Aztec's Pov:

I groaned, papers were scattered all over my desk. My thoughts ran over to what Jax told me about the unknown scent. Ever since he had told me about the unknown scent of a rouge around the territory everyone had been extremely on edge. Especially me.

Flint has been on edge ever since then too and it has been driving me crazy. He has been pacing back in forth in my head for the past three hours and if he wasn't in my head I would have knocked him out.

Flint! Quit moving!

What do you mean?

I sighed and stood up from the chair in my office and walked out, taking deep breaths trying to also calm down.

"Hey Aztec?" Jax called walking up to me, "What's wrong?" He asked, I gritted my teeth together.

"Not now." I muttered coldly and left him standing there alone confused, but at the current moment I didn't care what my best friend thought about my attitude towards him.

I continued walking through the pack house until I reached the front door, my mind was a mess as Flint's thoughts and my own merged into one causing my anger to boil even more.

I opened the door and ran into the woods, staying in my human form I just ran trying to figure out why the heck our emotions were going haywire at the moment. People moved out of the way as I ran.

I ran into the woods, the trees providing a perfect breeze for my racing mind. I honestly don't even know what I'm mad at but I need to cool down.

Jax caught up with my pace and I just rolled my eyes at his concerned and confused expression "What about 'Not now' do you not understand?" I growled.

Jax smirked "Well I'm sorry Aztec, is it wrong to want to know why my Alpha is being even crankier than normal?" He asked with a teasing tone.

If he wasn't my best friend he would have been punched in the face for saying that, but since he was I was being nice. Just this once.

I scoffed "I am not angry all the time" I muttered as I slowed down to a halt, Jax doing the same as I did. He stared at me with doubtful eyes, then gestured to my hands.

I rolled my eyes and looked at my hands, both hands were clenched into tight fists "That's just once" I scoffed, folding my arms over my chest.

"Aztec who are you lying to?" Jax muttered sarcastically, "So what's got you so riled up today?" He asked.

I bit my lip trying to think of a reasonable answer but nothing came to mind "Honestly... I have no idea, lately Flint and I have been more short tempered than before"

Jax scoffed "That's no surprise, the entire pack is literally afraid to come to you, let alone ask any questions. Even Liz, and she's supposed to be your mate."

I noticed him visibly wince at mentioning that "I guess that explains the reason everyone has been extremely cautious around me these past couple days." I sighed and rested a hand on his shoulder.

I know he loves Elizabeth, I mean he's her mate. I don't know how he deals with it, but to be fair we've all just grown so used to it. "Once I actually find my mate everything will be different" I said rather calmly, despite my thoughts.

Jax smiled lightly "Yeah your right," he moved his shoulder from underneath my hand and leaned against a tree.

"Also, no kidding. You are literally a ticking time bomb that acts like it's going to explode at any moment" Jax chuckled, "But I'm used to your childish anger issues but the pack apparently still can't get over that."

I smiled lightly, my mind calming down a bit. "Hey why don't we go down the village and check out the rouge population? See how they're doing?" Jax suggested.

I clenched my fists, then relaxed them "As much as I don't want to, we have to check out how they're doing, and if they're following the rules we've put them for."

Jax nodded in reply, "We driving or are we running there?" He asked tilting his head to the side in question.

"Running." I answered, "Flint and I need to calm down before we have every single rouge submitting to us."

Jax smirked and tapped my shoulder "Beat you there Alpha." He said and ran off.

Oh it's so on.

We got there pretty quickly, I beat Jax easily and now he was currently pouting like a pup.

'Alpha! There's a new rouge in our territory!' One of the warriors mind-linked me.

I tensed and Jax saw it, "What happened?" He asked but I completely ignored him, new rouges were rare especially in my territory and I wasn't about to leave this one unchecked.

'Where?' I mind-linked back, Jax looked at me and shut up already knowing why I was acting like this.

'The Marnon Cafe' The warrior said. I nodded and looked at Jax "We're going to the Marnon Cafe" I muttered.

When we finally got to the cafe and entered my senses were overwhelmed with an amazing scent, the scent of fresh lilacs and birch trees overwhelmed my scent.

Everything faded around me, all I could do was stare at the girl before me in awe. It sent Flint jumping around in my head like crazy. Shasta was standing next to a girl.

She had soft brown hair cascading down to her forearm. Soft brown eyes stared at me in shock and I was mesmerized by her.

All I could hear Flint saying was.

Shasta held a smirk on her face, like she had just won a battle. Once I slightly recovered from the overwhelming scent, I just stared at the girl.

I mentally cringed, her aura was faint and weak.

it's that of an Omega.

I gritted my teeth together, my thoughts were swirling as I tried to process what was going on.

I couldn't have a mate that was an Omega.

Flint snarled in my head, I pushed him out of my thoughts and stalked up to her "Who are you?" I growled softly.

I smirked seeing as people and my pack mates bowed their heads to me in submission as I spread out my aura.

My eyes widened, the girl just stood there looking unfazed, whilst everyone around us was bowing their heads.

I gritted my teeth together once again, I clenched my fists together. It had to be the mate bond, but I wasn't about to let my mate slide.

She was a rouge in my territory, and she was going to submit to me, no matter what.

The girl smirked and I was taken aback. She didn't even look remotely intimated. She walked closer to me and brushed her hand against my clenched fists.

My hand automatically relaxed feeling a burning sensation in my body.

"Not going to work Alpha" The girl whispered with a sweet but venomous tone her voice, her eyes looked mine dead in the eyes.

She scoffed and pushed passed me. I stood there in shock, along with the others who were in the coffee shop.

Impossible. No mere Omega could ever withstand that much Aura from an Alpha.
