《Hockey Imagines》Connor Murphy ~ AC

"I still can't believe you booked us a vacation to Paris for our anniversary, Connor..."
"You've been telling me how much you wanted to visit the City of Love with the one you love truly, so I thought why not?"
Connor came up to me, kissing my forehead and looked out the hotel window of the beautiful view. My boyfriend, Connor Murphy, had booked us a vacation to Paris, France for our 5 year anniversary. Smiling at the view of Connor looking at the beautiful sight of Paris, I sneakingly got out of his grasp and ran to the bathroom to take a shower, since we were sitting on an airplane for 12 hours and 15 minutes. I heard the door open and close, but nobody was there, causing me to be suspicious.
After the nice and relaxing shower, I went over to see what happened by the door when I found a beautiful coral high-low dress and a post-it note from Connor.
"Dear Y/N,
Sorry for leaving you alone. I've arranged a ride for you at the next destination.
Au revoir et Je t'aime... Conn
I got dressed, curled my hair slightly, and didn't bother with the makeup. Grabbing the post-it note, I got out of the bathroom and walked out of the hotel room, locking it. Speed-walking to the elevator, I pushed the down button and patiently waited. As soon as the elevator made its 'ding' noise, I quickly walked inside and pressed the the ground floor button, waiting for the floor to come up.
When the ground floor appeared, I ran out of the elevator to the front lobby. I saw a sign that had my name, but who held it was too ironic. How did Tobias all get to Paris?
I walked over to where they stood, laughing to myself. He was dressed up like a chauffeur and I wondered if Connor had put him up to this.
"Hey Tobias! When did you get to Paris?" I smiled, giving him a hug before pulling away.
"We were actually were on the same plane as you and Connor..." He smiled, grabbing my hand and walked me over to the rental car he had.

"Really? But I didn't see you guys..."
"That's because we were in disguise... He didn't want us to blow our covers..."
"That makes sense... So, Connor left me this post-it note?"
"Ahh, yes! He wants me to drive you to the Arc de Triomphe?"
I shrugged, telling him that he can drive me. The whole way there, it was just filled of stories about the flight to Paris. When we got there, he opened the door for me and he told me he had to go somewhere. I hugged him goodbye and got out of the car, carefully setting my feet onto the cement since I was wearing some pretty uncomfortable heels.
Walking around the Champs-Elysees, I felt taps on my shoulders and I had a mini-freak out.
"Whoever it is, I have a boyfriend!" I turned around to find Anthony and Max in front of me with a bouquet of roses and a box of chocolates.
"Geez, relax! It's just us, Max Domi and Anthony Duclair!" Anthony rolled his eyes while Max handed me the stuff. "It's just some gifts from loverboy..."
"Gee, a hello would've sufficed..." I sarcastically mumbled but smiled.
"Sorry, I was seated next to a person who was whining about MISSING THEIR DOG a LOT..." Anthony emphasised on 'missing their dog a lot', meaning he was hinting towards Max.
"Hey! In my defense, I was worried whether or not Dylan would be responsible with Orion..." Max raised his hands, making a smirk face.
"Anyways... Do you guys have any idea where Connor is?" I glared at them, sighing at the constant bickering back and forth between the two.
"Oh, he wants you to go to the Pont des Arts..." Anthony spoke up before continuing his playful argument with Max.
"Ok...I guess I'll see you guys later?" I waved goodbye to the two.
I started my walk to the Pont des Arts, which took about 50 minutes to get there due to the crowded streets. Once I got there, I just viewed the river Seine before I felt another tap on my shoulder.

"I swear, if anyone touches me one more-" I annoyingly sighed and turned around to find Oliver and Mikkel. "Oliver? Mikkel? Let me guess, Connor put you up to this?"
They both nodded their head 'yes' and Mikkel handed me a box.
"Apparently, Connor wanted us to give this to you..." Mikkel gently handed me the box and I carefully took it from him, opening the box to find a necklace that had a lock but the key was missing.
