"Doctor L/N, your next patient is ready for you..." My nurse practitioner, Kelly smiled at me as I got my files ready and nodded my head.
"Thanks for the heads up, Kelly!" I sarcastically rolled my eyes before I walked up to the room where my current patient was located and I gently knocked on the door.
"Hello? Can I come in?" I softly whispered as I heard someone say yes and I quietly opened the door and entered the room.
"Hi, I'm Doctor L/N and you must be..." I looked at my file to check the patient's name. "Dmitry Orlov?"
He nodded his head and replied in a thick Russian accent, "that would be me."
I smiled at him as I walked over to the sink and quickly washed my hands.
"And what seems to be the problem today, Mr. Orlov?" I got the stack of files as I quickly checked his vitals and looked at him with a puzzled look on my face.
"I have a headache that's been lingering since last night when I was in Philly..."
"And how did that exactly occur, Mr. Orlov?"
"Let's just say that my head made contact with the boards...But, I've been feeling the repercussions of the hit since today morning..."
I nodded my head as I wrote down everything that he had been telling me and I looked at him. "Dmitry, it sounds like to me that you may have either a concussion or a mild one..."
Dmitry nodded his head and looked at me, "would you like for me to get the test done?"
I smiled and looked at him, "I can advise you to take the test...Would you like to take it today?"

"I think that's a good option for me, especially since the team I play for is asking me about my condition..." Dmitry smiled at me and I quickly opened the door just a crack and asked if I could have a laptop to administer the imPACT test for his possible concussion.
---
"Ok, I got the results of the test, Mr. Orlov!" I smiled as I looked down at the piece of paper that I had printed to tell me the diagnosis.
"Ok, what seemed to be the problem, Doctor?" Dmitry looked at me with a worried face as I slowly and carefully read the piece of paper that was in my hands.
"It seems to be that you do have a mild concussion, according to the test, Dmitry." I handed him the results and he read it. "I can write a note for the Caps to tell them about your condition if you want me to."
"That'd be helpful. Thank you, Doctor L/N." Dmitry softly chuckled as he slipped his sunglasses on his face and I handed him the note.
"I hope to see you again soon, Dmitry." I smiled as I opened the door for him and he laughed.
"How does next Monday sound, Doctor?" He jokingly flirted with me as my cheeks heated up a little bit.
"Sounds good to me, Dmitry!"

The Undead Revolution
This was my first attempt at writing a story, in hiatus indefinitely. This story follows Silvy, half-elf, a rare race despised by both humans and elves. Having never met her father, the first years of her life were spent together with her mother, who had to leave her native village because of the blasphemy she had committed by giving birth to Silvy. At the age of eight, Silvy became an orphan and was left to fend for herself. Her mother had died of illness, Silvy’s life turning upside down: the child went from living in a modest but cozy home with poor but daily meals to live outside the walls in the slums, where crime was commonplace and food was scarce. Luck had yet to abandon her completely though, because a group of orphans like Silvy decided to help, integrating her into their group and teaching the tricks of the trade; that is, stealing and swindling. But fate had not yet finished playing with her. Kidnapped and frightened, her life will turn upside down again when she awakens as undead, but still able to think clearly.

An Unwavering Craftsman
Given the hereditary nature of classes, everyone expects Damien—the child of two high-tiered adventurers—to be granted a high-tier combat class of his own. Expectations are betrayed, however, when Damien finds himself instead saddled with a crafting class of the lowest possible tier: [Neophyte Tailor]. Left practically crippled compared to those with better classes, Damien wants to avoid becoming a pawn in the machinations of the nobility, desiring only to grind his level in peace while wondering why the usual rules of inheritance were broken. Was it his desire to excel by his own effort, rather than an unearned blessing from a god? Did the Five take offence at his opinions on the unfairness of hereditary classes? Or maybe it was something to do with the alien voice that intruded on his ceremony? A voice that offers great power, and freedom from the tyranny of the Five, but that never names its price. This story is litRPG-lite. While the class someone possesses controls most of their lives, people don't get dinged at for every level they gain, nor can they see their status without undergoing a special ritual. The MC has no romantic interest. Crafting is merely a way to game the system, and doesn't feature heavily in the story, aside from a few descriptions on how they're carrying out the system abuse. There is, on one unfortunate occasion, maths. The pace is quick. This was a participant in the Spring 2022 writathon. (i.e. it was posted as-written at high speed. I may give it another editing pass in the future.)
