"Oh my god, every time I watch this movie, the ending always just breaks my heart...." I sniffled, grabbing a Kleenex from the coffee table, dabbing my eyes and blew my nose. "What did you think about The Notebook, Jared?"
Looking over to my right, I found my boyfriend, Jared McCann, asleep and snoring away.
"Jared?" I softly whispered, but then I quietly face-palmed myself.
That's right, he had a late-night practice with a few of the guys and he was tired....
Getting up from the couch, I turned off the TV and I grabbed "Paper Towns" from the bookshelf, walking back to my seat and I started to read for a while.
Obviously, I was getting bored and bored by the minute, so I put the bookmark back in the book and I got my phone out, secretly taking a picture of Jared sleeping, and put it away.
I sighed, with nothing better to do; a lightbulb came off in my mind. I strode over to my study, where my MacBook, nail polish, and other stuff were, grabbing a few bottles of nail polish and walked back.
Sitting down on the couch, I laid my non-dominant hand on the table and shook the polish bottle, opening it and set the bottle on the table. I painted my nails with F/C polish from F/NP/B (Favorite Nail Polish Brand). Reciprocating the action with painting my dominant hand, a mischievous smile came upon my face, another lightbulb going off while the topcoat was drying.
I gently grabbed one of Jared's hands, bringing them closer on the table and I started to prep his nails before I started to paint them a shade of blue similar to the Canucks colors.
Eventually, I started to get tired, so I just left it like that in case he was angry and I snuggled up to Jared, giving his cheek a kiss before I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

"Y/N! WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY NAILS!?" I heard Jared scream from our shared en-suite, causing me to wake up and charge up there.
I quickly ran up there, just to find Jared staring at his hands in the mirror.
"What did you do!?" Jared squeaked out, slowly turning around to face me.
"I might've gotten a bit bored last night after watching The Notebook, so I painted my nails and yours...." I nervously giggled but stopped after looking at his glare.
"We got team breakfast in an hour, is there anyway that I can get these off?"
"I ran out of nail polish remover....Sorry, McCann!"
"What! Are you actually serious?"
"Nah, I'm just messing with 'ya. There's some in my study...."
"Thank you, but I'll get back at you somehow...."
"Love you, McCann!"
"Love you too, L/N!"

It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.
