《For The Sake Of》CHAPTER 6: Wedding Of The Decade

"So, what else is on my schedule?", I asked Josh who sat infront of me in my office.

"All your meetings for today are over now you have to go for your... wedding dress trial..."

I sighed, "Cancle that and schedule it on some other day."

"You have been rescheduling it for the past one week", he spoke sternly, "and the wedding is next week, Thera. You need to go today."

I rubbed my temples, saying, "I don't want to, Josh."

"Whether you want or not, you have to go. You can't turn up at your wedding in some jeans and shirt."

I put my head down on the table in frustration.

I never heard of Isaac again after he dropped me at my penthouse after we came back from his parent's house.

"Mr. Oliver, I order you to leave me alone", I said with my head still down.

"I am not going to listen to you this time, Thera. You are going to get your wedding dress TODAY."

I lifted my head, "I can fire you for this behaviour, Mr. Oliver."

"I don't care if you fire me but I can't see your hardwork getting destroyed by that so called fiancè of yours, so GET UP!", he scolded.

He stood up from the chair, walked over to me and grabbed my hand before he started dragging me.

Eventually, I got up and I had tears in my eyes.

"Why should I buy the dress? To get married to someone who doesn't even respects me a bit. He doesn't even considers me as his wife to be. For him, this is all just a game!", tears formed in the corner of my eyes.

Josh looked at me sympathetically.

Josh embraced me in a warm hug as I placed my head in the crook of his neck, crying.

"I don't want to marry him, Josh. Why can't he just merge the company without marrying me", I sobbed, "Save me...he will definitely kill me."

Josh rubbed small circles on my back, "I am sorry, Thera...but I can't do anything..."

"He won't kill you...you are important to him... without you this company is nothing and he knows it", he added.

I pulled back sniffing and wiped away my tears.

"I will tell the driver to get the car ready...come down in five minutes", he said softly and I nodded.

He went away and I walked to the washroom attached to my office and washed my face.

I looked at my reflection in the mirror and saw the vulnerable side of myself, a side which I left years ago. This is not who I am, I am stronger than this, I don't give up this easily, never.

I am gonna show that asshole that I can be strong enough to marry him, strong enough to sacrifice my life to him just for the sake of my company.

I reapplied my nude lipstick and walked out of my office.

As I got into the elevator, my phone rang and I saw Nyle's caller ID flashing. Smiling I picked it up.

"Hello, Mr. Morgan."

"Hi there, Thera", he greeted back, "I was thinking if we could meet..."

"Well, actually I am going to try my wedding dress...I will message you the address, we can meet there only."

"Oh, good. Who else will be there?"

"Just my best friend, a.k.a my assistant."

"Nice, I'll see you there", he spoke before hanging up.

I reached the ground floor and walked out through the main door of the building and saw Josh already standing there near the car.

I got inside the car while he sat beside me and the driver started the engine.

"Nyle Morgan is also coming there", I told him.

"The CEO of the Morgan Enterprises?"

"Yup."

Nyle was also the CEO of his company and even a billionaire...I was just stupid to not recognise him when we first met but thankfully he was not offended.

Our industries were different that's why I was not familiar with him.

Soon, we reached the store which was designing my dress and stepping out of the car, I saw Nyle already there leaning against his car.

"Were you waiting for long?", I asked him giving him a side hug.

"Nah. Just reached here a minute ago."

Josh walked upto us and stood beside me and I introduced both of them and they shook hands.

"So, let's go and try that goddamn dress", I said making them chuckle and we all went inside.

I greeted the shop owner and she told us to wait for a few minute and we all sat on the sofa.

After five minutes of waiting, she called me to try the dress. I went inside the dressing room and with the help of helper, I wore the dress.

The owner looked at me carefully making sure that the dress fitted me perfectly. And believe me it hugged my body perfectly.

I decided to show the dress to both Nyle and Josh even so, wearing the dress, I carefully walked out.

They both were sitting at the same place, chatting and I cleared my throat to catch their attention.

Their head turned towards me simultaneously and believe me, thier jaws dropped.

Well, Nyle's jaw was wide open and Josh elbowed him, gesturing him to close his mouth.

I blushed at their reaction.

"Oh My God, Thera...you are looking... outstanding!", Nyle exclaimed making me blush harder.

"Yes...you are looking gorgeous", Josh added.

"Thank you", I said smiling shyly.

I ran my hand over my wedding dress as I stood infront of it in a bathing gown.

Today was the wedding, the wedding of the decade.

