I grabbed my phone, grabbed my backpack, and tucked my tool before heading downstairs where everybody else were.

"Good morning."I said and everybody turned to look at me.

"Good morning baby."Kodi said while getting up and going to the kitchen.

Heaven was doing a TikTok so I hopped into her video and started dancing.

"Mmcht. Daddy!"she yelled while looking back at me with a mug on her face.

"What!? I can't get ya video and show off my moves?"

"You can barely dance."she said while rolling her eyes and I thumped her on her forehead.

"Ouch!!!"

"Don't roll your eyes at me again lil girl."I said before going over to Malakai.

He was eating at the table.

"Wassup son!! What you eating!?"

"Food."he said while looking up at me with them big ass glasses attached to his little ass head.

"What kind of food? What's this here, you got a lot going on."I said while pointing at all of the plates he had.

"Okay I have strawberry banana avocado toast here, eggs with syrup, peanut butter pancakes here, chocolate honey dew here, and a sausage and bacon shiskobob right here."

"You can eat all of that without your front teeth?"I asked him and Kodi laughed.

"Leave my baby alone!!"she said and I was about to walk away but he punched me right in my shit.

"Oh shit!!"I yelled while bending down and falling on the floor.

"That's right baby, he does not have the right to talk shit about you. Next time go for the face though, daddy has to use those."Kodi said and I laughed while rolling over on my back.

As I was laying there I felt somebody come over here and stand over me.

I opened my eyes seeing Sevyn.

"You gone help me up?"I asked him but he sat on my face.

"Daddy is that a real gun?"I heard and I instantly picked Sevyn up and got up.

"What's that!?"I heard again and I turned around seeing the pound of weed and brick of cocaine that had fell out of my backpack.

"Alexander!"Kodi yelled and I hurried up and picked it all up and put it in my backpack.

"What is that?"Kai asked me.

"Plants and snow."I said and he furrowed his eyebrows.

"How is that snow if—"

"Eat your food Malakai, Heaven watch the twins, and you, meet me in the room."Kodi said before walking off to our bedroom.

I headed to the room behind her and when I got in there I closed the door.

"Really!? I thought you were done with that shit a long time ago!?"she asked me.

"I honestly thought I was too."

"Are you fucking stupid!? We have a family now, do you know how dangerous it is for you to be bringing this in and out of the house that our kids live in?"

"I already know and everything is under control, ain't shit gone happen!"

"Wow. Okay so let's say that our kids are outside in the front yard playing then boom gunshots. Let's say that I'm leaving the office late, it's dark, and I'm alone then boom gunshots, or instead of gunshots chloroform on a towel to my nose."

I looked at her with a straight face.

"You think I'm stupid enough to put my family in danger? How long was I in the streets? What 'bout ten years? Who taught me everything I know? Your d—"I asked rhetorically before she cut me off.

"It doesn't fucking matter!! You're willing to risk your life over some bullshit that you don't even need!!? If you get locked up Alexander what the fuck am I gonna do, what am I supposed to tell our children!? If you get fucking killed, what the fuck are we gonna do!?"she cried.

I walked up to her and grabbed her hands.

"Move, don't fucking touch me!!!"she pushed me but I grabbed her by her waist.

"Look at me."I said while picking her chin up with my finger.

She grabbed my finger and pushed it back before looking behind me.

"Look at me Kodi!!"I spat while grabbing her jaw and making her look at me.

"You trust me?"I asked her as I stared into her eyes and let her go.

"Yes, I do but you're gonna make it hard for me to trust you."

"Okay so if you trust me why not believe me when I say that I got everything under control? I won't do anything to hurt, harm, or put either one of y'all in danger. It all may seem fucked up but it's not as fucked up as you think. I'm no—"

"I don't get though, why are you doing it!? You have everything you need and everything you want. You make more than enough money already doing what you're doing, why are you still in the streets!?"

"Can I be honest with you?"I asked her.

"Yeah if that's what you vowed to do."

"I can't get out."

"....You were never out?"she paused before asking me and I shook my head.

"Wow. I can't believe you Alexander."

"I know it's hard to believe but I promise I won't let it intervene with what we got going on. Look how far I've came out of eight years and ain't shit happened yet."

"Who's to say that something won't happen when you leave? Who's to say that somebody ain't already plotting against you? Who's to say that the feds aren't sitting outside of our house right now!?"

"They're not, just trust me!!"

"Okay."she said and I hugged her.

"Can you fix your face?"I asked her.

She sighed before giving me a slight smile.

"Come on now, you can do better than that."I said.

"I really can't."she said and I just stared into her eyes for about a minute before she started laughing.

"Get out of my face."she pushed me and I grabbed her again.

"Aight now I'm finna leave, I don't want you crying, upset, or none of that shit while I'm gone. You know what... I'm not even gone leave."I said while letting her go and taking my shoes off.

"Mmcht, no Scarr leave."

"Nah I'm good."I said while going to put my backpack back in my closet.

"Oh my gosh ima be good just go!!!"she exclaimed while following me.

"Nah now come in the living room with me and the kids, we finna watch a movie."I said while grabbing her and pulling her all the way to the living room.

"Movie time!!!"I yelled and Heaven immediately ran upstairs while Kai ran outside to the backyard with his rain boots on.

"Y'all hate it that bad!!!?"

"It's too early!!"Heaven yelled.

"Aight Welp I guess it's just gonna be us."I said while picking up both of the twins and sitting on the couch.

I kissed them both before kissing Kodi.

"What we watching?"I asked her.

"Joker."she said and I nodded before putting it on.

"Look at him."she said while pointing at Kai who was jumping in puddles of water.

"Shit at least he having fun."I said before pulling them closer to me and tuning into the movie.
