I called Kodi's phone as I stood outside waiting on her while smoking.

"Hello!?"

"I'm outside."

"Okay here I come."

"Aight."I responded before hanging up.

My driver stood outside of my Wraith waiting on her.

I heard the door close along with her heels clacking.

When I saw her I smiled.

I know y'all probably thinking that I'm doing all of this just to get her up under me and get her to fall back into my arms and I am but I'm not at the same time.

Since I've been getting my shit together and still working on myself, I ain't trynna rush shit but I am trynna make it harder for the next.

She's the mother of my kids I'll be damned if I miss out on this opportunity to get her back and another nigga gets her.

With that being said ima continue to move slow and focus on myself until I'm for sure ready to be the best father and "boyfriend" that I can be.

I put my blunt out before going up to her.

"You look good."

"Thank you. You want a hug?"she raised her eyebrows.

"If I wanted one I would've gotten it, you ready?"

"Alexander don't play with me, give me a hug!"she said while grabbing my hand.

"I'm just fucking with you."I said while pulling her into a hug.

"Now get back, let's go."she pushed me back before going to get in the car.

I followed behind her and once my driver got inside and drove us to AG, a restaurant located in The Ritz Carlton hotel.

In less than thirty minutes we pulled up to the restaurant.

My driver let us out in front of the restaurant and we headed inside.

"Good evening, may I have the name on the reservation?"

"Alexander Woods."

"Okay, I'll take you to your table."she said and we followed her.

When we got to the table, I pulled Kodi's chair from underneath the table for her.

"Thank you."she said while sitting and scooting up.

"Here are your menu's, a waiter will be with you shortly."the hostess said while sitting the menus down.

I sat down and scooted up to the table.

"Is this your first time coming here?"I asked her.

"Nope."

"Oh really? I thought you was the Applebee's, IHOP, Breakfastclub type."I said and she chuckled before flicking me off.

"Whatever ole Waffle House, McDonald's, Wendy's, bottom of the barrel eating ass nigga."she said and I started laughing.

"That's not funny, you just tried me."she chuckled.

"Aight so when they waiter brings the che—"

"Ima walk out on yo ass."she said and I chuckled.

"You gone find another ride home too right?"

"That's not a problem."she said while shrugging.

The waiter walked up and got our drink orders.

"Can I have the Pineapple Mojito with a glass of water on the side."Kodi said.

"Yes ma'am and for you sir?"

"Homemade Sweet Peach Iced Tea please."

"Are we looking to try an appetizer tonight?"

"Yes ma'am Ms. Sarah, I don't know about him but I'd like your Seasonal Oysters, please."

"I think I have a better idea for the both of you, do you eat seafood?"she asked Scarr.

"He does."Kodi said and I nodded.

"What kind?"

"I fuck with the crab legs, a lil bit of crawfish and scrimp here and there, yeah."I said and Kodi laughed.

"Okay well since you wanted oyster and since you are a seafood guy, how about we consider the Seafood Tower? It comes with six King Crab Legs, eighteen Shrimp, twenty oysters, and teen mussels."she said and I looked at the menu.

"That's ninety five dollars?"I asked her.

"Yeah I know it's kind of pricey but it's worth it, it'll keep you busy until your actual meal comes out."

"You want that?"I yawned while looking at Kodi who was smiling and nodding.

"Aight Seafood Tower it is, thank you."I nodded and she walked off to go get our drinks.

"This what you was doing while I was patiently waiting on you?"I asked her as I showed her the video of herself doing a TikTok.

"Yep. I killed that shit didn't I?"she asked me and I nodded while chuckling.

"Could've been a lil more on beat but you ate."I nodded.

"'Could've been a lil more on beat' you're a fucking hater."she said and I chuckled.

"Which one of our crumbsnatchers taught you that?"

"Sevyn and Sarai."she said and I started laughing.

"Yeah they most definitely get that no rhythm shit from you."I said and she laughed.

"You are a fucking hater real talk."she said.

"Okay here are your drinks."Sarah walked up to the table and said.

"'Preciate it."

"Thanks."

"I have a question, are you all married?"she asked us.

"Girl no, I don't want this man."Kodi said and I smirked at her.

"No!???"Sarah exclaimed and Kodi started laughing.

"You think I want him, no ma'am."she shook her head no.

"Well if you don't I'll take him and you, you both are very beautiful."she said.

"Oh why thank you but this is my ex-husband."Kodi said and I started laughing.

"Ex-husband wowwww you two make a great couple."she said and we nodded.

"'Preciate it."I said.

"So do you have any kids?"

"Yes we share four actually."Kodi said and I could tell she was getting annoyed.

"Wowww!!! Well I hope you two can find it in your hearts to bring the relationship back."

"I hope so too."Kodi said while looking at me and nodding.

"Okay I'll be right back with your seafood tower."

"You 'hope' we can bring our relationship back!? Why not 'we can' or 'we will?' Look I'm trynna change, not only my bad ways but I'm trynna form new better habits. I'm trynna do anything in my power to get us back to where we were. All I need you to do is to trust in me and wait on me."I said to Kodi since she had this look on her face.

"Alexander I- I just don't want us to go back down the same road, that's all. I understand that you're changing and you're trying to better yourself but four years ago that's what I thought you had already did. After three more children and after vowing that you'd love me through sickness and all, you still went out and did what you did, 'changed man' and all. I still have Lupus and I still have my highs and lows so who's to say that you won't do what you did again!?"

"Listen after all of these years I've finally came to realize that I fucked up. I fucked up our family, I fucked up our marriage, I fucked up what we had, and most of all I fucked up the trust that you had in me. I've seen you with another nigga, I've seen you without a nigga, and I've seen you with niggas who've fucked up their chance with you. Why would I return only to fuck up again!?"

"I don't know you tell me."she shrugged while looking away and wiping her tears.

I stood up and walked around the table to her.

"Come here."I said while tapping her arm.

She stood up and I hugged her.

"I love you Kodi and I'll forever love you. If I wasn't ready to finally settle down and stop fucking up, I wouldn't be here right now telling you this. I'm sorry, I was wrong and I regret every bit of what I did and the pain that it caused you . Like I said before, many times actually, I'm going to therapy so I can understand myself and why I acted the way I did so that it never happens again. I'm also willing to only put forth respect when it comes to us and our relationship, I'm not here to hurt you K.O. I love you."

"I love you too Alex and I've found it in my heart to forgive you but the- the trust just isn't there anymore. I think it's best if we just wait this shit out for a while then maybe we can make our way back into a relationship. It's really just gonna take some time, a lot of time. I just got out of a four year relationship so not only do you need to get yourself together but I also need to get myself together."

"That's cool and you have every right to feel the way that you feel, I truly understand. Just know that I love you though and I'm here whenever you need me."I said and she nodded.

Once we sat back down, the waitress was back with the seafood tower and ready to take our orders.

Since we didn't have enough time to go over the menu, we just picked something simple.
