A fanfiction to review! That doesn't happen a lot! It's a nice change!

Only I haven't seen the show...

The show in question is Uta no Prince-sama, shortened as Utapri, an anime. I hadn't heard of it, but I read this fic anyway. It means I might not be able to review very accurately, but I'd like to give it a try anyway.

First, let me tell you what Utapri is about. I did read up a little on the show to get the gist of the fic, so it might be a good thing to explain that to you guys too.

I won't go into details, but Utapri is about Haruka Nanami, a girl who gets into this prestigious performing arts school called Saotome Academy. She meets a few guys who all fall in love with her (shoujo anime, what did you expect?) and she persuades them to form a band called STARISH. Haruka is not in the band, but composes their songs. Another thing: 'dating' and 'love' are forbidden at Saotome Academy.

So that's Utapri. Now for the fic. It's a fic that pairs Haruka with one of the STARISH members, Tokoya Ichinose. Is it canon? I don't know. Anyway, they're married, but Tokiya gets killed by a crazy guy who thinks he doesn't deserve Haruka. Everyone's devastated, but their friend Cecil, who has magical powers, manages to send all of them back to the past, so Haruka can get a second chance with Tokiya and he and his friends can focus more on their own romantic lives now that Haruka's out of the picture.

Oof. That was a lot.

I must say I really like the plot. It might sound cliché the way I described it, but I found the story to be very creative. It had a lot of sweet, romantic moments between Tokiya and Haruka, but it did not get annoying. Well done!

This fanfic took place in the canon universe and I must say that did help, because it didn't take me that long to figure out how everything worked in the Utapri universe. Sadly, I can't say if the characters were in character or not. However, they were all likable and I believe the characterization was pretty spot-on. Can't say that for sure though.

There's nothing wrong with the spelling and punctuation in this story, but the grammar and sentence structure/word order needs severe editing. There's also a lot of tense switching, which confuses readers. I'd recommend editing when there's time.

The story is finished and has long chapters. If you like shorter chapters, I'm not sure if this one's for you, but if you want to read a long, completed Haruka x Tokiya story with a good plot, this one's for you! I would recommend it, seeing as it's hard to find decent fanfiction these days.