I can't believe that this is happening, not that I am happy about it. But from today, right after getting married, our companies are going to merge...it will be 'Mallay and Grayson Industries'.

Isaac wanted it to be Grayson and Mallay Industries but I somehow managed to convince him and therefore, it has my name first.

"Ma'am?", the makeup artist spoke bringing me out of my thoughts, "should we start?"

I nodded slowly and sat on the chair infront of the mirror as she started with the makeup.

I called the artists at my penthouse only so that I could be comfortable for a few hours.

The wedding was in the evening and I was getting nervous with every passing minute.

After an hour, my makeup was done and the artist asked me to wear the dress.

Wearing the dress, I stood infront of the full length mirror and stared at my reflection. How I wish this marriage was not fake...I was looking beautiful to be honest.

I twirled around eyeing myself nicely and the door opened as Josh walked in.

"Are you...", he trailed off as his eyes fell on me.

"You are looking more beautiful with the makeup", he complimented.

I smiled in response.

Josh is supposed to walk me down the aisle. My parents are not here but I had him. He and I are like siblings and he, himself suggested to walk me down the aisle and I happily agreed.

He looked cute in his navy blue suit and his spectacles.

Once again my eyes started to water and seeing this he said, "Remember..."

"You can do this", we both spoke together and chuckled.

That's the thing I love about him the most, he is very encouraging.

He kissed my forehead and held my hand before he guided me to the car.

Reaching the venue, I was spellbound looking at the decorations...it was Isaac's choice because he told me that I just need to buy the dress while the rest he will manage.

I stood beside Josh before he hooked my arm with his and giving me one last encouraging smile we both started walking down the aisle.

The path on which I was walking was covered with white rose petals and it looked beautiful.

I saw Nyle standing beside Isaac, looking handsome and then I finally saw him.

He wore a black tuxedo, looking devilishly handsome.

He was looking at me with a look that was cold, his look was as if he can't wait to kill me and I shivered at this thought.

Reaching Isaac, I saw Nyle wink at me and a small smile graced my lips.

Josh slowly gave my hand to Isaac, who held it firmly making me feel some tingling sensation on the contact.

He made me stand opposite to him before the priest started speaking and I zoned out.

Isaac seemed zoned out too though he was staring at me and I had to lower my head.

Then the priest turned towards him and said, "Do you Isaac Grayson take Thera Mallay to be your wife. To have and hold. From this day forward, For better or worse, For richer or poorer, In sickness and in health. To love and to cherish, Till death do you apart?"

No he didn't mean all that, he could never.

"I do", he spoke with an emotionless face. And I felt like crying.

The priest then repeated the same thing to me, "Do you Thera Mallay take Isaac Grayson to be your husband. To have and hold. From this day forward, For better or worse, For richer or poorer, In sickness and in health. To love and to cherish, Till death do you apart?"

No. I wanted to scream but then I glanced at Josh who was giving me an encouraging look and then I glanced at Isaac's parents looked so happy and

at last I looked at Isaac who gave me a look that said, "Dare you do anything stupid."

"I do", I finally said sealing my fate forever.

A satisfied smirk made its way to Isaac's lips.

The priest announced, "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."

Wait...what?!

Kiss?!

Oh, shit! Why didn't we discuss about this earlier?!

I looked at Isaac with a panicked look while he looked calm.

He took a step towards me, leaning down and my breath hitched.

Will he really kiss me? I don't want my first kiss to be a mere formality.

He leaned in closer and finally placed his lips at the corner of my lips. The same way I kissed Josh the other day.

To the crowd it looked that we actually kissed but in reality we didn't. And the crowd cheered and applauded.

He let his lips linger there for a second before finally pulling apart and I released my breath that I didn't realise I was holding.

Yay, I am married! I mentally rolled my eyes at that thought.

We were on our way to Isaac's house. The wedding ended and I was extremely exhausted.

I swear that if is house is not good enough then I am coming back to live at my penthouse...but these thoughts vanished the moment I stepped out of the car and stood infront of his house.

Holy shit! This house was amazing, why did I never come across it, I would have definitely bought it even though I haven't seen it from inside yet.

Isaac started walking towards the house completely ignoring me and I followed him.

The inside was equally beautiful. I have to agree that he at least has a good taste.

Isaac didn't speak anything and started walking upstairs and I had no other option than to follow him.

Reaching upstairs, he stopped infront of a door and finally said to me, "This is your room." That's it, that was all he said before I watched him go towards another door that was besides mine and he went inside his bedroom (I assumed).
