That Thursday, Alex and Ji-Hoon were at the stadium shooting some behind the scenes of the guys as they practiced for the concerts that week. Ji-Hoon was on stage getting close-ups of the guys in between sets when Alex got a phone call.

Hey Mom, how come you're calling so early, it's like 6am there.

Oh, I was just up going through social media on my phone and thought I would call to tell you Happy Thanksgiving.

Aw, Happy thanksgiving to you too! I'm going to miss being there this year, but I'll be home soon for Christmas.

How long will you be here for? Your brother is on military leave for the holidays, and your sister will want to catch up on everything.

I'll be there for about three weeks so we'll have plenty of time. I go back before the new year.

(Her mom was quiet for a moment.) So, I see you ran into some issues at one of the hotels.

You saw that? (Alex didn't think it would have been important enough to have made any headlines.)

Of course, everyone is wondering who the mystery American girl is with BTS.

Well, they haven't dropped the promotions for the documentary yet so there isn't any way to explain me except as public relations. Everyone was worried that night, but I was mostly ticked the girl pulled my mask down.

If it were me I would have had a word with her, but I suppose you couldn't with all the cameras around. At least you had the guards there to help.

Yes, they are great. The guys made sure we don't run into the entrance issue again, so they have been very sweet about it. It's so amazing, mom. We do a lot of stuff together, and everyone has been so good to me. I am going to be so sad when this is over. I will miss all of them so much.

I can imagine. But, hopefully you guys can stay in contact afterwards.

That's what I'm hoping.

So, anything new on the Yoongi front?

Well, I can't go into great detail right now, but he has been more open around me, and we have had some sweet moments. Still hasn't said anything about being official, so I continue to just go with the flow and see where it goes.

That's ok though, there's a lot going on and you still have a while to get to know one another. You need to decide what you will do if it get's serious. What will you do when you have to come back home?

I don't know, I try not to think about that. In all honesty I still don't think he will make anything official because I just don't think I'm enough for him. I don't live in his world, I document his world. Those are two different things. In the end, I feel like he deserves more than I have to offer.

Alex, don't underestimate yourself. You are a strong, educated, and wonderful woman. Yoongi may not be looking for the famous star in his home town. You may be able to offer what they can't. Don't give up before you begin, if that's the road you're taking. Just be prepared and have a plan no matter which way it ends up.

Yes, mother, always have a plan. (Alex laughed.) OK, I better go, they're wrapping up and I have to get over there with Ji-Hoon. I'll see you in a few days.

As Alex ended the call with her mom, Tae and Jimin quickly turned and started walking down the stage. They had been near the front stage where Alex was when they overheard the phone call.

Tae leaned in towards Jimin so he didn't halve to talk too loud, "We didn't even realize she was missing a holiday with her family this week. I feel bad."

"Me too," Jimin looked back at Alex then to Tae, "we should do something for her when we get back home next week. She'll be leaving for the U.S. for Christmas so we won't see her for a few weeks."

Tae's eyes lit up, "We should get her a gift before she leaves. We should talk to the others and decide what to get her."

Jimin nodded in agreement, "I know what else we can do, too." He smiled at Tae as he put his arm around his shoulders telling him his plan as they walked back to the others.

That Sunday on the flight back to South Korea, Yoongi was deep in thought about Alex. He had forgotten that she would be leaving for the states for three weeks. The guys had discussed what gift they wanted to get her for Christmas. Even though they had decided what to get her, Yoongi wanted to get her something else, just from him. He knew it would be personal, but that was ok. He was opening up to her and he was almost ready to ask her to make their relationship official, almost. He had a few more days to decide what he would get her, but he was pretty sure an idea was already forming.

Alex had been sitting with Ji-Hoon on the flight while they went over their schedules for the holidays. Alex would be working remotely from home while she was in the states. They had just wrapped up, so she decided to head back by Yoongi. She sat down next to him, but he had already fallen asleep. His journal that he wrote his lyrics in was lying open on his lap. She picked it up along with his pen to put it in his bag for him. She noticed he was on the last page and would be needing a new one to write in. That gave her an idea for the gift she wanted to give him before she left. She had gotten each of the guys a small item. Her money wasn't extensive, but she loved putting thought into even the smallest gifts, she liked making them personal and not commercial. She put a blanket over Yoongi and sat back to read the book she had brought along.

RM was watching her with Yoongi, he leaned over to J-hope, "The more I see them together, the more I wish Yoongi would just do something already. She is so good for him. Doesn't he see that?"

J-Hope smiled, "Hyung, I think he does, he's just being cautious. He cares about her more than you think. Just give him some time, he'll make his move."

"I hope so, Jimin and Tae told me what they overheard her saying to her mom on the phone the other day. She thinks she's not goo enough for him. He will need to show her she's wrong. Hell, I will if I have to."

Hobi laughed, "I don't think you'll have to, but if it comes down to it we all will. I can't speak on her behalf, but she is good for him. I just hope she cares about him the way I think he cares about her. Maybe we should talk to Ji-Hoon. The two of them are close, he may have some insight on it all."

"Good thinking, I'll go talk to him." RM went up to sit with Ji-Hoon.

"How's it going? Are you ready for the holidays with your family?"

Ji-Hoon looked over at RM and smiled, "Yes, my family will be glad I'm back for a bit. How about you?"

"I have plans with my family, as well as the guys while we're on break. Everyone is looking forward to it. Have you and Alex talked about what will happen while she's in the states?"

"Yeah, she'll be working remotely from her mom's house. I know she's excited to go back and see her family. I think it's been almost a year since she saw them last."

"That will be good for her then. I know it will be strange not seeing her for a while. We've all gotten use to having her with us."

Ji-Hoon nodded in agreement, "How do you think Yoongi will handle it while she's gone?"

"I'm not sure, he doesn't usually show what's on his mind very often." RM looked behind him to make sure no one was listening. "I wanted to ask you something. About Alex. Does she talk to you about Yoongi at all? A couple of the guys overheard her on the phone with her mom the other day, and they get the impression she doesn't think she is good enough for him. Which in my opinion couldn't be further from the truth."

"She has told me some things, but not all. But, from what I can tell, she doesn't have confidence in herself when it comes to him. Not when thinking of their future. I think it has a lot to do with past relationships that didn't go well, and because of his role as an idol. She's built walls, and it will take someone special to break them. I think Yoongi is that person, but he will have to really show himself to her for that to work."

RM thought about what he said, "I agree with you. He has made so much progress just since she came into the picture. We see the way he is changing, and we don't want him to lose that. Alex is good for him, and we are hoping this all works out for them. Thanks for talking with me. I'll keep it between us."

He went back to his seat and pulled out a book. He hoped Yoongi found within himself what he needed to be, to be the person Alex needed. When that happened, a whole new world would open up for them, and he couldn't wait to see him take that journey.
