Karna came to Hastinapur with Dushala and Avantika. He directly went to the palace. They were greeted by Maharani Gandhari and she did welcome for them. Dushala went and hugged her while Karna and Avantika touched her feet. She blessed everyone. She informed them that the sabha was going on so she had to come. Then she welcomed everyone to sabha. They went there Avantika and Dushala went went with Ghandhari to balcony. Dushala greeted Kunti while Avantika completely ignored her. Ghandhari told them to arranged seat. While Karna went to Sabha and greeted elders. They blessed him. Maharaj and Vidhur congratulated him for his mairrage. Dhritarashtra asked him to take seat which he did.

The sabha of Hastinapur has changed. The decision were taken by unanimous advice of both Duryodhana and Yudhishthir. Karna could see rights of Yudhishthir were taken away as his decisions were not directly followed but Duryodhana output and suggestions has also became important for judgement to take place. He could see that changes has taken place in Sabha. He was impressed by Duryodhana's suggestions. He has already sensed the displeasure of Pandavas on his arrival but he didn't pay attention to any of them. The proceeding took place till lunch. Then all dispersed, Karna too gone to Pitamah Bheeshma's room. Avantika went with Dushala.

In Yudhishthir's room.

Pandavas gathered there with Kunti and her maid Priyamada. This month was not easy for Pandavas especially Yudhishthir and Bheem. After returning Bheeshma true to his word has revoked all rights of yuvraj from Yudhishthir that too in front of whole sabha. News spread very quickly now whole Kingdom knew Yudhishthir was yuvraj for name sake only. The Pandavas knew though people still respected him but previous respect as yuvraj was gone they just see him as any other royal. The incident where Duryodhana was first given right to advise was also spread so Yudhishthir naturally lost respect among most people of Hastinapur. He became somewhat clown in the kingdom, Pandavas knew if something couldn't be done fast Yudhishthir's position of yuvraj would also be revoked and they will become laughing stock. They decided to gain people's respect by doing charity or other things but that too was ruined because of their arrogance of Devputra. The charity is something to do with pure heart but they always haughtily asked Petitioner to ask alms as they the Devputra and true Kshatriye will help them, they should be greatfull that Devputra have decided to take time from their busy schedule to help them so they should spread the words of them not some other people or sutputra Karna. This irked the petitioners. People only on their last leg will come to them if the help was imperative otherwise tale of Karna's heartfelt charity was spread to whole Aryavart. This became another reason for them to hate Karna. Kunti's maid Priyamada didn't let the opportunities go and filled Pandavas head with arrogance and hate towards Karna. She told them not compare themselves with that sutputra as they were Devputra. She told them that low birth would never become better than them. She used various opportunity to fill their mind and portray Karna as evil, opportunistic, fake, coward etc. Despite knowing it wasn't true they believed her as it was soothing their ego. Kunti also didn't stop her because to her Karna was source of all her and her children's problem. To her he was the reason Yudhishthir's position is now threatened and Bheem got punishment of cleaning stable for 15days by Mahamahim of Hastinapur in front of whole court. Pandavas decided that Yudhishthir should show his capabilities in the court and earn back his lost rights and respect but that too didn't go well, as practiced habits are hard to die. He was too well practiced in parroting the vedas but Duryodhana constant questions were so hard that he has to stay quiet or he will make fool of himself arguing him. It leds other to question his abilities. Pandavas were getting frustrated in the palace.

Presence of Karna today has frustrated them even more. Seeing him smiling in the court has led them to believe he was mocking them. He was the reason of all their sorrows and because of him they couldn't even see their gurudev to ask for solution of their problems or to support them. As Dronacharya was still in seclusion. Pitamah Bheeshma and their uncle Vidhur too stated loosing faith in them. So they gathered now to discuss what to do now.

Bheem : Why has that sutputra came today? Isn't it enough that he was reason that Pitamah is angry at us or Guru dev is with us?

Arjun : I believe he has come to confirm that whether Pitamah followed up his words at Anga.

Bheem : He must be gloating seeing our condition, bloody sutputra.

Nakul : Yes, because of him we lost too much. Why couldn't he stay in his goddamm Kingdom.

Sahdev : He is here now. The question is what are we going to do about his stay?

Yudhishthir : We can't do anything, he is ally of Hastinapur and come here freely. I believe he has come to drop Dushala back to Hastinapur.

Bheem (arrogantly) : May be you are right jyeshtha, inspite of king he is a suta, so he has to perform his duty to gave ride to royals. I am sure he came driving the chariot. Afterall it his duty as suta.

Priyamada : You are right prince Bheem after all he is a charioteer's son so he has to drive Chariot for princess Dushala. But you have see his opportunistic behaviour inspite of having his own kingdom he seems want to be close to royals of Hastinapur. He must have performed black magic to others that is why they can't see his evilness.

Bheem : You are right Priyamada kaki.

