When you had joined the Akatsuki you were still young. Younger than Deidara by a couple of months. Young as you were meant you were naive and could easily be manipulated. Pein took advantage of your naive yourself and sent Kakuzu to convince you to join.

You and Deidara were opposites. He was loud. You were reserved. He was mischievous, like a child or a teen rebelling against his parents. You were proper, acting as if you were older than you were. One thing you both had in common was you two were constantly looking for approval. Both wanted to be praised. Both wanted to please others. Both wanted to be recognized.

You wanted to be loved.

Your parents never loved you. You didn't get the love you needed as a child. That made you naive. You were constantly looking for approval. You did everything to make others happy. You loved it when they showed you gratitude or ruffled your hair as a child. You loved it when they praised you for being a good child.

As you turned to a teen you saw the boys and girls in your village holding hands or kissing and you yearned for that. You wanted to experience a romantic relationship. But you stopped yourself. You didn't want to risk it. You heard what happened when somebody experienced unrequited love. You didn't want to die just yet or lose the ability to love. Instead you read romantic novels and dreamed as if that was you.

At 18 you were assigned a mission from your village. You were on your way to the destination until a man with a mask approached you.

" How can I help you, sir?" You asked as you discreetly grabbed a kunai from your pocket.

" I've heard so much about you child. All good things. I came on behalf of the leader to invite you to join the Akatsuki."

" I am sorry sir but I have to decline your offer. I am loyal to my village." You responded.

" Oh. But I've heard you were exceptionally strong. Fierce in battle and near unstoppable. The Akatsuki would give you the chance to improve and surpass your limits. Your name would be recognized through out all the villages. You name would be praised and loved." Kakuzu said, emphasizing the word loved.

" Loved...." you whispered. " I-I change my mind, sir. I accept your offer." You said a little to quickly and happily.

"You've made a good choice child. You must be intelligent as well." Kakuzu complimented. He watched as you blushed and smile widely at him.

Your reaction was all he needed to know to figure out your weakness and he was going to exploit it for his own gain.

Within a week of joining the other members looked at you with pity but you didn't notice. You followed Kakuzu like a lost puppy. You did everything he asked of you. You brought him coffee. You did his bed. You made him breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A year in he tested his luck and asked for money. You happily brought out your money and asked him how much. He asked for half and you happily obliged. Instead of ruffling your hair and praising you like usual, he grabbed your cheek and placed a kiss on your lips.

" Your such a good girl. I could see myself fall in love with you." He muttered against your neck.

You looked at him with tear filled eyes. " Really?" You asked as you clutched onto his arm.

" Yes." He lied to you.

You leaned in for another kiss but he stood up and grabbed the money he just acquired from you and went to his desk to count.

" Close the door on your way out." He said with his back towards you.

You stood up and walked out his room, closing the door just as he had asked.

You were walking around the base with a love struck smile on your face. Itachi was drinking his tea and noticed your expression and knew.

" I would advise you to stay away from Kakuzu." He warned. He watched as your expression turned to confusion.

" Why?"

" He's not trustworthy and he's using you for his own gain." He clasped your hands gently. " He doesn't care nor love anybody. He just cares about his money."

You pulled away from his touch and got slightly offended. " You don't know him like I do and I can take care of myself. I don't need anybody looking over me."

You felt somebody lightly touch your waist and you turned around to see Kakuzu with a glare on his face. " Y/n could you be a dear and make me a cup of coffee."

" Yes Kakuzu." You hurriedly rushed to the kitchen to prepare it.

Itachi glared at Kakuzu who glared back.

" Mind your own business Uchiha."

" She's practically a child Kakuzu." Itachi said angrily.

" She's 19."

Itachi glared at him and left just as you were returning.

It's been a week since the kiss and you stood by his side even more. One night you awaited for his return. You sat with Hidan as he kept you company. You let out another yawn as you grew tired.

" He's probably at a brothel getting fucking laid or something. Just go to sleep. He isn't going to care if you are waiting for him." Hidan said as he snuggled into your lap trying to take a nap.

" Why would he be at a brothel?"

" He's a man. He's got manly needs. I doubt he asked you to have sex with him." He said with a yawn at the end.

