《Hockey Imagines》Haydn Fleury ~ CH/Team Canada

My friends dragged me to a New Year's party that Team Canada was also attending. I wasn't much of a party girl, but my friends insisted that I tagged along with them. After arriving at the party, my friends left me all alone, wandering off into the crowd and I decided to grab a can of pop and walked outside to the patio to escape the crowd as I wasn't a fan of huge crowds. I heard the glass door slide open and close and I felt someone sit next to me.
"Hey, what's a beautiful girl like you doing outside all by yourself?" He had a sip of his pop, looking over at me with his blue-green eyes staring at me.
"Oh, I'm not a big fan of huge crowds and I'm not really a type of person who hangs out at parties too much. I'd rather spend the night watching a hockey game." I chuckled to myself before outstretching my hand. "I'm Y/N, Y/N L/N. What's your name?"
"Haydn, Haydn Fleury." He smiled, shaking my hand.
I immediately started to blush, pulling my hand away after we shook for a good 5 minutes. Was I talking to the Haydn Fleury? I really hope I didn't embarrass myself in front of him!
"So what teams do you like to watch?" Haydn looked up at the star-filled sky, before looking back at me.
"Oh, I'm a Canes fan..." I smiled, before he smirked.
"And who might your favorite player be?"
"Hmm, Eddie Läck or Jeff Skinner, maybe Elias Lindholm..."
"Oh really? Anyone else you like?"
"You're my favorite prospect, though!"
"That's such an honor to hear..."
"You know, besides McDavid and Marner..."
"I see how it is!" He laughed, which made my heart swell. I swear, his laugh is one of the most angelic voices I've ever heard.

I continued talking with Haydn for a good hour and half before he turned his back around to see if his teammates were there. Most of them were still there, but a few were lost within the crowd. He was telling me all these funny stories that happened with the team while they were hanging out together in the summer. His eyes twinkled with a spark as he was speaking, almost as if he was enjoying my presence. As Haydn continued to talk, I found myself to listen to every little or big detail, debating whether I was growing feelings of love towards Haydn...
"Hey Y/N?"
"Yes, Haydn?"
"I know you're not much of a party girl... How about we ditch this party and go out for some ice cream?"
"It's the middle of Winter and you want to go out for ice-cream?"
"Hey, it's go big or go home!"
"Alright, let me get my stuff and I'll meet you at the front porch."
"I'll see you then, babe." He kissed my cheek, causing butterflies to churn in my stomach.
Was it becoming obvious to me that I was starting to develop a crush on him?
"I apologize if I came on a little too strong when I asked you to come here..."
"Haydn, you weren't forceful at all! I'm actually happy that you wanted to hang out with me at a less crowded place..." I smiled, licking my favorite flavor of ice cream. "But you didn't have to pay for my ice-cream, I could've paid for it, y'know!"
"I wanted to, Y/N! I really wanted to treat you!"
"Well, thank you for the treat... Anyways, tell me more about yourself..."
"Uhh, well... I'm playing in the WHL this year and uh, I'm a good cook...."

I could tell he was stumbling for words, as if he was nervous that I was in front of him; not being confident as he was about 2 hours ago at that party.
We finished up with the ice-cream date and were currently headed back to my place since my friends were the ones driving.
"You know Y/N, you're a pretty awesome girl to hang out with..." Haydn blushed, looking down at the cemented side-walk.
"Well, you're even awesome to hang out with. I'm glad I met you tonight..." I chuckled lowly as I stopped walking, grabbing his wrist. "Wait Haydn, is there anything you'd like to say to me?"
"I-uh-well...Throughout the night, my heart's just been beating really fast whenever I start to talk to you. I could keep on rambling on about how you're beautiful and how much I like you but I'm just so scared-" Haydn started to ramble on, but I cut him off with what was supposed to be an innocent kiss but turned out to be a makeout session in the empty streets. We eventually pulled away after 5 minutes to catch our breath.
"The feeling's mutual, Haydn." I smiled, giving his cheek a peck.
"Well, in that case; Y/N L/N, will you be my girlfriend and go out on another date with me?"
"Let me think about that...Yes I will be your girlfriend and yes I will go out on another date with you!" I jumped into his arms, giving him a sweet kiss and pulled away.
I had a gut feeling that maybe Haydn Fleury was the one and only, my soulmate that I was destined to be with....
