☹︎
the second day. we arrived at eight and played our first two games, winning them both in straight sets.
we're off to the finals for the second year in a row.
we sit and watch the boys game, they're playing the boys karasuno team.
i observe their short middle blocker, to be honest i didn't think he would be much of a problem, until i saw him jump.
my eyes widen at his speed and his vertical, it's almost super human. their setter is amazing too, his precise sets make the ginger even faster. even Tendou can barely keep up with them.
my eyes lock onto their libero, a short guy with spiky black hair with a highlight of yellow in the front. he's able to receive Ushijima's serves and hits.
"this isn't good." i mutter to our libero.
"why's that?" she asks.
"they're going to lose." i state bluntly. she shakes her head.
"it's pretty much impossible for anyone in this prefecture to beat Ushijima, [name]. i wouldn't worry about it." she says.
"sure, they can't beat Ushijima. but what about the rest of the team?" i shrug, turning my attention back to the game.
⋅⋄∘∙∵⦁✧
the ginger jumps, ready for a back row attack. the setter tosses to him and he spikes, ending the game.
my team stares in disbelief, i myself am not surprised. karasuno was more polished, and they didn't rely on just one player. i stand and walk out first, everyone else following solemnly behind me.
we make our way down to the court to get ready for our game, passing the celebrating karasuno team on the way.
most of our team goes to console the boys team. i don't. i'd rather get some receives in, though i do give Semi a sympathetic look.

i call one of my teammates over to pepper with me until we start warming up.
"don't hit to hard, you might break my wrists." she says jokingly. i laugh a little then set the ball to her.
after awhile the other team arrives.
"about time." my peppering partner sighs. "who are we playing anyways?"
"i think it's aoba johsai." i say, pointing at their jerseys.
"we lost to them last year, didn't we?" she inquires. i nod, remembering it all to well.
they were at set point, on mistake and it was over. i was given the last set, i panicked and got blocked. usually i would have been able to aim around the blockers, but when i was a first year under that much pressure? no. i definitely couldn't.
they look very confident and collected. they hold their head up high, enjoying the cheers that echo through the gym for them.
their team captain, one of the best hitters i've seen. their setter, extremely skilled and connected with their teammates. their libero, can receive pretty much any ball. and last but not least, their pinch server. a shorter girl with a powerful jump serve, shes a third year. all of their blockers are good too, they're an all around skilled team.
my teammates leave the boys team and begin warming up. i'm about to join them, but my captain calls me over to the bench. i jog over and take a seat beside her.
"we're relying on you today [name]." she admits, intertwining her fingers. "you're our strongest hitter by far, we need you." i nod.
"i'll do my best." i asserted. she nods and motions for me to start the warm up.
"you'll serve first if we win the coin toss!" she calls after me. i nod at her.

twenty minutes later the ref blows his whistle. our captains go to shake hands and flip the coin. i wait patiently in our huddle until our captain joins us.
"your up to serve first [name]."
all the attention is turned to me as i nod at her, we do our cheer and walk to our positions on the court.
the ball is rolled to me and i mentally prepare myself to serve. the whistle blows are the gym goes silent. i exhale and throw the ball up, starting my approach i jump and hit the ball as hard as my body would let me.
it flys past their libero.
the first point goes to shiratorizawa.

The Mystifying Diviner
Content warning, there is cursing in the story and there will be some pretty heavy sexual innuendos in it also. I don’t really plan to write gore, but there will be fight scenes. Fair warning to readers, it is a slow start. But hopefully it is enjoyable for you to read. Follow the story of an old chef who was lucky to be selected to become a system host. Well maybe not so lucky, because gaining the system killed him. He will be given a system that might not be the best match for him. While also having to deal with a snarky system monitor who might not be that helpful most of the time. He will also use his new found powers to enjoy life in a new younger body. What you can expect from this story is bad writing, poor grammar, and slow pacing maybe. Food, cooking, comedy, slice of life, fighting, exploring, tournaments, scamming and probably face slapping. I mean who doesn’t like a good face slapping? This is my take on a cultivation story, a lot of Eastern stuff will be crammed into with a mix of Western. This story started as a goal for myself to write 60,000 words in a month for NaNoWriMo. I was able to do it even with taking days off and not writing. I plan to keep writing the story, but at a slightly slower pace. I am aiming for 2-3 chapters a week now with about 4-7k words written. This is only posted on RoyalRoad currently, and I have no plans to change that for now. Cover art is by Jack0fheart [Participant in the 2021 Royal Road Writathon Challenge for the month of November 2021]

Truck-kun Gets Sacrificed
Driscoll is my own version of a world with a game-like "system" of endless possibilities. MC has his own status, classes, skills, magic, and a living greatswordstaff in a world of monsters, demi-humans of all kinds, and even the supernatural. Sound good? Well, at first for Tru, it was a dream come true(I'm sorry). At least until reality hits him again and again. His quest from God is vague and must be discovered by him along the way. Hopefully, he can figure that out someday but for now, this new world's threats and his potential for power are motivation aplenty. With His new partner by his side, he's ready to embark on his mission of infinite sacrifice, however many lives it takes. The setting is pretty standard for fantasy, with my beginner attempts at writing. Litrpg elements are definitely involved here but It'll calm down as the story progresses and the world's foundation is laid. Judeo/Christian themes and principles take a major role and will be a backbone for much of the story. The fights will paint a picture in the mind rather than just be a bunch of number crunching. While he is meant to be a sacrifice to save all of Driscoll, he needs to gain enough power and influence to be a worthwhile sacrifice, or so he thinks. And so carnage will ensue as he avoids death as best he can while at the same time sacking himself for others. Truck Coon is your average determined, jiu-jitsu practitioner, tax associate that just started his new career. He dies to save kids from a semi-truck(Truck Coon got truck-kun'd, making him Truck-kun) and is transported to another world rather conventionally by God. Upon his arrival, he is quickly confronted with his first conflicts in the wild. Give it a shot and let me know what you think. Chapters are currently between 2300 and 4000 words and I try to post weekly, but also deal with severe limitations that cause late posts often. I have zero actual experience with writing stories and only recently started reading web novels in 2020. If you end up hating it, let me know your thoughts in a detailed comment or review, especially if you love it though :D I want to get better and welcome the feedback, so expect changes to be made with any flaws that y'all point out which I don't already have plans to address in future chapters. That being said, keep it constructive in nature, please. I have no Idea how the formatting and such will go, so if you like or dislike some techniques I try, give me that well-appreciated feedback! Thank you for reading.