"Oh" you said sadly. You slowly drifted off to sleep with Hidan. You didn't know for how long you and Hidan slept but you both were awoken by Kakuzu's shouts.

" You idiot I told you to stay away from her!" He shouted as he tugged you by the arm.

Hidan raised his arms up in defense. " Fucking chill! I was just keeping her company while she waited for your old ass."

Kakuzu let out an angry grunt before dragging you away with him. You entered his room as he angrily took off his mask and shirt before pulling out his money to count.

You stood there unsure until Hidan's earlier comments resurfaced your memory. You played with the hem of your shirt before tugging it off. Kakuzu didn't noticed as his back was towards you. You pulled your pants down and walked to him and sat on his lap.

He was about to ask what you were doing before his eyes stared at your almost bare body. Your face was flushed as you said, " I want to have sex with you Kakuzu. I-I love you."

Kakuzu smirked at your words before his hands gripped your waist roughly. His mouth kissed your neck as you held onto his shoulders. Your eyes were squeezed shut as you felt his mouth suck at your skin.

" I'm lucky to have a women like you." He praised. You felt the tears in your eyes appear when he praised you.

" Thank you Kakuzu" you whimpered out.

After you and Kakuzu had sex he drifted off to sleep without bothering to care after you. You didn't mind. You thought he must be tired after working all day. You were about to sleep when you felt something tickle your throat. You sat up in bed as you coughed into your elbow. You felt blood trickle down your lip and something on your elbow. You got up from bed and walked to the bathroom to see what you have coughed out. Your eyes widen at the bloody flower petals.

You frantically rushed to Kakuzu and shook him awake.

" What do you want!" He asked angrily.

You weren't able to respond as you sobbed. You only pointed to the bathroom. He rolled his eyes and walked over. He saw what you were crying about.

He kneeled down to you and petted your head. " That's what is making you cry like a child. Just wait a little longer and those petals should disappear. I'm close to falling in love with you."

" O-Okay." You croaked out. You wrapped your arms around Kakuzu as you weeped. He carried you back to bed and hugged your waist as you drifted off to sleep.

You and Kakuzu were assigned a mission together. You were happily walking alongside him. You hesitated but held his hand. He looked down to you with his eyebrow raised.

" The couples in my village held hands and I want to try it out..." you said shyly. He scoffed at your childish idea and pulled his hand away.

" It's a bit early for that." He said. You felt another cough begging to come out. You coughed silently and swallowed the petals. Your throat burned and you felt your eyes water at the pain. You wiped them away before smiling again.

You and Kakuzu were fighting the enemy. They had a tailed beast and you needed to capture them. The mission was more diffcult than usual. Instead of ending it instantly you had to seriously injure them to the point they can't move or knock them out. You took many hits and were positive you had a broken rib. Kakuzu took the most beatings as one of his hearts was destroyed by the enemy. You were about to deliver the final blow until the coughing came back again. The enemy noticed as he slung you against a tree. You gripped the grass as harsh coughs consumed you. You didn't know how long you were coughing for. All you knew it was long enough for Kakuzu to knock out the enemy.

He stood over you as more petals fell to the ground. When you stopped coughing he wiped the blood off your lips and caressed your cheek.

" How much do you love me?"

" I love you with all my heart." You answered as you clasped his hand that held your cheek.

" Would you do anything for me?" He asked.

" Anything and everything for you. I love you." You cried.

" That's good to know." He said menacingly. His hand that was holding your cheek slowly made its way to your neck and then suddenly he was harshly gripping at it. Your eyes widen at the realization he was choking you. He raised his arm to the air to take you off the ground. Your feet kicking in the air as your hands clutched as his arm.

" Kakuzu..... Stop......please....." you pleaded. Your face was turning blue at the lack of air.

" Thank you for everything. I will be sure to put your heart to good use" He said as he ruffled your hair for the last time.

You coughed out a red dahlia flower just as Kakuzu's hand went through your chest and took out your heart.

Kakuzu watched as your body fell to the ground littered with bloody flower petals you had coughed out earlier. He looked at his hand that held your heart.

" Be careful with who you love in your next life."
