《The Secrets of The Reverence Pack》Chapter 62: A Ceremony of Peace

"Shiro," his arms automatically wrapped around the small frame on top of him. His eyes were still closed as his mind was slowly waking up.

"Hmm?" That smooth voice teased.

"This is not a good way to wake me up," Jett held him tighter as the man continued to kiss the spot where he was marked.

"It seems to be doing a good job," he could see that smile even before opening his eyes. Shiro was always a sight to see in the morning. He was always wide awake with eyes sparkling with happiness. He was the only reason Jett had actually started to wake up early.

"Maybe I should clarify," Jett quickly turned to where Shiro was underneath him. "It doesn't do a good job of getting me out of bed." He quickly started kissing the mark on Shiro's neck that he had made. The man easily leaned into him, which was only waking up a certain part of him even more.

"If we start this then we're both going to be late," Shiro laughed, coaxing Jett to pull away. "Besides, we aren't supposed to be doing this until tonight."

"You aren't even supposed to be here," Jett argued, his lips stayed glued onto that slender neck of his. "Did you sneak in through the window again?"

"I figured it would be better than trying to get your sister to wake you," he answered. "I missed you last night."

"I missed you too," he held him tighter. It was the first night that they had slept apart from each other since Shiro had won leadership over his pack. They had been staying over at each other's pack houses every other week so that they could still sleep together while they figured out what to do for the middle ground. It had been a tough year in that sense, but a good one in every other aspect.

Everything had gone smoothly that year. The rest of the summer and fall had some issues with the Reverence Pack. Some of them left after Sakdah's death, either because of their own homophobia or their loyalty to the one who was willing to kill them all for power. It wasn't that many, though. And, with how many people were finally able to mate and grow their families, the pack seemed to get bigger rather than smaller.

After that, and a few arguments that he heard of Shiro having with some parents about their children, everything had been peaceful. Just about everyone had found their mates in that pack, most of them were from their neighbor packs.

The Valor Pack had undergone some changes, although it wasn't too much. With Alex living in the city, he had trained a few more warriors who were just reaching the age. A lot of the people from Jett's pack wound up befriending the Reverence Pack. Actually, just about everyone befriended them. They all transformed from timid and unwilling to talk to anyone to the happy-go-lucky neighbors and friends that tried to help out as best they could. They even came over to the Valor Pack to help with some remodeling and repairing.

It was Geo's idea. Jett was surprised that he had found so many issues with the house. Now he knew how the Reverence Pack House had stayed up and running for centuries. Geo and his uncle handled everything with care and love. It was easy to see just how dedicated the family was to their business. And Geo stepped up to take over his father's really well.

"Jett," Shiro chuckled a bit, trying to pull him off again. He was too busy trying to slip off that soft shirt that he was wearing to get to the smooth skin underneath to let the man pull him away.

"Hmm?"

"Your sister's going to catch onto my scent soon if I stay here any longer," he said, squirming in his hold.

"What happened to you being able to hide your scent?"

"I can't exactly do that when I have you around," Shiro said.

"And why is that, Prince?"

"Perhaps you can find out the answer at a later time," Shiro finally made it out of his hold, his shirt still intact. Jett frowned, already missing the feeling of his mate right next to him. "Right now, you're supposed to be getting ready."

"Can't we just skip all of this?" he complained. "All it's going to be is a bunch of eating and talking anyway."

"Of course not," Shiro shook his head. "This is the beginning of the rest of our lives. After all this time of planning this out, you want to cancel it just to lay in bed?"

"You know I don't mean it, Prince," Jett smiled at him, getting out of bed. "I'm just excited for the honeymoon part."

"You know both Hiroko and Bree would absolutely murder us if we did that," Shiro laughed, walking towards the window that he had snuck in through. "Get ready before Bree starts yelling down the halls for you."

"Is that an order?" Jett teased.

"If you want tonight to actually happen," Shiro smirked at him. "Then yes. I'll see you soon."

