My phone had made a 'beep' noise, causing me to excuse myself from the conversation that I was having with my best friend. Taking my phone out, I unlocked the phone and opened my messages.

There was one from my boyfriend, Markus.

It read, 'Hey, can you come home quick? I know you're out with B/F/N, but I got some news... 😪'

Looking up at B/F/N, she had tears streaming down her face. "I know what happened, Y/N..."

I was beyond confused and I had no clue. "B/F/N, w-what happened?"

"I think you have to talk with Markus about that, Y/N. I-I'll see you in a few hours."

And just like that, I found myself getting up and walking out the door, looking at B/F/N worriedly.

"Marky? I'm home!" I yelled as I set my car keys into the bowl and hung up my coat. Taking my shoes off, I saw Markus coming down the stairs with a look of sadness. "Markus, is everything alright?"

He was stammering and avoided my eye contact before I walked up to him and lifted his chin with my thumb.

"Kari Markus Granlund, tell me what happened? Please?" I pleaded like a little girl wanting cookies for dinner.

"I-I got traded..." He quietly mumbled, looking at my E/C eyes.

"Wh-what?"

"I got traded to Vancouver today. The GM just called me a few minutes ago, telling me about it."

My jaw dropped open while my mind was running through thoughts.

"So, what's going to happen with us?" I muttered, resting my head on his chest, listening to his calm heartbeat.

"We're not breaking up, if that's what you're wondering, Y/N...." He softly whispered into my ear before he lifted my chin up and softly kissed my lips.

"W-what do you mean, Markus?"

"I want you to move to Vancouver with me."

"W-what?"

"Will you move with me to Vancouver? I understand if you wanted to stay in Calgary for now, but it's just we've been dating for a long time now an-"

He was rambling on and on before I shut him up with a sweet yet rough kiss.

"Yes, I will move to Vancouver with you, Markus." I whispered onto his lips, pecking them one more time before I grabbed my winter coat and car keys.

"Where are you going?" Markus smiled and I laughed.

"I'm just going to get some cardboard boxes for the moving process..."

"Oh, well...I love you, Y/N."

"I love you too, Markus."
