《The Cursed Prince》Chapter 24 - She Will Not Run Away In A Dress. Duh.

Emmelyn took the opportunity after Mars left to make a list of foods she liked. Apparently, she really had no other choice and had to stay in this castle until she gave birth to the three children. Fine. She just had to adapt.
With a wave of her hand, she ordered the servants to bring her a parchment and quill. However, it was only after she sat down with parchment and ink in front of her that Emmelyn realized she couldn't write because her right hand was still sore.
[Damn .. why did I turn stupid? I can't possibly write.]
Emmelyn was surprised at herself. Usually, she was very smart. But why did it seem like her brain refused to work this morning? She forgot that she couldn't use her right hand.
Then, how could she write the list of foods she liked?
Finally, she decided to come to the kitchen on her own and meet the cooks. Easier to just talk to them, right?
As soon as she stepped inside the kitchen that was located at the far end of the castle, several cooks who were chopping vegetables immediately came to greet her respectfully.
"Good morning, My Lady."
For a moment, Emmelyn was stunned. She used to go back and forth to this kitchen to get food for Prince Mars, and they never respected her, because she was just a lowly servant.
But ... now they were all very respectful. And ... it looked like they didn't recognize her.
Aha. Did this mean that nobody knew who she really was? This meant that yesterday when Emmelyn was detained by the guards for trying to kill Mars, the prince didn't tell anyone who she really was. Only the three bodyguards knew about her ...
Ahhh ... This made Emmelyn feel calmer. She would be ashamed if these servants and cooks found out that she was posing as a servant here for a month, before becoming the mother of the crown prince's future children.

The thought created a smile on Emmelyn's lips. She excitedly waved her hand and called the cooks to come over. Two men and a woman came to her and immediately listened to her words.
"The prince asked me to tell you all my favorite food," said the girl. The three of them nodded respectfully. "Can you read the list of food if I wrote them for you?"
They shook their heads in unison. Emmelyn sighed. She had guessed that none of these lowly servants could read. Luckily, she didn't bother writing down a list. It would have been a waste of time on her side.
"Alright .. then, how do you guys know how to make food that I like?" asked Emmelyn in a desperate tone. "I won't be able to teach you how to make them. I can't cook. I only know how to eat."
Emmelyn was better at using knives for knife-fighting than for cooking.
"My lady... it's okay. You just tell us what food do you like. We'll find out how to make them," said a fat male cook with oily face. Seeing this cook immediately reminded Emmelyn of a roasted pig. She was suddenly hungry.
"Hmm .. alright." Emmelyn took a chair and sat in the middle of the kitchen and told them the names of the dishes she liked. She mentioned one by one all the delicious food she had ever eaten in her life, including the typical Wintermere apple pie that her mother used to make.
Hmm ... just talking about all that good food made Emmelyn lick her lips.
After she finished, she asked the three cooks to make sure they understood everything she said. "Do you remember everything I told you?"
"Yes, My Lady. We do." They nodded with determined expressions. This impressed Emmelyn.

"Alright .. let's see if you guys will really be able to make the foods I like. I want the apple pie and pecan peanut cake, and roasted pig for dinner tonight."
The girl then came out of the kitchen and decided to take a walk around the castle.
As Mars had promised her, Emmelyn could do whatever she pleased while she was in the castle. Not a single soldier held her back.
However, as soon as the girl was about to step out of the gate ... Five guards appeared from nowhere and stopped her in her tracks.
Gosh .. It must mean that these guards had been shadowing her and made sure she wouldn't run away again.
Emmelyn remembered that she and Mars had signed an agreement that if she ran again she would be punished ...
Gulp. The punishment was to give birth to another child for every (failed) attempt to escape.
Crazy!
"Excuse me, My Lady. His Royal Highness Prince Mars said you can only exit this gate with his consent and if you are with him," said a soldier with a firm stance. "Please go back inside."
Emmelyn stomped her feet in annoyance then turned back to walk toward the castle.
Okay. She was just testing what kind of surveillance was being carried out on her. She was not that stupid to run away wearing a dress like this.

War of Seasons
Dorothea Atlin is the young, apathetic leader of the neutral territory of Sirpo, a chilly land hovering above the continuously warring factions of Sacer and Ghuria, whose devastating magics have ravaged their people and lands time and time again. Following a shocking attack and a cruel deception, Dorothea grows her conscience and takes up arms, using her self-destructive ability to manipulate the flow of time to ensure Sacer’s victory. Her growing understanding of war and the two factions is guided by Iree Nobelis, the determined and enthralling commander of Sacer’s forces, Ariana Kingfisher, a steely swordswoman of mixed Ghurian and Sacerian descent, and Rhys Tamlin, a kind but haunted soldier who goes to challenge Dorothea’s self-imposed celibacy and join her on a mutual journey of healing from the tragic legacies of the Atlin family and wars between the nations. Meanwhile, Dorothea’s only friend and deserter from the Sacerian military, Shark Olyen, returns to their homeland to face the family that disowned them and finds more than they bargained for in meeting Cerid Creed, a noble whose duty to his people clashes with his desires in romance and in life, much like Shark’s did long before. As their developing or preexisting loves and differing convictions on how to achieve peace create rifts between these major players, Dorothea experiences a personal revolution that leads her to fight for what she believes is right, no matter the cost. A slow-burn story that takes time setting up the psychology and motivations of characters for explosive payoff later down the line. Fated Nirvana || Completed ✅
The Fated Series. Book #1. "A single minute without her in my arms and it felt like a lifetime." - Mateo Ramos My name is Mateo Adam Ramos. I was born into a family who's bleed for their reputation, and built us into being one of the most dangerous families to exist. You hear my name... you run. I for one am determined to continue upholding that reputation because that's in my blood. But things are never that simple, are they? Feeling and emotions got involved, and everything I thought I knew, vanished the second I met her. A soft souled, beautiful brown eyed girl who gleams with goodness found her way into my life. I shouldn't have played the good samaritan, that was my fault. I don't want to know goodness, and yet I'm drawn in like it's the light to cure my sins. This goodness has a name, and a face of salvation and I for one know I shouldn't get involved. Guess what I do? I get involved. Because even if I don't want too that's not really how fate works, is it? You don't pick and choose fates plan, you get slammed with it and good luck to your poor soul. This is my story, the kind that was written years before I was even born, and now I'm living it. Watch me make a mess of it too, because after all, I wasn't born to follow. P.S. This book is technically #1, but I have a book before this one that's about their parents. You learn more, and get a clue about their parents and why they are the way they are. Some of the conversations in this book would make more sense by knowing the past. It's not as well written, but if you can get thought it, I promise you'll love this one even more. Of course if you rather start here, then you do you! It will make sense either way! I tired to fill in all the gaps without it getting overbearing. You can always hop back to the book before this after.
