I took a deep breath before finally knocked the door.
"Itachi?"
Itachi opened the door, stared at me. His hand covered his mouth. "Sorry, am I bothering you?" he asked.
I quickly shook my head. "No! Not at all!"
"Then, what do you want?"
"Uh... Are you okay?"
"Your question is always the same" he coughed. "I'm used to it, don't worry too much about me"
"Let me help you". Itachi opened his mouth, I was sure he would refuse. Before he could say anything, I cut him off. "Please, Itachi. I'm Akatsuki's medic"
Itachi sighed and opened the door wider, letting me in.
He sat on his bed and told me to sit next to him. I put my hand on his chest and started to heal him.
"You don't have to feel obligated to take care of me" Itachi said.
"I don't feel obligated"
We sat there in awkward silence. "I'm sorry" I started, breaking the silence. Itachi gave me a questioning look.
"About earlier..." I said quitely.
"Don't apologize if you didn't do anything wrong"
"I didn't mean to remind you of what happened to... I'm sorry!" Smart. Smart, (Y/N).
"It doesn't affect me anymore. I have no feeling now" His voice sounded tired and plain.
"You're human, of course you have feelings" I replied.
Itachi closed his eyes. "I'm a monster"
"You're not"
"You don't know anything about me" Itachi blurted.
"You're right, I don't know anything about you" I nodded. "But I believe you have your own reason. You must be hurt too"
Itachi opened his eyes and our gazes met. His eyes say it all. I can see he is carrying all the burdens alone. I don't know why but my heart throbbed in pain.
Itachi grabbed my wrist. "Enough. I feel better now". I let of as soon as the electricity of his touch rushed all through me.

"...Okay. I'll go back to my room, then" I got up and walked towards the door.
"(Y/N)" I stopped and turned my head. "Thank you" Itachi continued.
I smiled at him, closed the door and returned to my room.
* * *
The next morning, I walked towards the room where the members gathered. A room with some old sofas and a large table in the middle. I opened the door and greeted some of the members who were already there.
"Good morning, (Y/N)" a large grin decorates Kisame's face as he greeted me. "Breakfast?" he handed me a packet of biscuits.
"Thank you" I smiled. Kisame smiled back and unwrapped his second biscuit.
"I'm sick of this" Hidan complained and threw his biscuits.
"Me too, hm" Deidara replied. "I'll buy some food"
"No! it costs money" Kakuzu forbade. Hidan and Deidara groaned.
"C'mon, Kakuzu! We've been eating this for breakfast for 4 months! For f*cking 4 months!" Hidan yelled.
I was shocked. They ate the same food for breakfast for4 months? It's funny and sad at the same time. Hidan, Deidara and Kakuzu start arguing. Tobi joined by saying he wanted to eat candy for breakfast. I saw Sasori sighed in annoyance. Itachi closed his eyes and massaged his temples.
"How about I make some breakfast for us?" I offered.
"You can cook?". "Do you really want to do that for us?" Hidan and Deidara asked simultaneously.
I nodded and immediately went to the kitchen. I winced at the dusty state of the kitchen. Looks like they never used this kitchen. I checked the cooking utensils and viands. Dusty cooking utensils, few foodstuffs. Great.
I decided to wash the cooking utensils first.
"Need any help?"
I almost jumped when I heard Itachi's voice behind me.

"N...No, thanks" I stuttered. Suddenly I feel nervous, my heart is beating faster. I'm becoming more awkward than I could handle.
Itachi didn't respond, but I could tell he was still standing there.
"You don't have to do this" Itachi said.
"Is it wrong if I make breakfast?"
"You're not our maid"
"I don't feel like a maid. I do this because I want to" I wiped my hands.
Itachi lets out a sigh then leave. I started preparing food. With limited ingredients, I can only make simple dishes. Onigiri and tamagoyaki, I hope they don't mind. Kisame helped me to bring all the food to the table.
"Finally, real food!" Hidan shouted.
"I hope you don't mind, not many ingredients in the kitchen" I said.
"It's okay, (Y/N). Thanks for the food" Kisame said, makes me a little relieved.
"It's been a long time since I ate home cooked meals, hm" Deidara told me. "Thanks, hm"
"Kid"Kakuzu called me. "You'll go with me tomorrow"
"Um, where?" I asked him.
"Market" Kakuzu answered shortly. Ah, looks like he's taking me grocery shopping so I can cook for us.
"Okay!" I said happily.
Suddenly, Tobi grabbed my hand. "Tobi will go with (Y/N)!!"
"No, you stay here. You will spend money buying things that are not important" Kakuzu stated. Tobi started to whine.
"Tobi" I called him. "I'll go with Kakuzu tomorrow, but I promise I'll buy you candy, okay? So stay here and be a good boy"
Tobi gasped. "(Y/N) is super good girl!!" he spread his arms wide, ready to hug me. Kisame immediately blocked him. "You don't have to hug her all the time" Kisame said firmly.
"You're acted like her protective older brother, Kisame" Deidara laugh.
Kisame looked at me for a few seconds and grinned. "She would be ashamed to have an older brother like me"
I frowned and shook my head "I wouldn't! Actually, I would be very happy to be your sister". Kisame patted my head. "Glad to hear that"

The Everlasting. (Completed)
An Everlasting. A title given to those who have reached a state closest to godhood. Be it through might and power or through love and compassion. These beings hold great influence over the realms. This story is about Asura, a young orphaned child, who was taught the way of the blade and has mastered the Warrior Arts at a very young age. Given a recommendation by his master, Asura ventures out to broaden his horizons and to learn magic. Follow Asura’s journey and his quest to reach Everlastinghood. Comment by the author: Looking at the chapter list, you might have noticed Volume 1 is not there. The reason is that it’s in the process of being published so I’m somewhat restricted in where and how I can post it. Edit. 18/04/2017 The first volume is now officially on sale. It is no longer possible to get the first volume for free. I am sorry but it was free for a long time and it was time for it. However if you like to support me you can find th first volume here on Amazon (getBook.at/TheEverlasting) Compared to other stories on Royal Road this one is faster paced. No artificial extensions of the story by spending forever in generic constructs, like random ranking tournaments, that don’t really matter for the overall plot. That’s the plan anyway. Volumes consist roughly of 30-35k words. Additionally: I am not a native speaker, nor have I had any formal education in the English language. I am trying very hard to improve myself. If you want to help me by proofreading my story, shoot me a PM and we’ll see if we can arrange something. Other than my thanks and fake internet points I can’t offer anything, though. Yeah, poor student here… Edit 22/06/2017 Hey the story is officially ended if i ever decide to continue it will be on another date. The ending is open for anyone to use their imagination. Thank you all for the support. I hope we could meet later in the Everlasting II. Respectfully Biako

(I am in the process of rewriting/refurbishing this long story from one I wrote long ago and saved on my computer, into first person. I abandoned it many years ago. It will take time to figure everything out again and make the right changes. The Prologue/first chapter is supposed to be in third person)
