This book is about Kasey Bousquet, a young man working in his father's little bakery called Mad Batter. He lives a peaceful life with his family, but when Kasey finds the corpse of someone close to him in the bakery freezer, his life turns upside down.

I really like the plot and setup for this story. A murder mystery in a bakery is not something I've seen before and the story is succesful when it comes to keeping the readers interested. Good plot, interesting start.

The characters are well-written too. I can see how close the Bousquet family is and Kasey, the protagonist and narrator, explains everything and everyone clearly. I love the little details about the family that are sprinkled throughout the book; the part about four-year-old Kasey in the supermarket actually made me laugh out loud.

Aside from some minor typos that can happen to everyone, the GPS is looking good. GPS perfection is hard to achieve, but hey, nobody's perfect. This comes close though.

I also like the LGBT+ representation in the book. It's not for everyone, but the more gay romance, the merrier (according to me). A few extra points for casual LGBT+ and we've reached the end of the review! I'd recommend checking this book out, definitely. It's not that long yet, so it won't take up much of your time.