Jett watched as he jumped down into the fog. He missed him already. With all the work that they both had to do, and all the things that they had to take care of, Jett couldn't be happier that one of their grandest plans was finally coming to fruition that day.

"Jett!" he heard the familiar voice of his sister through the halls. "You better be up and getting ready! I didn't just spend a whole year planning this thing just for you to sleep through it all!"

Jett laughed and shook his head. She acted like she was the sole person who helped plan this thing. It was still Jett who popped the question. And Hiroko was quick on planning the event until she gave birth to her first son.

That kid was the most adorable baby he had ever seen, and he was already in love with watching Shiro hold him. He looked so full of joy when he looked down at the child. He could still wind up being a Gamma, due to his father, but Jett was pretty sure that the little guy took after his mom for the most part. It seemed to be pretty common in that family that the mother's traits be the strongest.

He was going to be so spoiled, Jett could tell already.

"I'm glad I finally get to see my son in a suit," his father popped into his room. Getting ready for this was a breeze for him. Jett was more worried about Shiro being able to get ready on time. Knowing that pack, they were going to go all out with the kimono that he was going to wear.

"I've worn a suit before, Dad," Jett shook his head a bit as he straightened his tie.

"Not to your own wedding," those orange eyes sparkled with happiness. Jett couldn't help but smile at those words.

"According to Shiro, it's a Ceremony of Peace," Jett told him.

"He always has to complicate things," his father laughed, "Doesn't he?"

"He just wants to make it all one event, I guess," Jett said. "Probably so that we don't have to do two parties back-to-back."

This was the first known time in which two leaders of different packs were mated that didn't end in the packs merging together or one getting destroyed. Since it was a first in history, they decided to try and use it as a means to create peace with their packs, so that they could be stronger together. They could both still keep their individuality, and different leadership styles. Their packs would just be able to help each other easier.

It wasn't just with protecting borders or fighting off enemies either. One thing that Hiroko had done without anyone knowing (other than Shiro, of course) was make relations with every pack that she went and visited the whole three years she had traveled. Packs from all around the world had started to visit them, meeting the Valor Pack as well. Many of them heard the story of what had happened the past year and wanted to see for themselves the Alpha that was smart enough to outwit his father and hide an entire rogue pack from everyone. Shiro and Hiroko encouraged them to meet the surrounding packs as well. The more packs they became friends with, the stronger they became.

There were some of them even coming to the wedding as well. Most of the guests were local, though. Just about the entire city had wanted to go, the neighbor packs as well. Nir and Roger, as shocked as they were about Jett and Shiro being mated together, were so happy to hear about the event.

"Hey Uncle Henry?" Wiatt popped his little head into the room. "Is there any color that we aren't supposed to wear to this thing? I kind of don't have much to choose from."

"Just wear a shirt and some nice jeans," Jett told him. "It's not going to be that fancy."

"What do you think Shiro's going to wear?" Wiatt started bouncing. He always did that when he was overly excited about something. "Is it going to be big and flowy?"

"He's not supposed to know," Bree rushed in, a couple of her kids in tow. "Glad to see you're actually ready."

"I was getting ready before you sent Dad in here," Jett rolled his eyes. He wished he knew what Shiro was going to be wearing. That was one tradition that they all kept for this little event. Neither of them were allowed to know what the other's outfit was going to be. Jett decided to wear a charcoal black suit with a silk black shirt tucked inside. It was a lot of dark colors, but he figured that since this was also going to be a Ceremony of Peace between their two packs, he figured he'd wear something that represented his pack. Knowing Shiro, he'd be doing the same.

He was excited to see what Hiroko had helped design.

"Waiting outside for you," Alex popped up in his head. "Come on, man, Blake's wife got ready faster than you."

"I doubt she's ready."

"Oh, she's ready, dude," Alex laughed through the mind link. "She's been talking our ears off for the past twenty minutes. Her and Wiatt, who disappeared."

