This is a werewolf story.
NO WAIT DON'T STOP READING YET
I should rephrase myself.
This is a good werewolf story.
Surprised yet?
The Last Princess, written by midnightcupofnoodles, is about Lyandra, the daughter of the Grand Alpha Otsoa. The Grand Alpha is like, the werewolf king, making her a princess. However, her twin brother Aiden will succeed her father, so she's able to live a relatively normal life.
Until her brother gets killed.
The death of het brother results in Lyandra becoming her father's heir. She will be crowned Grand Alpha soon, but the Werewolves are in a difficult situations: they've just had to out themselves to the human world...
What I particularly like about this plot and the book in general, is that romance isn't the main focus. Sure, there probably will be romance at some point, but that's normal. The thing is, most werewolf books are so focused on romance that they lack in terms of plot and quickly become cliché. This book doesn't do that.
The Last Princess takes its time to illustrate werewolf society and culture carefully and it makes us want to know more about that world. It also shows how it clashes with our own human society. In other werewolf books I've read, these kind of things are often neglected for the lovey-dovey protagonists.
The characters are also well-written. Lyandra is a likable protagonist who isn't whiny like so many other protagonists and the other characters also appear to be good, well fleshed-out characters.
The GPS is flawless and I also very much like the writing style.
If you want to read a good werewolf book for once, go check this one out!