Kunti : But what could we do? He came here with his wife and Dushala.

Bheem : That arrogant princess of Ujjain. She insulted me in Anga I will never forgive her. This time she is in Hastinapur I will get my revenge.

Kunti : Don't be stupid Bheem and don't do something stupid. Otherwise Yudhishthir will truly loose his position of yuvraj. Remember we are alone here. Mahamahim Bheeshma already favours Duryodhana now and Vidhur too getting inclined towards him. Your foolishness may cause your brother her right of heir to throne.

Priyamada : Maharani Kunti is saying right prince Bheem. Because of that sutputra you have already lost you support doing anything now wold be dangerous. But you can't do something without going too far for situation to take terrible turn but I can do it. After all what could behe do, she is wife of sutputra.

Others were silent which showed their agreement. Bheem decided to not let go of any opportunity to insult Karna and Avantika. They thought their talks were private but one person was listening to all their talk. She is none other than spy planted by Karna in Hastinapur. She immediately left after their talk and went to inform Avantika and Karna about it. There were 5 spies of Karna in Hastinapur's palace they were 2were ordered to be with Dushala while 3 others we tasked to keep an eye on Shakuni, kunti and Pandavas. This spy was one tasked to keep eye on Pandavas.

Karna was in Bheeshma's chamber so she spy went to Avantika and told her I'd talk between Pandavas, Kunti and priyamada. Avantika was disgusted hearing all this she decided to take strict action of any of mentioned people so much as tried to insult her and his husband. Karna returned and told her they will stay today here a will leave tomorrow for their vacation. Avantika didn't hide anything and told him of discussion of Pandavas and group. Karna was angry he till now has let go his insults but he couldn't and wouldn't let go if they tried to insult Avantika. It seemed his silence was pursued as his weakness. If they wish to see his anger then that will what they witness. Avantika decide to do something about the maid Priyamada first, she knew all about Karna even then she dared to say bad thing about her husband. She couldn't let her go unpunished. Priyamada was confident in Pandavas and Kunti to protect her then she will break her this confidence in front of them.

Karna and Avantika was invited for lunch. They decided to go knowing something was going to happen. They were prepared. They entered the dinning room. They decided to sit on the place arranged for them and foods were brought. Priyamada was among the group serving the food and. She served everyone except Karna and Avantika. People except Pandavas and kunti frowned.She told another dasi to serve them

Avantika : Why are you not serving us Dasi.

She stressed on the word dasi. Priyamada was angered no one called dasi as she was not only maid but friend of kunti since she was princess of Kuntibhoj. Priyamada mostly didn't do anything but order around other showing her authority as maharani personal confidant and friend.

Priyamada (arrogantly) : I don't serve low born and their wife.

People were shocked hearing that. Pandavas and Kunti was enjoying before anyone could say anything Avantika rose from her seat and swiftly came in front of her. She slapped Priyamada so hard that she flew few metres and some of her teeth were broken and lying on floor. Bheem saw this and wanted to punish Avantika but as he was going to stand he felt a hand on his shoulder that was pinning him to his chair, he couldn't get up he raised his head to see Karna was behind him with murder in his eyes.

Karna : Be seated Prince Bheem or other wise you will meet your father Vayu dev earlier than destiny has planned that is if you go heaven after your death.

Pandavas and Kunti paled hearing that. They knew Karna was angry and will follow through. The mere act of rendering Bheem helpless casually with one hand told them so. They didn't carry their weapons now so beem was strongest among them and he was helpless. Avantika went near Priyamada and hold her by her hair.

Avantika : How dare you to call my husband low born dasi. Who gave you the courage to insult the king and queen of Anga.

She again slapped her. Priyamada didn't expect this to happen usually Karna kept quiet so she thought it will happen this time too. Karna and by extension Avantika would keep quiet more ever even if they could not most they can yell at her but that wasn't going to affect her as she was friend of Kunti. But all this she didn't imagine and From the expression of Avantika she knew this wasn't the end and that scared her. She has hoped Pandavas and Kunti to help her but she saw Bheem was pinned by angry Karna so she knew she was helpless now. Avantika turned to Dhritarashtra

Avantika : Maharaj Dhritarashtra is this Hastinapur's way to serve guests, if so than me and my husband will leave from here. We stayed to respect you and Mata Ghandhari and this is what we get in return.

Dhritarashtra : No Putri, this wasn't our intention at all.

Avantika : Maharaj my husband was also mocked before but he has already let that go. But it seems his silence is considered as weakness instead. This has gone for far too long for my liking. even a mere maid dares to insult him. This horrible act needs punishment.

Kunti : You have punished her enough there is no need for more punishment. She is my friend I will not allow it.

Avantika: Either you punish her we leave from here, there is no need for Anga to ally with Hastinapur if a maid here thinks that she can insult king of anga and it's queen the former princess of Ujjain. We don't need this alliance as Anga may alone have less army than Hastinapur but if combined with Ujjain we have more than enough to face you. The numbers itself is enough. We will not forget this and will come to take revenge for this insult with our army.