"He's in here," Jett told him. "I'll be out there in a minute."

"Come on," Jett started herding the many people out. "Let's go, before I get yelled at some more."

"Wait!" Wiatt whined. "I still haven't figured out what to wear!"

"You look fine, Worm," Jett rolled his eyes. "It's not like you're the one getting married."

"I helped you guys get this far, though!" he bounced again. "Which means that I'm apart of the greatest love story in history!"

"It's not the greatest love story in history," he shook his head. "Now hurry!"

"How do you think you even helped?" Alex said. They had gotten outside just as his cousin started talking about it. "You had a crush on Shiro before Jett even knew that he was his mate, and all you did was tell us he wasn't at school that one day that Jett was going to try and talk to him again."

"I did so help!" Wiatt stuck his tongue out at him. "I got the necklace that Jett brought to him at the party!"

"You know," Jett ruffled his hair. "For a sixteen-year-old, you do not act your age."

It was always cute seeing him so excited like this. He was such an energetic omega, it was so fun to see.

Jett got in the car and let Alex's silly argument with Wiatt pass by the time. They were going deeper into the forest rather than in the city. With how dense this forest was, it was difficult trying to find a place to create a dirt road on. But that was something that Blake and Alex had a blast doing when they were setting up. They drove around from the Valor pack all the way to the Reverence pack and even into the city, creating a pathway for cars to get to the destination that they had planned to have the event.

They had the clearing for the event be right on the border lines of the Reverence and Valor packs. It was difficult trying to find a big enough space in between all the trees that the forest seemed to grow more of every day, but when they found this spot, it seemed like it was meant for it.

So many people were already there. With all the weddings that had taken place over the past year with the Reverence pack, most of them were sick and tired of going to these kinds of events. But this one was different from the others. It was way more than just a wedding.

They had gotten catering from every pack, just to have a variety of different foods for everyone to try. Geo had gotten Wiatt curious to try some of the seafood from their pack. Jett laughed as he saw him try some of those foods. They were all just passing time before the main event.

It was a sunny summer day out, without a cloud in the sky. This spot was also a great location because the forest gave a lot of reprieves from the humidity and heat that the summer brought to the city. Everyone was enjoying themselves as they all sat and talked. The few guests that had come from out of state were having fun meeting everyone. Jett recognized a few of Sophie's siblings in the mix of the crowd. They were the most sociable omegas he had ever seen. It was crazy.

Jett couldn't talk much. He was supposed to stay in a certain area, so as to not be seen until a specific moment. As soon as he heard the music playing, everyone hushed as the two Alphas started walking from opposite directions to meet in the middle.

Shiro looked magnificent in his kimono. It was a golden one, the color that they used to represent their pack. It was thin against a lighter layer of clothing that he had on underneath. Connected to it was a long cape made of golden lace. It trailed behind him obediently.

His long hair had grown over the past year. It was now to his waist, shimmering in the sunlight against the gold that it rested on. He looked absolutely stunning. He smiled as he met Jett's eyes. He had never seen him happier than in this moment. Jett was sure that he would remember that look for the rest of his life.

When they met at the middle, they stopped and turned to the one who was going to give them their vows. Even though Jett was used to being in front of so many people and talking to them, he was still as nervous as could be when he said his vows to Shiro. It was all worth it, though. He wouldn't trade this moment for the world.

"The beginning of your lives together, for better or for worse," the officiant said. "As well as the beginning to an era of peace between the packs that you both lead. A moment that will go down in history, and be remembered for centuries. As wished for by the Moon herself, you may kiss your mate."

No matter how many times he had kissed him, he would never forget that moment. He would never lose the magic that those lips had over him when he met them with his own. For that second, he couldn't hear the cheers from the hundreds that had come, or the laughter of children as they played in the clearing near the event. He couldn't focus on anything but the man that he had been dying to be with from the moment he first met him.

He rode that high all through the rest of the day. It was a whole day celebration of people coming up to them and congratulating them.

