonight. She looked in the mirror to make sure everything was in place. The black halter dress was simple, but dressy, falling just to her knee. She sprayed a few puffs of her perfume into the air and walked through it so it wouldn't be too strong. Just as she did, she heard him knock.
She grabbed her purse and went to open the door. Yoongi was leaning against the door frame looking like he had just walked out of a GQ magazine. His hair had gotten longer since the tour started, and it fell naturally around his face. He was wearing a dark blazer and pants that matched, with a white shirt. He was effortless.
He smiled tentatively at her, "Hi."
She sensed he was feeling nervous, which actually calmed her nerves. She smiled back at him, "Hi."
He held his hand out to her, "Ready?"
She nodded and took his hand. They left through the garage entrance where Ji-Hoon was waiting with a rental car he had gotten for them. "You two enjoy yourselves. Call if you have any issues."
"Thank you, again, for your help with this." Yoongi took the keys from him. He walked around to open the door for Alex as she got in, then got into the driver's seat and put the address into the GPS.
Alex had no idea where they were going, but she was happy just to be with him. As Yoongi drove, he reached over and took Alex's hand. They sat there in silence, just enjoying each other's company.
They had been driving for almost an hour when Alex finally spoke, "So, do you know where you're going or are we lost?"
Yoongi laughed, "I know where we're going, we should be there in about twenty minutes."
When they finally pulled up to the restaurant, a valet came out to take the keys. "Welcome to Marius, please enjoy your evening." Yoongi put his hand on Alex's lower back and guided her into the restaurant.
Alex was in awe. The décor was eclectic and unlike anything she had ever seen before. The entire atmosphere was unique, down to the international flags they had hanging outside. The hostess asked for their reservation name, then lead them to their table. She asked what country they were from, and came back with each of their country's flag, small versions of course, and sat them on their table.
Once they were seated, Yoongi looked over the wine menu, "Would you like wine or something else?"
"Wine is fine, I'll let you pick."
The waiter came over to take their order. Before he walked away Yoongi stopped him, "Excuse me, do you have menus we can see?"
The waiter tilted his head in confusion. "Sir, this is a buffet. We offer some of the highest quality seafood and meats you can find. You will find everything you're looking for, I assure you." He pointed the way for them to the buffet.

Yoongi sat in his seat with a shocked expression on his face. Alex narrowed her eyes at him, "What's wrong?"
He slowly pulled out his phone from his pocket as he mumbled under his breath, "I'm going to kill Jin for this."
You are so dead
Why?! What did I do?
You told me this place was one of the highest rated restaurants in the world
It is! I did a ton of research
It came highly recommended
What's wrong?
It's a fucking BUFFET!!!
. . . . Oh
My Bad
"Yoongi, what's the matter?" Alex was starting to get confused, she had no idea what had him so upset.
Yoongi slipped his phone back into his pocket, then reached across the table and took Alex's hands into his as he let out a deep sigh. "I made the mistake of letting Jin help me pick out the restaurant tonight. He told me this was one of the best places in the world, and that it would be romantic." He looked around the room then down at the table. "Instead I brought you to an all you can eat buffet like some yokel!"
Yoongi felt Alex's hands shaking in his. He looked up to see her silently laughing with her head down. She looked up and wiped away a tear from her eye. "Yoongi," she put her hand over his, "I don't need some fancy restaurant to be impressed. You know it doesn't take much to make me happy. Just being here with you tonight is all I need." She sat back in her seat and looked around at the other tables. "Besides, this could be the best food we've ever eaten. You'll be thanking Jin instead of killing him."
She never ceased to amaze him. Here he was feeling like an idiot, thinking he had blown it, and she didn't make a single fuss about any of it. Right then the waiter arrived with their wine, and with a flourish only a waiter could pull off, he filled their wine glasses and set the bottle on the table.
Yoongi looked over at Alex and raised his eyebrows, "Well, let's go see what they've got."
They made a quick pass through all the stations to see what all there was to choose from. The amount of seafood was abundant, and there was even thick cut steaks made to order. They grabbed their plates and took multiple things they wanted to try. When they got back to their table, they had each filled two plates, and took turns sharing and trying everything. When they were done and their table had been cleared, Yoongi poured the last of the wine into their glasses and leaned back in his chair.
Alex was tracing the rim of her glass with her finger when she looked at Yoongi with a pointed stare.
"What?" He gave her a side grin.
"Go ahead, admit it. That was the best meal you've ever had."
Yoongi looked off to the side and then up to the ceiling before looking back at her, "Ok, fine, you're right. That was pretty amazing."
She smiled at him and poked his hand, "I told you. You just had to give it a chance. Never judge a buffet before you try it."
The waiter brought their check, and Yoongi handed him the card to pay. They left the restaurant, but when the valet asked if they were ready for their car Yoongi told him they would come back in about an hour for it. He took Alex by the hand as they walked down to the beach front.