Everyone was once again shocked by declaration, they now remembered now Ujjain was with Anga so they have bigger army not that it mattered as Karna and Avantika are enough to cause destruction in Hastinapur. Bheeshma, Ghandhari and Dushala were keeping quiet as they knew Avantika was right in defending her husband's honour and Pandavas seemed to forgot what happened in Anga. They knew it's just power play as Karna and Avantika wouldn't want blood bath to happen over this. But they knew Avantika was forced in taking extreme measures to ensure that incidents like these didn't happen again so they silently watched all this happening. Others paled hearing that especially Dhritarashtra.

Arjun : You want to start war over this.

Avantika : Wars have startedted for less, Prince Arjun and remember you place now king of Hastinapur and queen of Anga is talking. This is not a place for mere prince to talk.

Her reminder hurted Arjun's ego.

Arjun (angrily): Then war it is if you want but you will not only be facing Hastinapur but army Dwarka and northern Panchal too.

Avantika (laughed) : Foolish prince, niether Dwarka nor Panchal will come for your help as we have non agressive pacts with them and I don't think they will waste their resources for a maid. But our Hundred alied kingdom will come with Magadha army to take revenge for my husband's insult here.

They again were stumped as they knew Avantika was right. Arjun paled, Pandavas now understand their arrogance will lead to total blood bath. But if something couldn't be done the matter will escalate and their pans may cone to light. They were brainstorming to get something to get out of this mess. Duryodhana who was enjoying the humiliation of Arjun and by extension Pandavas, decided to speak up.

Duryodhana : Maharani Avantika there is no need to go that far for this. We will punish the maid. Isn't it right Pitashree.

Shakuni : Yes maharaj, my nephew is saying right. Isn't it Yuvraj Yudhishthir, now according to vedas and law what is the punishment to insult the royal guests Yuvraj.

Dhritarashtra : Yes Duryodhana is right Putri Avantika. We will punish her. Yudhishthir why are you silent tell us what is punishment for such deeds.

Yudhishthir (difficultly) : 50 whips at the centre of Hastinapur market is punishment for this Maharaj.

Dhritarashtra : Then sentence will be carried out right away. Putri Avantika is the punishment enough.

Avantika : Yes Mharaj, Thank you for your just punishment but she is too old for that. I am not heatless to kill anyone for this. Just remove her from palace permanently, it will be sufficient.

Dhritarashtra : Fine as you wish Putri. Priyamada is now no longer maid here.

Priyamada couldn't believe what is happening. She couldn't believe her biggest support and confidence for whom she did this the Pandavas weren't helping her even her friend is keeping quiet. For the first time she understood how cruel her friend can be. She understood if Kunti can sacrifice and insult her eldest son for right of her legitimate son then she was nothing but just a friend to her. She was heart broken and scared when Yudhishthir told the punishment as she knew she probably couldn't survive it. But she knew she had to keep quiet otherwise her family will be in danger. She cursed herself for choosing such friend and was relieved to leave her side forever.

Ghandhari : Priyamada why aren't you apologising to Karna and Avantika. Apologize now and thank them from saving your life.

Priyamada : I am sorry king and queen. I am thankful for your consideration.

Priyamada said and left the palace. The atmosphere that was tensed. Everyone except Pandavas were relieved that situation has passed. They all knew it was just power play Avantika was slaughtering chicken to warn the monkeys that Insult to her or Karna will not be tolerated. Pandavas and Kunti knew too well what has transpired here. They were once again badly humiliated and every knew that, because Priyamada was Kunti's confidant as she always proclaimed. Karna and Avantika took their place and new plates were being arranged.

Duryodhana : You are very kind Queen Avantika, you consider her life, she could have died. Our great yuvraj just as always spoke without thinking about it as always I can't seem to ever comprehend his Dharm.

Avantika : Thanks for your praise but it was right thing to do. You can't comprehend his Dharm because it isn't there is no dharm bigger than humanity whicy his considered dharm lacks.

Duryodhana : I will remember your words.

Shakuni : Satyavachan Angrani.

Dushala managed to made the atmosphere somewhat bearable for everyone. The lunch then took place and every one ate. For Pandavas and Kunti the whole time was nothing but torture. The jab of Avantika about Yudhishthir's dharm raised questions and they knew it. Bheeshma didn't interfere means he too agreed with Avantika and that's troubling them. They knew they had lost their only support Priyamada as she was only one who healed their bruised ego but now a very large rift was created between them. They blamed Karna and Avantika for this insted of their attempt to insult them. They couldn't eat even Bheem, the smirking face of Duryodhana and Shakuni were constantly irritating them and blank face of Karna and Avantika too didn't help much. They just wished lunch will be over quick but time seemed to slow down for them.
