I wish Jonathan was here today but unfortunately, he was on a road trip to the East Coast and I was stuck back in Chicago due to my job. It was a really crappy day for me. The boss yelled at me for no apparent reason, I spilt my drink on my shoes, and I was on a time-cram to finish an assignment that was due before I left work.

When I got back to the penthouse, I immediately set my bag on the kitchen counter and kicked my shoes off before I ran upstairs to the bedroom. I changed into something comfortable and I grabbed my MacBook before I jumped onto the bed. I carefully set the MacBook in front of me while I laid on my stomach and opened up FaceTime.

I clicked on the app and I typed up Johnny's contact name, which came up and I clicked on that. The dial tone rang for a few seconds before his face came up on the screen.

"Hey, sweetheart!" Jonathan said with a smile, which faltered after he saw my dull face. "Y/N, what happened?"

"I just had a bad day at work today and I don't know, I just miss you so much..." Salty tears started to flow out of my eyes and Jonathan's face softened.

"Do you want to tell me what happened at work today, sweetie?"

I nodded my head and started to list off all the bad things that happened at work today and he was caring and really listened to me, even though he looked a little distracted.

"Jonathan, honey, are you feeling alright?" I looked into the screen as he was squirming around in his plane seat.

"Oh-what-yeah, I'm feeling alright! Never been any better!" He smiled fakely and I looked at him with a suspicious face.

"Are you sure?"

"Y/N, trust me! Oh, I have to go, the plane landed in Boston...I'll talk to you later in a few hours, sweetheart. I love you!"

"I love you too, Jonathan. Bye..." I blew a kiss to the camera before I ended the call.

When I closed the app, I opened up the internet and went onto Netflix. I put on my headphones and clicked on the most recent show I was watching, which was "Friends". I was watching the episode where Phoebe was trying to teach Joey how to speak French when I heard the door open and then slammed shut.

I paused the episode and took my headphones off before I jumped out of the bed and grabbed one of Jonathan's hockey sticks he forgot to pack up. I slowly got out the door and carefully walked down the stairs while I held it both of my hands.

When I saw the figure showing his back towards me, I slowly walked towards him and when he turned, I was startled to see Jonathan with his luggage.

"Jonathan!? Aren't you supposed to be in Boston right now?" I dropped the hockey stick and attacked him with a hug.

"I was missing you too much that I talked with Coach Q and he agreed for me to spend a few days with you..." He chuckled as he softly kissed my cheek.

"I'm so glad you're here today, Johnny. Thank you for making me feel better..." I mumbled into his chest as I drew patterns on his muscular arms.

"No problem, sweetheart. You are my first priority, hockey is my second." Jonathan kissed my temple and smiled.

"I love you so much, Jonathan Bryan Toews..." My eyes started to droop and I was practically knocked out when Jonathan said 'I love you' back to me.