It was dark out, but the beach was lit up from the businesses along the strip. The waves were crashing against the shore ahead of them. They kicked off their shoes and carried them as they slowly made their way along the edge of the water. Alex took in a deep breath and let it out. She felt relaxed. Happy. Content. She was on a date with a gorgeous, caring man who had worried himself tonight thinking he hadn't made her happy. What else could she possibly ask for?
They stopped and looked out over the water, the moon was reflecting light over the waves. Alex put her head on Yoongi's shoulder and wrapped her arm inside his. "Yoongi?"
"Hm?" He softly rubbed his finger over hers.
"Thank you for tonight. This was the best date I've ever been on."
He leaned down to kiss the top of her head. "You're welcome." He rested his head on hers as they watched the waves roll in.
It was finally time to head back and they still had a drive ahead of them. They got the car from the valet and started making their way back to the hotel. Alex felt a second wind coming on after being by the ocean. She turned excitedly towards Yoongi as he drove.
"Let's play a game!"
Yoongi gave Alex a suspicious look, "What kind of game?"
"Hm, let's see," Alex pulled out her phone to look up road trip games, "What about "Would You Rather"?"
Yoongi shrugged his shoulders, "Sure, why not?"
Alex wracked her brain for things to ask him, "Would you rather have whiskey or soju?"
"Whiskey."
"OK, that one was easy. I'll make them harder. Would you rather perform a Hula dance in a grass skirt, or perform the "I Need You" choreography in a dress?"
Yoongi burst out laughing, "Those are terrible choices! I don't want to choose either of them."
Alex shook her head, "Nope, those are the rules. You HAVE to choose one."
He leaned on the arm rest and picked at his lip while considering what the better option would be. "I think I'd rather wear the grass skirt and do the Hula."
"Really? Personally, I would have preferred seeing you in the dress. Just saying."
"What? Why?"
"You know, to see you do that one part when you . . . ." She put one hand behind her head and the other on her hip as she attempted a body roll in the seat.
Yoongi doubled over with laughter as he tried keeping his eyes on the road. He finally got ahold of himself to catch his breath. "Lex, you are something else."
She did a mock bow, "Thank you, I'll be here all night. OK, next one." She tapped her finger on her lips. "Would you rather use the sound of a cat meowing in one of your songs, OR use the sound of Jin laughing like windshield wipers?"
He shook his head and chuckled as he stared out at the road, "Where do you come up with this stuff?"
"I have a plethora of random thoughts in this brain." She pointed to her head. "So which one will it be?"
"I don't know, this is kind of hard. I'd have to build the song around the sound, not just throw it in there randomly . . . . Believe it or not, I think I'd choose the cat meowing."
Alex looked just as surprised as he did by his answer, "I never saw that one coming."
"I have one for you now."
"OK, shoot." Alex rubbed her hands together, ready to answer.
"Would you rather be Jin's slave for a day, or spend the day learning our choreography with Hobi as your teacher?"
Alex was not prepared to be stumped on the first go. "Um," She weighed the two options in her head. On one hand, being Jin's slave couldn't be so bad, at least it would be easier than carrying the weight of Hobi's grueling practices with the choreography. Then again, Jin could make it extra hard on her, and maybe Hobi would be nice and end up going easy on her since it was her.
Yoongi looked over to her then back to the road, "You HAVE to pick one."
"I know!" Alex tossed a mental coin in the air, "I think I would choose the choreography with Hobi."
"Really? I figured you'd choose Jin. You'd probably just end up brining him food and drinks all day while he played video games."
Alex hadn't thought of that. "Oh well, my decision is final."
Before they knew it, they had arrived back at the hotel. Yoongi parked the car then they took the elevator back up to their floor. Yoongi walked Alex to her room, "I know this is going to sound cheesy, but I don't really want the night to be over yet." He ran his hand through his hair and leaned against the wall.
Alex pursed her lips and looked down at the floor, "Well, what exactly did you have in mind?"
Before Yoongi could answer they spotted Hobi and Jimin coming down the hall. The guys waved at them and came over to ask them how their night went. Yoongi put his hands in his pockets, "Jin will live to see another day." He told them what had happened with the restaurant. "Oh, Hobi, maybe when you get some time you can teach Lex some of our chorography. She couldn't stop talking about it tonight."
Hobi's face lit up as he looked at Alex, "I'd be happy to!" Alex was giving Yoongi an incredulous look.
Yoongi turned to Alex with an evil grin, "I better get going, we have a packed day tomorrow so I probably won't get see you at all." Alex looked shyly over at the guys. They must have gotten the hint because they quickly said goodnight and hurried off back down the hall. When they were gone Yoongi swooped in and gave Alex a kiss, then stepped back and opened her door for her. "Night."
"Goodnight." She walked into her room and shut the door.
Yoongi undid another button on his shirt as he walked back to his room. It was probably better off that the guys had interrupted them. He wasn't so sure his intentions were pure had he and Lex continued their night any longer.
When he got to his room he took a quick shower, then sat down at the desk that had his recording equipment. He put his headphones on and replayed the song he had written for Alex. He wanted to make sure he didn't need to make anymore tweaks to it. When he was done he nodded his head in approval then crawled into bed. He lay there looking up at the ceiling unable to fall asleep. All he could think about was Alex and the next chance he'd get to spend time with her. Keeping them hidden from the media would get more difficult, but he didn't care. She was worth it.

A Drarry fanfiction based upon a simple question - what if Draco had met Harry in a different way to how it happened in the books? I try to follow JK's basic storyline so it seems similar to the books and movies, but with some differences (obviously) to make the Drarry happen :D
