So what is this story about? Well, it's got a bad boy and a self-harming nerd with a dark past and dead parents.
I mean… it sounds familiar.
But lets elaborate for a bit. Charlotte Lewis' parents have been murdered for reasons yet unknown, leading to her being placed in foster care; she's gotten a nice new family who she doesn't connect with and is being bullied at school. Fun. Then one day she runs into Caleb (literally), a hot ray of sunshine with plans to get closer to her.
Yeah. Definitely sounds vaguely familiar.
Kind of a cookie-cutter plot, to be honest. However, plots like these can work if they find that one thing that sets them apart from the rest. For this book, I think the murdered parents thing and Charlotte's relationship with Rachel have potential. I'd like to see more development in that direction; it might help the story to become more original.
The characters are decent enough, though also rather stereotypical. Self-harming bullied girl with a dark past meets sunshine boy who wants to help her and calls her a weird nickname? Yes, we get it now, Wattpad just loves that trope. What I'd also like to mention is Rachel; the story went in an interesting direction with her introduction, but then she just sort of… disappears. What's up with that? Don't introduce characters if you're just going to forget about them.
The GPS is… hm. Punctuation and spelling really do seem difficult here, but I promise, it's not a promise. I'd recommend some major editing, if I may.
Let's say the story has some untapped potential that needs to be brought out.
