It's too cold for a walk to the lake. I have bundled up in three layers yet I can feel the chill.

Erin's stick makes a distinct sound as it hits the cobbled stone walkway.

"Aren't you cold? I don't think I can walk in this weather." I say as we reach the street corner.

He laughs with deep chortle. I pluck his glasses off, annoyed.

"Hey, give it back." He waves his hand at me.

I move out of his reach, "take me to some place warm, then you can have it."

He finds my right hand, I slide my gloved fingers in between his, thinking that was his intention.

He smiles indulging me. "Warm enough?"

"Are you kidding? No."

He huffs and tries to pull away his hand, I don't let him. It's nice to hold hands.

"There's a lakehouse, it'll be warm. Give me the glasses."

"There's no one around for you to scare. All wise people stay inside and be warm in this cold." I snap.

"You're a whiner."

"You're a polar bear."

He laughs again. "Five minutes. Stop grumbling."

As he promised, the end of the boardwalk has a gazebo like room with glass windows overlooking the lake and two doors on each side. It is warm and empty.

He sits on the bench facing the lake, I sit beside him. "How is it?" He asks.

"Deserted."

He elbows me hard on my side. "Ow! True. There's not even a single bird on sight." I say rubbing my stomach.

"Do you like it?" He asks.

His hair is all over his face from the gust of wind that barrels in through an open window.

I sweep it behind his ears, his adam apple bobs.

"Yes, not bad." I say fascinated by the working of his throat.

He sighs when I remove my hand. "So Sam, what do you do for living?"

"I don't do much of living, just working. I've debts to pay off. I am a decent chef and a kick ass event planner. What do you do?"

He has found my hand and is running his forefinger along mine. I wish we could get rid off the gloves.

"I'm an accountant."

"Wow. Seriously?"

He pulls off my right hand glove with deft fingers. "Yes, Why?"

"A blind man, doing accounts. Who would want that?"

He scrunches his eyebrows just like his mom. "Do you even know what accounting means?"

I shrug and realize my error and voice the shrug. "Balancing books?"

I shiver and look down. His cool fingers are trailing along my palm, raising goosebumps along my arms. I didn't see him remove his glove.

"Yes. You don't need eyes, just a mind for numbers. I work in our family firm."

"Here?" I want to have all the details I already know voiced out by him. I don't want to slip and say something which he didn't tell me. So far I know he is blind, gay and his mom works in Syracuse. An hour drive from here. Oh, his sister is engaged and has a party this weekend.

"It's headquarters is in New York. I work from home."

"What kind of firm?" I probe.

"A lots of things, recently my sister branched out to real estate and advertising. When it was started by my great grandfather it was just funds. We still do it, but that's in our old office in Syracuse."

I give a loud sigh. "You're a rich polar bear."

He chuckles. "Yep!"

He tangles our fingers together, "do you find it weird that I'm playing with your hand?"

"I like it." I lean on his shoulder, I'm not sure if it's to seduce him or for my own sake. He is few inches taller than me, perfect to settle my head.

"You're weird. You should be worried." He says still trailing his fingers on my palm.

"Why? Are you going to bite?"

"Maybe." He says with a grin. In this angle it's just a stretch of his cheek.

A perfect opening for my next question. "What's your deal? Only men?"

"Yep. You?"

"I'm open to all."

"Hmm.. How did you know?" He takes my hand and places it on his cheek.

I ignore the warmth in my chest at such a trusting gesture and answer him.

"I realized it in middle school. I liked watching the butts of everyone around. You?"

His hair tickles my nose. I let it be.

"My math teacher, I used to imagine his voice whenever I jacked off. I didn't know it was wrong. When I told Lydi-my sister, she gave me good audiobooks to listen to and said I might be gay."

I lift my head from his shoulder, "Your sister?"

His hand lands on my head and push it back to his shoulder, "Yes, I know it's hard to imagine. But she's my everything. Lydi is five years older than me. I don't know what would have happened to me if not for her. She was my first kiss."

He likes to shock me. "How did that happen?"

My hand on his cheek starts to ache due to inactivity, so I put it around his shoulder and snuggle closer. I suddenly realize that this kind of physical contact might be important for him to have a conversation. It's like keeping eye contact for people with vision.

"I went to a school where there were only three more kids like me. I didn't have friends. When I was six, my parents hosted a party and there were lots kids my age. One of them asked, if I had gotten my first french kiss. That night I asked Lydi, she showed me, not knowing that she's spoiling both our firsts. It was super gross." He chuckles.

"What about other firsts?"

"Anything specific you would like to know?" He teases.

I nuzzle his neck, he turns his head and smells my hair. "Nice scent, what shampoo?" He asks.

"Do you want the truth?" I ask lifting my head.

"Yes."

"That's my perfume. I had kept it on top rack, the cap was loose, it spilled when I took the towel."

He laughs, by now he has laughed enough times for me to look past the weirdness of it and join with him.

"I like it. What brand?"

"You wouldn't know. It's a local product in Bern. Thus the loose cheap cap."

"When are you going back?" He asks leaning on my shoulder.

I tighten my arm, "February twenty is my flight from New York. I leave this sleeping beauty on sixteenth, I have some work there." All true except the flight's destination.

"Today is nine, so seven days." He says.

"Wow, you are good with numbers."

He laughs into my chest. He's a lively man with abundant of child-like happiness.

"I hope you are not thinking of dragging the dating ritual." I say to the yellow curls.

"What do you mean?" He asks my chest.

"I don't have time to go by bases, how about we go to my room and get naked?" I can't believe I said that, for some reason I want to get the sex part done.

He giggles. "You have no chill, Sam."

"Come on. I'll show you a good time. My bedroom skills are better than my dating skills. Also this weather isn't good for outdoor activities." I whisper in his ear.

"I'm enjoying your dating skills. Thank you very much." He pats my thigh.

"Promise me that we'll get naked. I want to go home and brag that my vacation fling was a blind brainy accountant." There, I said it. I set the expectations correct.

He noses my ear. "Maybe you will." He whispers.

I swallow hard. "Okay, let's meet indoors for the next date."

He grins. "Done."
