The month has passed since Empress Vivienne visited the Valencia household. Now the official date of the wedding has been decided.

Everyone went into wedding planning mode.

The famous wedding dress designer, a famous interior designer, wedding and event planner, and caterers that would be in charge of catering during the engagement party has visited me.

Not only that, I've been taking dancing and etiquette lessons so the people would see me as a graceful princess, but I was also learning more about Nauloria. Although I have to admit, I enjoy learning about Nauloria's history more than repeating etiquette lessons.

"So Lady Evelyn, according to the guest list, you'll be having 100 guests, am I correct?" The event planner is in charge of the engagement party. The engagement party will start in 3 days.

Since my grandmother, my mother, my aunts, and Lila are busy. I'm in charge of showing the event planner around and answering all the questions.

"Yes, Valencia is a big household, so not only our entire family will be invited, there will be friends of our family. Also, the King and Queen with the 7th Prince's family will be attending. It's really important to show importance to the Mediterranean royal family." I explained to the event planner.

Since the wedding date has been set, and we have an upcoming engagement party. The media were going crazy about it, writing about the dress I would wear or which the popular socialites we have invited.

"All right, I'm going to speak with my assistant about the preparations." The event planner spoke as she walked to the assistant that is memorizing who and where the person was going to sit.

I was just looked at the workers who are carrying the tables into the ballroom and trying to move correctly as was instructed in the blueprint.

I was about to daydream, but I've felt a presence that was purposely trying to approach me from my back. I quickly turned just to be met with a pair of different colored eyes.

Kai sheepishly smiled, since the surprise was now ruined. As always, he always dressed up he wore a black dress shirt, black jacket, and black trousers. I will not lie it does suit him.

I didn't expect him to arrive today; he was supposed to arrive tomorrow.

"You know I could have attacked you on the premise of self-defense?" I asked him. In the pack, I've been taking combat lessons that made me careful of people who are approaching from the back.

"Oh, I hope you wouldn't. Aren't you happy to see me right now?" Kai answered, and indeed I was happy to see him.

We would often text with each other and if Kai travels to the closer time zone, we would video call. Though before we began video calling this Kai, who is about 200 years old, faced some challenges at first but luckily sirens are more adaptable to the technologies than vampires. Other than that, I always wondered which flower company Kai placed an order in since I have always been getting flowers each day for the past month.

The last time Kai visited me was before the Empress' visit.

"Of course I'm glad to see you. I just didn't expect you to be here today." I answered truthfully.

"By the way, will you be staying here or at the hotel? I can ask the butler to prepare a guestroom." I asked Kai. He is probably staying at the hotel, but I still think he might need a room when he will be tired after the engagement party.

"But you are my fiancee shouldn't you be offering to stay in your room?" Kai suggestively joked, but I tried not to choke.

"I don't think you deserve that privilege looking at how often you come here," I answered jokingly he only hummed in sadness while he made the puppy eyes but then we just both laughed.

Little by little, we are getting along very well but I'm not sure if I'm prepared to share a bed with him but during the video call he said that he will respect my boundaries before and after the wedding which I was relieved to hear.

"But to answer your question, I stumbled upon the butler and he already gave orders to the staff to prepare the room," Kai answered, and I nodded.

"By the way, are you currently busy?" Kai asked as he looked at the workers that are decorating the ballroom.

"Not really. Why do you ask?" I asked Kai with curiosity.

"Then can you spare me some of your time? I have a surprise that I want to show you." Kai grinned.

I nodded and Kai gently took my hand and took me to the drawing-room so we could be alone and away from people. In the drawing-room, there are already two purple velvet boxes tied with the bow sitting on the table. One velvet box is a little bigger, and the other is smaller I guess those boxes contain jewelry.

I guess Kai arrived much earlier than I expected.

"You should open the bigger box first," Kai suggested I nodded, and I took the bigger box and I carefully untied the bow.

Then I carefully opened the box.

In the first box, there was a pearl necklace that was beautifully decorated with teardrop diamonds. The design was simplistic but on the person, it will look very elegant.

"Usually I'm not a fan of jewelry since I tend to be picky with the design, but I think this necklace is beautifully designed." I gave my feedback when I carefully examined the necklace's design.

"I'm glad that you liked the necklace, since I was unsure about it. Would like me to help put it on you?" Kai asked, and I nodded with a smile.

I carefully lifted my braid as he was helping to put the necklace on me. Once he clasped the necklace and I let go of my braid.

Interestingly enough, it goes along with my outfit since today I wanted to wear a light-colored outfit.

"It's looking very beautiful on you." Kai complimented me, and I tried not to blush.

"Now it's time to open the small box. I hope you will like this box because it contains the engagement ring."

The engagement ring? This time I was really curious because this ring I would have to wear every day.

When I opened the ring box. The round diamond that contained a reflection of blue and pink greeted me. No, it wasn't a diamond; it was a beautifully crafted opal. I only hope that the band was made of white gold but it perfectly crafted band a like tree branch with flowers that hold the opal ball.

"Oh, it's beautiful! Is that an opal?" I asked Kai, and he nodded with the confirmation.

Since sirens adopted, giving the diamond rings to their partners, it was unusual to give an opal ring.

"I'm glad that you love the ring because I hoped that you would like this ring," Kai said in relief.

I gently touched the band to make sure that the band was made of white gold and not silver. Since the ring didn't sting and didn't give pink rash to my finger, I confidently put the ring on my ring finger.

"Seriously, where did you find the ring? " I asked Kai curiously because I couldn't believe that this beautiful ring is my engagement ring.

"It's was made by a famous jewelry artisan," Kai answered with a smile he was happy that I like the engagement ring that he gave me.

"Though, I apologize only you giving you two gifts since I planned to give you more." I turned my head when he said that.

"You planned to give me more?" I asked with curiosity. I think those gifts were enough and I didn't expect him to give you more presents.

"Your other gifts will be waiting for you in the Naulorian Empire. There are so many gifts I want to give it's was better that they would be there so it's would cause logistical issues when you will be moving to Naulorian Empire." Kai explained.

I raised eyebrows. That many presents?

"Is it necessary? our marriage will be temporarily only" I reminded Kai.

"The time duration of the wedding will be determined after we will complete the blood bond," Kai explained.

"Blood bond?" I questioned Kai.

I never heard about blood bonds before.

"It's really important for the royals to either mark their companion or do a blood bond ceremony since the bond gives assurance that none of us will betray each other," Kai explained more.

As he said it does make sense because a lot of royal families require that their future spouse be imprinted. Or else there wouldn't be a wedding.

It seems that the perfect alternative is the blood bond.

"What if the blood bond would last like 2 weeks?" I asked Kai but Kai shooked his head.

"The blood would at least will last a year but there can be instances that it could last 2 or 3 years," Kai said and I nodded.

So there is a chance that our marriage could be more than 3 years. The notion of the blood bond was interesting but Kai's voice interrupted my thoughts.

"Also I made a reservation in the restaurant so we could both have dinner together," Kai informed.

"Ah, you planned the occasion to show for me to show the engagement ring?" I teased Kai.

"Well, of course!" Kai grinned and held out his hand like a gentleman.

We both went on the date once I delegated the task to Lila after she came back.
