To be honest, I started reading this book with low expectations.
The whole "best friends try to find a pretend boyfriend for other best friend with broken heart" sounded like one of those cliché stories. Y'know, where the main characters pretend to be dating and then realuze they are actually in love and live happilly ever after and get a bazillion babies?
I was wrong. Again. I'm wrong a lot, maybe I should be concerned.
Either way, we haven't actually the pretend boyfriend August and Paisley, the girl with the broken heart, haven't met yet. The story up to now is mainly about Phoebe and Gretchen, the best friends who organized the whole situation, trying to make it all perfect and working.
The story deserves to be in the category "humor". It's really funny, which makes it just a whole lot better. I love the humor in it!
The characters are likeable, and of course, funny. Keep up the good work!
Spelling, grammar, punctuation? Also good. A few mistakes here and there, one or two instances where the tenses switched, but good for the most part.
I also noticed that the story might become more serious in the future. August gets a make over by shady specialists, and how or why Phoebe knows these people is kept in the dark. I'm not sure if this was just for jokes, but it would be cool if there was more to it!
You should give this book a try, it doesn't take that long to read and you won't regret it!
Rating: 9.5!
