《Book reviews *Requests Closed*》#4: 'complicated love' by BadAssPinguin

hello good people who read this!
Today, I'm happy to announce the first fanfic review in this book! Complicated love!
This fanfic is a Bts fanfic, Bts standing for Bangtan Boys, a South Korean boyband.
I had never heard of 'em before. I'm like Patrick fricking star. I live under a rock.
(I did look them up and listened to their songs before reading; I think their music is really good, so go check them out!)
Seeing as I'm not that familiar with Bts and its members, I might not be able to write an good review. Please bear with me.
So the story is about Lalisa, a girl who moves in with her internet friend, Park Jimin, a member of Bts. I never hear any of the band members sing or mention their careers, so I'm guessing this is an AU.
Like I said, I don't know much about Bts, so I can't say if you got their personalities right. I do know that some minor characters (Angel, Bora), felt a little weird. Angel was a bit of a cliché and Bora felt unbelievable. Would the average person really do that in real life?
BadAssPinguin, the author of this story, is Dutch, like me, but the book is written in English. The grammar and spelling are really good, few mistakes here and there, but seriously, a lot of Dutch people are bad at English spelling and grammar.
Heck, a lot of Dutch people are bad at Dutch spelling and grammar.
TIME FOR TIPS!
Lalisa was an OC, I guess, and she was just your normal OC. Not too cliché, not too memorable.... she could use some extras? A little more personality?
The "OC moves in with band members" thing has been done before. Using an overused plot isn't that bad, but again, maybe something extra? Something to make the book stand out in a sea of other books?

Another thing: the band members all introduce themselves like this.
"Hi, I'm Hoseok!"
"I'm Namjoon."
"Hello, I'm Jungkook, pleasure to meet you!"
All in the same chapter, in a big introduction round.
Introduction rounds are generally a big no for me, but I always see it in band fanfics. The other band members are always introduced like this, and sometimes they even... fade from the story when they're not important anymore. So maybe give introduce the members in a more original way?
Lastly, another cliché band fanfic thingy: the fandom jokes.
Every fandom has a running gag (or more than one!), a long-running joke.
I saw the 'stolen jams' thing, decided to look it up, and I was right: running gag. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
If you see a particular thing being used in every fanfic in your fandom, don't use it. I recognized this as an overused joke and I didn't even know Bts.
This happens in a lot of band fics, by the way. I almost everyone.
I rate this book: a 6.5!

"Life is an interesting thing, it brings us to interesting places, it whispers to us interesting tales, it shows us interesting paths, but one thing that life does not do is coddle us, and that in a sense makes it ever more so interesting" - an interested philosopher I hope you enjoy the story. My father scolds me sharply. I flinch at the anger in his voice and quickly retract my hand, inches from the trunk of the tree. "Sorry father, I couldn't help it. The trees are just so beautiful," I whine turning towards him. His face softens slightly and he scoops me up into his muscled arms. I wrap my small arms around his neck and bury my face into his shoulder. He hugs me tightly and carries me away from the forest. "Why can't we go into the forest?" I ask, looking over his shoulder to see the red and gold leaves slowly disappear from view as we climb the hill. "The forest is a dangerous place," he sighs. "How can something so beautiful be so dangerous?" I mutter in confusion. "The danger is in its beauty."**Cover by SodaliteSilver**
