Damn, y'all sure love giving me BTS fanfics to read, huh? I review more original fiction than fanfiction, but if you look at the fanfics I've reviewed? At least a 50% chance it's a BTS one.

This BTS fanfic is called 'Love Lessons' and it's written by faraahfanfic. It features main character Shay Scott, an OC who has a crush on BTS member V (Taehyung), except he's not a band member; this is a high school AU. The thing is, Shay has zero experience with love and relationships whatsoever. Tae's friend Jungkook starts giving Shay 'love lessons' in order to boost her confidence. But that, of course, would cause drama if Taehyung found out.

I don't think this plot is the most original. Seeing as this is fanfiction and not original fiction, that was to be expected, I suppose. But sometimes the plot feels like an abundance of tropes and clichés thrown together in a big messy pile.

Examples of tropes found: rich girl hiding the fact she's rich, controlling/ 'evil' parent, (upcoming) love triangle, the concept of love lessons (though they're still innocent in this fic), clingy ex… of course, every story incorporates tropes, but be careful with them: they can become clichés real quick.

The characters, I think, are well written. At least Shay and the band members are, in my opinion. I do think that Shay's mother comes across as a stereotype at times.

GPS is fine, quite alright. Does have missing commas and misplaced periods, but nothing major. It isn't enough to make the book hard to read, so that's fine.

Lastly: I like the pacing of the story. With 55 (not too long) chapters, I can see the author takes their time to write the characters and their relationships. The story isn't rushed and I can appreciate that!

Rating: 6.5. Could've been higher with a stronger plot, but this is nice so far.
