《Book reviews *Requests Closed*》'ABILITY' by Eddy622

'ABILITY' is about Kenzie Black, who moves to the quiet Bridge Town with her mother. However, the ghost of a Gray Norman already lives in their house. Kenzie has the ability to see ghosts. Gray Norman isn't a real ghost, though; he was cursed by a witch because he was a cruel son of a bitch, and his soul was merely removed from his body. There's a chance for him to survive… if Kenzie helps him.
I thought the plot looked very promising. It was original, especially the thing with the witch. However, I feel like the story had a lot of untapped potential. For example, why is there a witch? It's left unexplained, so it's kind of a plot hole. And what happened to Austin? Kenzie forgot about him rather quickly. I think that might need some resolve too. The plot is interesting, but not executed as well as it deserves.
Second of all, I thought the characters could use some more development. It felt like there wasn't much personality to them aside from some set personality traits. I didn't really care much about them or what they did, so I'd like to see more 'real person' in them.
The GPS is, uh, not to write home about. Picture severe punctuation issues and grammar mistakes that put LOTR's Gollum to shame. However, it does say that the story's unedited. I'd recommend editing in the future, though.
I'd also like to recommens taking more time to set a scene. I saw very few actual descriptions to set a scene, and I felt the story felt rather rushed. A scene started and was over in the blink of an eye; I barely had time to really get into it.
Rating: 4.5. Has potential, but is in need of some major editing.

Odditorium
Creativity is power. Creation is power. Arax is empty, he has no personal attribute and his parents have left him out in the dark. By day he suffers through a mid-level university trying to convert people into Masters but it's given him no luck, nothing will stick. His only momentary joy is the games of Harshings that he plays every night with the members of the Armament Club, ten of the highest level Harshings players of all-time, Arax is the only one under three-hundred years old. Anyways, after a harsh game of Harshings (pun intended) one of the members of the club contacts him with a solution to his emptiness problem, Mimir's Well. Anyways, this story is about God's and creativity and bonkers off the wall (expletive) and rituals and God's and sex jokes. I probably got inspired by like all of the mythos stories that have been popping up on here. It's in a VERY rough form because I've just been getting back into writing. I've written like fifty thousand words already so I guess have fun.