"Next time you aren't breaking any rules," Hiroko hugged Shiro.

"I don't know what you're talking about," he smiled at her.

"I'm sure you don't," she laughed and shook her head. "I'm sure that Jett just found the perfect cologne that smells just like your scent."

Jett laughed at that one. And they both thought that Jett was going to get caught. Hiroko was a good woman who spread happiness wherever she went. Her and Shiro made a great duo when it came to the Reverence Pack. They both helped the pack grow stronger and helped communicate with their neighbors when they found an enemy and needed help.

But, at the moment, Hiroko was much too busy showing off her three-month-old baby to everyone who came up to her. Jin looked proud as he stood next to her.

"You better be careful!" Manny told him. "If he get's spoiled, he's going to turn into a brat. Trust me, it happened with my oldest!"

"Oh, don't say that!" Sophie slapped Manny's arm. "You should be warning Blake about that instead, honestly. He gives those girls of his anything they ask for."

"Wait until they hit their teens," Jett's dad joined in on the conversation. "They'll become troublemakers no matter how you raise them."

"I'm sure he'll turn out just fine," Hiroko told them all. "We'll just see what happens when we get there."

"I'm with you on that," Jett winked at her. "He's got some good people taking care of him."

It all reminded him of when Bree had her first son. Everyone was absolutely in love with him. Most of the pack still is, even when he was running up and down the halls causing chaos. Now it seemed as if there was a new baby for everyone to fawn over.

The day seemed to fly by as the sun flew over the sky. They stayed a little after nightfall, but not too long. There was one last place they had yet to go that day. It took a lot to prepare for the two of them to be gone for two weeks from their packs. They both put in a lot of tireless hours in just so that nothing would fall behind. As much as there were some stressful days, he was happy with the purpose that they were made for.

They waved goodbye to everyone as Jett drove off. They would probably be partying all night. The DJ from the Reverence Pack had now taken charge of the music. He could see the lights flickering already. As much as it seemed fun, he was much more excited for what was to come.

"I forgot just how tiring these parties can be," Shiro leaned his head against his seat.

"You didn't get much sleep, did you?" Jett used the free hand that wasn't on the wheel to hold his mates. He was so happy that he was officially his. Marking made it official for werewolves, but marriage made it official for just about everything else.

"I was too excited," Shiro smiled, his eyes closed as he rested. "I've been waiting for this for an entire year."

"Me too," Jett said. He drove deeper into the woods along the border of their packs. The place where they were going to be spending the next two weeks alone together would also be the one they spent the rest of their lives together.

In between the thick black trees of BlackCreek forest stood a house as beautiful as the moon that shined down on it. They decided that since it would be impossible for either of them to be away from their pack, they could build a house for the both of them in between their lands. That way they could both be near each other as well as their packs when they were needed.

It was actually Bree's idea. She had gotten annoyed of them going back and forth to each other's packs from the first week they started doing it. Since their pack houses weren't that far away from each other, having a house in the middle made it to where all they would need to do was shift into their wolf forms and run for about five minutes and they were right where they needed to be.

"I'm so glad it's finally done," Shiro got out of the car. He looked as excited as a kid in a candy store when he looked at it. It was painted with dark colors to blend in with the trees around it. It was a two story one, with the finest of furniture and decoration that was a wonderful mixture of Reverence and Valor. Jett absolutely loved it.

"Welcome home, Prince," Jett pulled him into a hug. The kimono swept up with him as he started carrying him inside.

"I can walk, you know," Shiro laughed and squirmed in his hold. Jett loved just how much he laughed now. It was music to his ears.

"You're not allowed to," Jett said.

"Why?"

"Because I said so."

"Isn't the prince supposed to be the one giving out the orders?" Shiro teased as Jett walked him inside.

"You know," Jett closed the door and turned on all the lights. "That reminds me. You never gave me a nickname."

"I don't need to," Shiro shook his head.

"And why is that?"
