This book though. This book.
Have you ever seen a zombie movie? This is the same, but with vampires.
We've got Amelia, the badass "heartless-with-a-soft-side" chick. She's a Dasher, someone who runs and survives all by herself. We get a view of her life in the vampire apocalypse.
Let me start with the spelling and grammar 'n stuff, because it was downright horrible. To list a few things:
- 'I' should be capitalised everywhere. It'snot "I thought i was going to die", but " I thought I was going to die"
- don't, he's, you've... not dont, hes, and youve
- please. Just. Go and correct the countless spellingmistakes. For example, one guy's name was Liam, and I saw his name spelled as 'Laim' or something like it more than once
-commas are a thing.
As for the plot, I like apocalyptic stories. This one wasn't the worst, but... I would've liked to see more apocalypse. In the beginning, Amelia talks a lot about the fact that vampires are murderous beasts, but we rarely see her actually encounter them. She meets a lot of humans, but the savage vampires she's hiding from? What happened to them? Are they all having tea somewhere, with blood instead of sugar?
If you're trying to tell people how horrible your 'apocalypse creatures' are, give them more screen time.
Lastly, plot holes. Amelia was being held captive by the vampires, and they kept her alive for information. Or at least, that's what I was given to understand. That doesn't make sense. Anyone else would've killed her and and found a more willing survivor. If Amelia is so special to them, you gotta give a plausible explanation.
The characters? I liked them at some point, but as the story progressed I started disliking them. This is probably because of the plot holes and their decisions that don't make sense (why is Amelia so important?). All the more reasons to fix the plotholes.

Winter Fire [ Book 1 ] ✔
On the second jump, Claire's bad leg gave way and she felt herself tumbling forward. A cry of surprise escaped her and Claire was certain she was about to topple off the side of the train. Alek, however, moved quickly, catching her mid-fall and keeping her upright, and alive. Claire lifted her eyes to meet his which were wide with alarm. The expression was fleeting, lasting for only a moment before it was replaced by a frown. "You could have fallen," he said pointedly."I know," Claire breathed, finding her thoughts drifting to the strong arm wrapped around her waist. A flush rose to her cheeks and she was grateful for the biting wind that masked her reaction. "Thank you.""You need to be more careful," he continued, his eyes locked on hers, bright and haunting in the silver glow of the moon overhead."I will," Claire assured him, her heart skipping in her chest.