"That's so sweet of him...Do you guys have any idea where I'm supposed to meet him?" I asked the two of them while I clasped on my necklace, looking at them for hope.
"Oh yeah, he wants us to take you to the Eiffel Tower! Come on!" Oliver grabbed my hand, walking me over to the same car Tobias used to drove me to the Arc de Triomphe.
The car ride only took about 10-12 minutes and luckily, the boys got me to the base of the tower, before they ran off to the stairs. I once again, shrugged and took the elevator to the top of the tower. Once I got there, my hands flew up to my mouth. There stood Connor in a suit, holding out a chair and was waiting for me.
"Connor, did you do all this?" I was awestruck, taking a look around the tower and seeing what Connor had did, he truly outdid himself. I walked out of the elevator and carefully walked up to the table.
"Just for you, amoureux..." He winked, giving my cheek a kiss. "Our dinner awaits us, sweetheart."
I sat down and he gently pushed my chair in before he walked over to his side of the table, kissing my hand.
Out of nowhere, Anthony and Max came up to us with the main courses.
"For Monsieur Connor, Moules Marinières... And for Mademoiselle Y/N, Hachis Parmentier." Anthony had announced the dishes as Max set them down and opened the cloches.
We thanked the boys before they left us in peace. Connor and I reminisced the sweet and funny moments of our relationship throughout the 5 years during the dinner and it went by real fast in my opinion.
Dessert time rolled on by and this time, it was Oliver and Mikkel who brought the dishes out to us.
"A chocolate mousse for the miss and a creme brulee for the mister." Oliver gently set the dishes before he passed a box to Connor. "And your 'bill', sir."
Mikkel gave Connor a quick thumbs up before walking out of the scene.
"Alright, what was that all about?" I asked Connor, who shall I say, was sweating profusely and he was blushing.
"I-uh-will you marry me?" Connor stuttered before getting out of his chair and walked up beside my chair, dropping my knee.
"Wh-what?" I gasped, my hands covering the muffled sobs trying to escape out of my mouth.
"Y/N L/N, will you please do me the honor? Will you marry me?"
Tears flowed straight out of my eyes and I was at a loss for words, so I decided to nod my head.
"Yes, yes I will marry you, Connor..." I smiled teary-eyed, causing Connor to sigh in relief.
Carefully, he slipped the ring on my finger before I stood up from my chair and gave him a sweet yet rough kiss.
"Finally you did it, Connor!" I heard cheering erupt in front of me and I pulled away from the kiss to find Tobias, Anthony, Max, Oliver, and Mikkel cheering and slightly crying at the sweet moment they had just witnessed.
"Is that why they came to Paris with us?" I smiled at Connor, pointing over at the hockey players who were currently fangirling as if they had met their favorite celebrity.
"Yeah, I wanted it to be perfect for you, Y/N...Or shall I say, Mrs. Connor Murphy?" He smiled, kissing my cheek.
"I am never gonna get tired of hearing that, Mr. Murphy... "I sighed, resting my head on his chest, listening to his calm heartbeat.
"I love you, Y/N."
"And I love you, Connor."

