《The Circus Ruckus! || Popee X Reader!》Chapter Two // Stay

What's up with me? I kept blacking out like it's a usual thing for me, but it's not. Should I see a doctor? Maybe I should not,
=====
The sound of dropping water rang in my ears as I laid unconscious for what it felt like years. This may sound stupid, but the silence around me makes me feel insecure. What if someone suddenly kills me or suddenly-
"I... I'm really sorry..."
A voice called out while tiny sobs can be heard every couple seconds.
"I shouldn't have done that, shouldn't I?"
I can't tell who this person is, but I can tell their upset about something.
"It's not like you can hear me, right? You're laying there, lifeless." The voice spoke in a worried tone, then stopped. "Making me and Keda wonder if you'll even wake up..." the voice continued. "Before I leave you again, I just wanna tell you how pretty you are. It's rare to see a beauty like you around, especially on a desert."
The voice stopped talking as the silence surrounds my body again.
Who could that be? Were the words that kept replaying on my head as the night proceeded.
=====
To my surprise, I managed to open my eyes. "H-hey I'm back..." I whispered to myself. "Hey, I'm back!" I repeated it again but this time I shouted it in such a happy tone!
"Mom! Dad! I'm bac-" my body stung in pain while I tried climbing off the mattress I was sleeping on. "What the-?" when I started seeing clearer, my jaw dropped. I couldn't believe it, my body was covered with bandages. I tried grabbing anything to help me maneuver off this dusty fabric-cased bed they call a mattress. After attempting to find something to grab on, my eyes closed due to the pain it brought to my skin.

While moving my arms I got of hold of something. It was warm and it was cloth? I gripped tightly on it and tried pushing myself upwards. Due to the sweat of my hands, the cloth I was holding slipped off making me fall on my back. But as I was about to fall on my back but I caught by the warm cloth I gripped on earlier.
I opened my eyes and saw...
You again.
=====
"L-let go of me!" I struggled to move out of his grasp but the more I move the tighter he holds.
"P-please let me explain!" Popee stuttered as he tried to make me face him, which in the end I did.
"I'm really sorry! This is all my fault, if I didn't threw the bomb a-at you then you should've-"
"Threw the bomb at me? So you're saying, the bomb exploded before me!?" After hearing what he just said, my eyes can't stop twitching from anger.
"Look I never would've thrown it at you if you weren't such a jerk earlier!" He looked away with a frown plastered on his face like child would do.
"Ohoho, so you're telling me that I'm the one at fault!?"
"Well, !"
"I can't believe I even listened to you! I was about to give you a chance but you just blew it all away-"
"I'm glad I did, cause I don't even wanna apologize to you, ugly face!"
"Damn you!"
"Um, guys?" A hoarse but comforting voice interrupted.
"" Popee and I shouted back in unison.
"Can't you guys just take a break?" Kedamono asks as the worried mask on his face was then replaced by a worried expression. Oh and also, he was holding a tray that contained three mugs.

"Fine." Popee dropped me while staring at Kedamono. As my back reached the mattress, the pain dug on my skin which made me hiss. Kedamono heard it, making him drop his tray of what it seems like hot chocolate.
"Popee!" Kedamono sighed.
"Ugh! I can't believe your taking her side."
"I'm not taking anybody's side, you know that." Kedamono spoke I'm such a stern manner, it actually scared me a bit.
"Whatever, I need some time out." Popee left, leaving a trace of an upsetting aura inside the tent we're in.
...
"Kedamono, you shouldn't have..." I opened my mouth and told him in guilt. "Now he'll be upset-"
"I-it's quite alright actually." Kedamono gave me a reassuring smile while he fiddled his fingers in a circular motion. I know he told me it was alright, but with those eyes I can tell he's not.
"Are you sure?"
"N-no, really! We fight all the time, it's like a thing we do everyday, haha" he scratched the back of his head as his previous fake smile was now replaced by a smiling one, but this time for sure I can tell it's true.
"You fight all the time?"
"All the time."
"Jeez, must've been hard huh?"
"It is but, you know what? It doesn't matter."
A moment of silence begun to surround us but faded by the time I answered back, "Why?"
"You see, I've known Popee ever since he was a little kid. And he's really a nice boy, he just doesn't want to show that side of his because he doesn't wanna look weak, especially around you."
"Around m-me?"
"Through out his whole life he's been pushed around by people. All of them thought he could never be a performer, but look at him now! He can perform amazing tricks just like what a professional performer does! But I gotta admit, he still have to learn a lot."
After hearing those words from a person that knows Popee, I felt a pinch of guilt. If I've known then I wouldn't have told him that he was bad at it... damn, I feel like a real jerk right now. I misjudged him for someone I thought he is but he's clearly not.
"Um miss, are you okay?"
"Y-yeah! But I have to apologize to someone, so can you please help me?"
"Oh no, no you shouldn't. I know you're eager to but you should rest and let your wound heal first."
"But he's upset!" I covered my mouth as soon as those words escaped. "I'm sorry Kedamono, I didn't mean to be rude..."
"Haha it's okay, how about tomorrow?"
"Hmm... tomorrow."
"Ahh so tomorrow it is." Kedamono smiled as he placed both his paws on his hips. "Well, I hope you get a good night sleep miss!" Kedamono waved as his tail wagged.
"W-wait!"
"Is there anything else you need?"
"(Y/N), my names (Y/N)."
"(Y/N) huh? That's a nice name."
"Thanks... yours too you know."
"Haha, well good night, sleep tight-"
"Don't let the bed bugs bite." I giggled while Kedamono only smiled.
Kedamono put off the lamp's light, leaving me in a dark and empty tent with nothing inside except me and this dusty mattress I'm laying on.
Before I leave...
I should stay for a while
And apologize
To
Him.

Manifesto
Sometimes, even the most outright affront to liberty seems to be justified under certain contexts. Or maybe I should stop reading about Stalin, I think it's affecting me.

The Weather Vane
This is the first few chapter of my new book available on Amazon. The beginning is very light and fun, but more mature content comes later. From medieval fantasy to ultra high-tech to dinosaurs, The Weather Vane is a grippingly fast-paced adventure full of fun and excitement, literary flourish, and colorful characters. A group of ascendant masters find themselves in the afterlife and learn that they are newly recruited into the cosmic battle of good versus evil. Before they can join the fight, shipwreck strikes and they are lost in the ether. Stranded in a magical land beyond the reaches of the universe, The Weather Vane follows our crew of heroes as they try to piece things back together even while The Dark Lord’s forces march, maraud, and murder at every turn. Themes of darkness chase the overall levity of The Weather Vane which suffers not a lull as the climax begins near the beginning of the book and drives on through the greatly satisfying finish. The most epic of epics.

KristSingto One Shots
Literally what the title is. So, it's technically self-explanatory. I write a lot of these one-shots when I get bored so I decided to post them
