《Delicate Bond ✔》Chapter 46

I didn't expect High Priestess Agnesia to be elegant. Though, to become a High Priestess you need to become a wise person that people will want to seek advice from. Thus this is why the High Priestess exudes such a wise and calm aura which in the end aura can make the person elegant.
Still.
Why did the person who spent years serving the Moon Goddess and also a highly respected individual come to visit me?
"To be honest, I've never expected that a highly regarded individual would want to meet me," I said without hiding a surprise but I still kept my composure.
Agnesia's green eyes didn't show any reaction. She looked about forty years old with blond hair that faded into silver. She didn't answer it at first as she was putting the cup of tea on the table.
"Does it also have to be a reason? Couldn't it have to be a matter of fate, Princess Evelyn?" High Priestess Agnesia asked in amusement. My facial expression changed to more neutral.
Personally, even though I didn't mind people that choose to serve Goddess but I didn't like how they used fate and destiny to justify their reasoning.
My rebellious mind wanted to accidentally splash High Priestess' robe with tea and call it a 'fate'. Of course, I don't want to just make an enemy after I just met a person.
"I believe some decision is under the person's control rather than ethereal being, your Holiness," I replied politely. then continued "I would rather that people be straightforward with me than playing word games, I don't have much time."
High Priestess Agnesia sighed.
"Fine, I'll get to the point."
"You see the situation is very peculiar, the one who is destined to become a Queen is instead handling a selection of potential rulers." Before I could say anything Agnesia interrupted me.
"I don't like playing mind games either. Before I say anything it's worth mentioning that I'm able to see connections, even broken ones." High Priestess Agnesia revealed.
So this is the case? I've heard that those who serve under Goddess are often granted to predict prophecies or see the connection.
Looking at her reaction and her disciples' reaction I can conclude that she is very serious. I poured myself a cup of tea before answering.
"If that is the case, I'm not planning to change the 'connections'. I don't know how I can help you." I said as I took a sip of the tea.

"You must have heard of prophecy about a Queen who will dethrone and make her lover her King." I frowned at Agnesia's words. I understood that hint but I hoped that I don't need to resort to those methods.
"You see, I don't have a lover. I'm married." I pointed out the fact. High Priestess Agnesia once again sighed.
"Back then, our people cherished their soulmates and condemned folks who chose to reject their soulmates. Many things were omitted out of the prophecy since the one who was enlightened with the gift couldn't understand the prophecy clearly." Agenesia explained.
"What most people forgot about the prophecy. Is that the Queen ruling the Kingdom with her lover is destined to prevent the disaster and bring prosperity." Finally, Agnesia stated.
The new information I was given overwhelmed me. I didn't know how I should act.
I have other things to worry about than thinking about how I could dethrone Damien.
"What if I don't want to become a Queen?" I mused. After all, I preferred being Princess of Nauloria to becoming a Queen of Werewolf and trying to clean up the mess that werewolves made.
"Sooner or later you will have to lead werewolves. When that time comes you will need supporters. I'm very sure of my predictions."
I didn't have time to argue with the Priestess because soon my other assistant found me and told me that Kai has been looking for me since it was time to travel to the doctor's appointment.
"Looks like our conversation will end here. I have other appointments to attend to." I informed High Priestess Agnesia.
"No worries, but let me know when you will change your mind." Agnesia smiled and she was confident in her predictions.
I could only shake my head about how ridiculous this conversation was.
Before I was about to leave I stopped and asked one last question.
"If Moon Goddess made sure that wolves will meet their destined soulmates but why does one reject the destined soulmate they received?" I asked Agnesia.
"If there is no way to reject a soulmate, some people will take the gift for granted. Moon Goddess made the bonds to be delicate so werewolves could learn to cherish it." She recited the answer as someone who studied religion in detail.
"What about sirens?" I questioned. The mating bond works the opposite, unlike werewolves. Once they imprint there is no way of getting out of the mating bond, but sirens also have a choice to choose the soulmate they want to spend their life with.

"Sirens have a different god. Who believes that one must face challenges first before settling with another." She explained.
At that point, I didn't answer and just left the room. Perhaps it's worth taking a look at the Moon Goddess testament that I always avoided and despised.
After the appointment, I was a little tired but I and Kai became happier when we could see the baby on our ultrasound. The baby was about 2-3 months old at that time it was hard to determine the baby's gender since the baby was in an awkward position where it was hard to see its genitals.
Now at least I have prenatal vitamins.
"Would you like to have chamomile tea? " Kai asked me affectionately and I just nodded. I saw that assistant came rushing to us and I had a feeling that I wouldn't be able to get an evening rest.
"The participant Angela Moore requested to meet you, Princess Evelyn." My assistant informed me.
"Looks like everyone wants to make connections with you, my dear," Kai commented.
"Is she waiting for me ?" I asked my assistant.
"Yes, she wanted to meet you so she didn't mind waiting for you until you were available." my assistant explained.
"Alright, tell her that I will come in five minutes."
I went in front of the mirror to fix my clothes. Then Kai hugged me from behind.
"Maybe you should have asked her to come again tomorrow? I just want you to get a good rest." Kai whispered as he put his chin on my shoulder. I smiled and gently caressed his face.
"It's alright I'll just go and see what you want to discuss with me and then I will be done for today," I said to Kai before kissing him on the cheek.
"Alright, just don't take too long," Kai told me as he kissed me on the temple.
I asked my assistant to lead me to the room where Angela was waiting for me. As far I remember Angela comes from a traditional pack. The pack that supports the church and is greatly supportive of the idea of finding your soulmate and settling down with them.
She is also one of the promising candidates for the Queen.
"I heard that you've been waiting quite a long time for me. It's getting late and I hope you will get straight to the point." I told Angela as I sat down on the soft chair.
Angela had short blonde curly hair and blue eyes. She looked very angelic as someone who comes from a traditional pack.
"I-i want to seek your support in the selections," Angela explained. The day is becoming more and more interesting.
"My support?" I asked curiously.
"The judges have already taken sides on who they are going to support except for you Princess Evelyn and Alpha Ryan who expressed his wishes to remain neutral," Angela explained to me.
So the real battle for the Queen's throne has begun?
"Then which participants are supported by judges Margeret and Kimberly?" I asked Angela.
"Kimberly of course wants her sister to become the Queen and Margeret wants Naomi to become the Queen but also judge Kimberly and Margaret reached alliance since they are both left parties," Angela explained and I looked out the window.
The left party is the one who started the trend of rejecting the soulmate to choose a partner that would match the status in hopes that their offspring would have better resources. Though the left party tends to be more controversial than the traditional party.
"Do I seem to support the traditional party?" I asked Angela in amusement. I never expressed my stance on Werewolves politics since I'm a Naulorian Princess and I should be more concerned for Nauloria.
"No, your highness. I'm not aware of your political stance." Angela timidly replied.
I said something as I was looking at the window to see that some stars were forming.
"If you want my support then I'm curious what you are willing to offer?" I asked Angelina. If I had to take a side then I don't want to help someone for free.
"In case of failure my pack is willing to open connections with Nauloria, If I were to become a Queen then not only I will welcome more delegates from Nauloria but I will be willing to do other favors." The offer is quite good since if we fail Angela's pack occupies quite a good territory in Canada and I've heard they also occupy the mines.
"Alright, I will tell you my decision tomorrow. You should also need to go and rest since you will need energy for the competition." I told Angela and left the room.
I guess for today I have a lot to think about.