Nero Zero
Monsters plagued the lands for too long. No matter if one had fangs, beak, teeth, skin, fur, or feather, or was tall, stout, or diminutive, the people suffered. Until the Gadgeteers came with a device that could allow people to fight back. Powered by one's own magical power, feeding off of monster Essence, the Arbitrium bracer turned the tables. It also changed society. Strength of one's level cap was all that mattered. The strongest were Kings and Emperors. The weak or those too poor to afford the marvelous device, destitute. And so it has been for millennia. All that mattered was one's level cap. High, low, a fate decided the moment the strange contraption came alive. Too high and you were a threat to those interested in keeping the status quo, a weed to be nipped before it could grow and take root. Too low and you were nobody, fated to be a bit more than a simple farmer. What if someone, somewhere, came up with a zero for their level cap? Unable to use Essence, unable to level up. On all of recorded history, it never happened. Until it did. In a small village of fur-less and tail-less ape-beastkin, a boy found out he was uniquely handicapped. Nero's level cap was Zero. But he'd never let that stop him from reaching his goals. ------------------------------------------------ All stories have already been told. We merely reuse elements from them. From Joseph Campbell's Monomith to Stephen King's advice, and that encyclopedia of tropes you've visited, fiction has been dissected and reassembled countless times. One will surely find elements inspired on other works here. Just like cooking from basic ingredients, the recipe and presentation is what really matter. This is a fantasy adventure, of someone that goes from a zero to a slightly bigger zero. It will have romance but no harem. Cruelty but with hope dimly shining ahead. Lightweight where it can be, heavy where it must. Thanks for reading. Cover Credits (The cover is CC-BY-NC-SA): Steampunk Spider Bracer, by Daniel Proulx. Tur Briste
A Druid cultivation novel. Borrows concepts from Wuxia and Xianxia but using Druid myth and lore. More on this at the bottom. Crow is son of Maddox, a Druid with an ancient bloodline and a people with a story spanning toward the beginning of time. Cursed, unfated, and a heap of bad luck have brought him only pain and suffering, but nothing will stop him. Nothing can stop him. A son of Maddox doesn’t bow his head. A son of Maddox understands that only a man with roots, with something to lose, will fight until the last drop of blood leaves his body. The Draoidh were once a proud people. They were both respected and hated for their form of righteousness. Power wasn’t something they gained through the might of their arms, but through intelligence. Their fall was all the more disheartening for the weaker cultivators. The tens of thousands of years that followed… chaos reigned. They forced Draoidh until most fled to the lower realms, nearly wiped out and exhausted. They went into hiding and became known as the Druids of the Oak. The Druid Order wasn’t the powerhouse it had been, and only nine of the major clans survived the calamity. Their bloodline weakened, as well as their prestige. Even the remaining clans fought amongst each other. Already on the decline and near extinguished, the Maddox clan can only struggle for survival, but their foundation wasn’t a joke. Weakened, but not weak. The other clans will understand this difference soon enough. Tur Briste, the Shattered Tower, awaits Crow’s ascension. Reaching the upper realms is only the first step in reestablishing the Draoidh. The Druids of the Oak remembered every betrayal and grievance, and they’ll return to power and reclaim what once belonged to them. The upper realms may have forgotten, but the Druid Order has not. Please Note:1) This is harem story. There are only a few chapters with sex, and it’s not a focus of the story. I’ll only add graphic sex if I feel the story needs it, so not gratuitously. Either way, Crow has several women. This is in line with Druid/Celtic history, and harems/reverse harems were an accepted part of their culture. Further, they had open marriages, meaning the man or woman could end their marriage at any time. While it was still a patriarchy, women had almost equal power. They were a very progressive culture. 2) There is a period of a 30-50 chapters where Crow loses the ability to cultivate like a Druid so he adopts an eastern body cultivation method for a while. This is temporary, but some people feel it’s misleading, so I am pointing it out ahead of time. I promise, the Druid stuff comes back, and 90% of the lore/myths/creatures/gods are all related to Druid/Celt/Irish/Scottish history. 3) I use many original names, most of which are in Gaelic or Irish. In the story, I refer to this language as Ancient. I enjoy all kinds of folklore and myths, so I encourage you to google those original names as they arrive. I give some background on them at the end of the chapter in my author’s note. 4) I use Ogham runes a lot, these are like the Druid alphabet, and they based each rune on a sacred tree so they also have symbolism associated with them. Again, feel free to google that too. It’s pretty neat stuff. Quick Translations:Draoidh = DruidTur Briste = Shattered Tower or Broken Tower Release Schedule:As of Oct 1, 2021- 3 chapters released every Sunday (May have up to two bonus chapters)- Side character chapters… this might be bonus chapters I release through the week. So they won’t count toward the 3 chapters on Sunday.- Please understand I work full time, have two kids, and can’t spare as much time as I’d like toward my writing. Maybe in the future I can switch to doing this full time, but for now 3 chapters is a comfortable pace for me. Lastly… I very much appreciate all my readers and thank you for allowing me to entertain you!
