"That's it, I'm officially horrible at this!" I frustratedly threw my hands up, making Artemi chuckle.
"Don't worry dorogaya. You'll get the hang of this! I know the alphabet is different from what you know..."
"Can you say an easy sentence for me, Artemi?" I pouted, making a puppy dog face similar to the one of 5SOS' Calum Hood.
Artemi thought for a while, before smiling. "Mne nravitsya khokkey. Moy lyubimaya komanda...."
"Mne nravitsya khokkey..." I started to break off the sentence.
"You're doing good so far, dorogaya! Just finish the sentence..." Artemi clapped quietly, proud at me for learning his native language.
"Moy lyubimaya komanda Y/F/T (Or the Blackhawks)." I smiled, sighing after saying the sentence that Artemi had given me.
"Way to go, vozlyublennaya!" Artemi high-fived me, "I love you so much."
"I love you too, now... I think this calls for making some cookies!" I yelled, running to the kitchen from my spot in the couch.

I got out the ingredients for my grandma's chocolate chip cookies, along with the equipment necessary.
Artemi had started to begin to help me with the process.
"Artemi, you're supposed to put the chocolate in the dough, not eating them!" I laughed at him.
He had puffy cheeks that were filled with the chocolate chips.
"Oy, izvini..." Artemi shyly smiled, before finishing eating the chocolate and started to help again.

"Ok, the cookies are ready in 15 minutes.... What're we supposed to do now?" I stood up from bending down in front of the oven door before I felt a cold liquid run through my head.
I turned around and there was Artemi with an empty eggshell in his hand.

"Artemi!" I fumed and he still had his innocent smile on his face.
"I couldn't help it! It was evilly tempting me to..." Artemi raised his hands in innocence.
"We'll see if you like it..." I grabbed a handful of AP flour, dumping it in Artemi's head before cracking an egg and dropped it on his hair too.
"Oh you're on, Y/N!" Artemi turned from cute to evilly smiling, grabbing the butter and started walking closer to me.
He smeared the butter on my arms, letting me shriek as the cold butter was smeared on.
The food fight went on for 15 minutes before the oven beeped. Artemi and I were covered in a mixture of eggs, flour, and butter.
"I'm going to take a shower, I don't know about you." I smiled, getting out of Artemi's grasp.
"How about I join you?" He smirked before I punched his shoulder.
"Not gonna happen, Panarin!"
"Well it was worth a shot."

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★

One in a million people are born with a Talent, a superpower of some kind. It used to be a good thing. Not any more. Not since Pyro went on his killing spree. Ten years on, the Talented are under constant scrutiny, their identities and powers recorded in the Register, their lives monitored by the Authority, their Talents called into service at any time. Susan is one of the Unregistered. She'd much rather use her Talent to fight for her causes, than for the Authority's. She serves a greater morality than the one the Authority represents. This makes her a problem for Red Line, lead agent of the Authority, tasked with keeping the Talent population in line, as well as being at the beck and call of the Normie Police. It's not Red Line's only problem... Someone is hunting the Talented and killing them, and time is running out before they strike again.
