"Y/N! It's nice to see you again!" Priya smiled at me as Brendan and I walked up to our seats. We sat down in our respective seats since the game wasn't starting for an hour. She rested her sunglasses over her head and looked at us.
"It's good to see you again, Priya." I laughed as I sat down in my seat and slipped on my baseball cap.
"And you must be Brendan! It's very nice to finally meet you." Priya outstretched her hand and Brendan shook it.
"It's nice to meet you, Priya." Brendan shook her hand as he looked at the two of us. "If you don't mind me asking, how do you know each other?"
"She and I were good friends from college," I smiled and she rolled her eyes sarcastically. "Plus, she's going out with Bryce."
"Yeah, if you guys want," She put the sunglasses on since the sun was glaring in her eyes and looked at us, "we can go out to eat after the game is over...Does that sound okay with you guys?"
We nodded our heads and smiled, "yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Considering the game is starting in 15 minutes and we have to sit down for 3 hours."

It was the bottom of the ninth inning and the score was currently tied between the Nationals and Blue Jays. Sanchez was up for the pitching for the Jays while Bryce was up at the plate for the Nationals. He swung his bat as practice as he walked up to the plate. Sanchez kept focus on his pitch as he swung the ball at Bryce and he got a strike. He had got another strike and this was his last chance for getting a score in the ninth inning. Bryce confidently held the bat in his hand as he continued to chew the gum in his mouth.

Sanchez threw the ball towards Bryce's direction and he swung the bat at the right moment, causing the ball to fly in the sky and all the fielders out in the diamond were trying to search for the ball, but to no avail could they find it anywhere near the field. Bryce took advantage of the moment and decided to run all the bases, which was basically a home run.
The crowd in the ballpark roared as he went back to the dugout and let the next batter go out to the home plate. Now, the score was 7-6 in favor of the Nationals.
Pretty soon, the game ended and the Nationals won the game, making everybody in the D.C. happy since they were first place in the NL East as of right now and they had defeated one of the rivals in the National League. The jumbotron was displaying the players who were on the pitch and one of them was Bryce, who was acting like the person from the painting 'The Scream'.
We all laughed at his reaction and shook our heads before we decided to head out and go ahead to the restaurant.
---
"Am I too late?" I saw Bryce smirk as he quietly entered the restaurant in some casual clothes and had wore sunglasses to keep his identity a secret so no one knew who he was.
He walked up to our table and took a seat next to Priya while I took my seat next to Brendan.
"Nice game back at the Park, bro." I quietly giggled as he looked up at me in shock.
"Y/N? What are you doing here?" Bryce was surprised that I was in front of him. I shook my head in amusement and rolled my eyes sarcastically.
"Surprise! And I also am here with Brendan." I smiled at him while I nudged towards Brendan.

"How's it going, Bryce?" Brendan did his little secret handshake he had with Bryce and chuckled to himself.
"I'm doing well. How are you doing, Brendan?" Bryce nodded his head and Brendan replied back to him about his season with the Habs.
"Awh, that's too bad that your team isn't in the playoffs this year..." Bryce frowned at Brendan before he shook his head. "But, today is your birthday! You're turning 24!"
I looked at Brendan with a smile while he had a pout on his face, "what's wrong with turning 24, Brendan?"
"I don't like the fact that I'm growing old..." Brendan fake pouted and I rolled my eyes at him.
"Weren't you like that when you turned 23 last year, Y/N?" Bryce giggled as he took a sip of his glass of water and I growled at him.
"Not as bad as when you were crying over your childhood haircuts while Mom was showing us the old family albums..." I teased him as I took a sip of my drink and he scowled at me.
"I thought you weren't going to tell anyone about that anymore..." Bryce mumbled as he blushed a light pink and I shook my head.
Bryce and I were bickering for a few minutes before it was time to move on and continue with the dinner.
---
It was dessert time and we had ordered birthday cake for Brendan since it was his birthday. We sang 'Happy Birthday' to Brendan as he closed his eyes to think of a birthday wish to come true for him. As soon as we ended singing, he opened his eyes and blew out the candles, making us quietly clap.
"What did you wish for, Brendan?" Priya asked Brendan as she helped me take the 24 individual candles out of the cake.
"Oh, my birthday wish already came true..." Brendan smiled at me as I looked at him with a blush.
"Really?" I mumbled as I sat back down and he nodded his head.
He got out of his chair and turned to face me before he kneeled down on one knee and took a box out of his pocket.
"Crap, I forgot to write a romantic speech!" Brendan groaned while I giggled before he shook it off, "I know that it didn't matter that much, but I just have this one question that may change our lives. Y/N, will you do me the honor and marry me?"
I nodded my head since words couldn't come out of my mouth due to the fact that Brendan had proposed. Brendan had a smile that went from ear-to-ear while stood up from the floor and slipped the ring on its designated finger.
I saw the two of them clap at the moment that Brendan and I had shared before I heard a sniffle coming from Bryce.
"Bryce, are you crying?" I smirked at him as he wiped the tears from his eyes.
"What! No! I was not uh crying!" He sniffled and gave me a playful scowl.
"Oh come on! Just admit it, Bryce!" I urged him to admit it before he sighed and nodded his head.
"Alright! I was crying at the cute moment you and Brendan just had..." Bryce mumbled as I giggled at him.
"I love you so much, Y/N." I heard Brendan whisper in my ear and I smiled softly at him.
"I love you too, Brendan." I whispered back to him before I placed a gentle kiss on his cheek.

Ode to Fallen Angels
Jericho, the land of humanity, squirms in pain. Magic has been forbidden for so long in this so called "Age of Silence", that all Arcane knowledge has been presumed lost and irrecoverable, and the echoes of God's Will grow fainter with every passing year. The sight of Demihuman caravans is less frequent every day, as the likes of orcs and elves have learned to no longer beg for help from those who despise them. Clearly, they can expect more from the voracious wild lands than from humankind. Many have succumbed to despair, some driven mad by their fruitless efforts to bring back a Golden Age that they only ever read about in books. And in the middle of it all, in an old chapel lost in the Eastern lands, young Gabrielle lives in complete ignorance. She is another orphan living under the mercy of the Church of the Saints; one bearing the mark of evil in her red hair, the telltale sign of a Witch. In an Age of the Silent, the Prejudiced, and the Hateful, she clings to a single hope: that one day, be it in life or maybe after it all ends, she may find herself forgiven of her sin. The sin of being born.
