《Hockey Imagines》Michael Latta ~ WC

"Goodnight Zach, goodnight Taylor." I kissed my 5 year old twin boys, going over to where the door was, turning off the lights before I heard Zach say,
"When's daddy coming home, mommy?"
I turned around, smiling sadly at him.
"Daddy's not coming home for another few more days, Zach....He's on a road trip with the team, remember?"
Zach nodded, before going back to sleep. I went to my shared bedroom adjacent from the boys' room. I changed into a Capitals shirt and a pair of joggers before going on to Michael's side of the bed.
At around 1 in the morning, I heard the front door open and footsteps run up the stairs. I just ignored it and went back to sleep. The bed dipped, must've been the boys trying to sleep with me, before a familiar pair of arms were wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer to him.
"I missed you so much, baby girl." He whispered in your ear, kissing your cheek.
I fully woke up, turning on the lamp that was on the bedside table. I turned around, finding my husband, Michael Latta, right in front of my eyes!
"Michael, what are you doing here! I thought you weren't coming back for another 2 days?" I started to tear up, with Michael wiping away the tears.
"The game in Montréal got canceled. Apparently, there's a severe thunderstorm roaring over Quebec and the airport canceled their incoming and outgoing flights for the next few days..."
I nodded my head, before kissing him on the lips.
"Would you like to know if baby Latta's a boy or a girl?"
"I've been thinking about it ever since I left for the road trip..."
"Would it be helpful if I said we're having a little girl?"

Michael's eyes started watering, before the door opened and in the doorway, stood out two little boys.
"Daddy, you're home!" Zach and Taylor jumped on the bed, tackling Michael in the process.
"Hey boys, I missed you on the road. But, luckily I came just in time for your birthdays." Michael chuckled, running his hand over their hair.
You grabbed your phone, taking a family selfie, when I thought it was the perfect time to say something.
"So boys, what would you like for your birthday in 2 days?" Michael asked the boys, winking at you.
"Well daddy, we would like a little brother or sister to play with..." Zach held on to Michael.
"Would you like a new little sister?" I tickled them and they shrieked with laughter.
"Really!?" They looked with big eyes, "We're going to be awesome big brothers!"
I smiled, kissing Zach and Taylor's cheeks.Michael and I let them sleep with us tonight, since it was 3 in the morning. What a happy family we were.

8 145Trials of a Magic Core
He was brave, and noble, and true. He was also a hunk of crystal floating in a magical circle, brought into existence by the self-styled "Greatest Magus of All Time" to be his personal intelligent magical encyclopedia, filled with every minutiae of the arcane this Magus could stuff into it, all ready and accessible at a moment's notice. But is simply knowing all there is to life? Can he strive for more? Should he? (Writer's Note:) I'm a pretty new writer, so expect delays, errors, inconsistent logic, plot holes the size of a small 4-wheeled vehicle, and a distinct lack of snark. At least from the MC. Also, yes, the cover is an image I made in paint. I have...NO artistic skills. It is a placeholder. Also, I came up with this idea in the shower after a nine-hour RRL binge. SO BEAR WITH ME.

The world went to hell in a handbasket. Overnight, something called the Allworld downloaded itself into the universe and everything but the kitchen sink appeared to end the planet. Governments fell and chaos reigned. People were left to fend for themselves. Of course, that's not, like, a bad thing. Pollution is at an all time low which means no more global warming. And all that corrupt bureaucracy is gone now too. Which means all those evil people refusing to do something about our dying planet are gone. Plus, people got superpowers. Which is, you know, pretty sweet. Of course, they can't be normal superpowers, everything but the kitchen sink was thrown in after all. Caleb is immutable, unable to physically change in a world completely changed; Alex was granted a system that talks to her in cat puns, but also gives her power over all cats; Nathan met a god of impulse, who gave him powers because he felt like it; and June is given a power to make things lazy, something opposite to her personality. The four of them meet by chance while hunting monsters. They met by chance but must learn to work together when an empire from space lands on Earth with the intent to subjugate the surviving humans.
