"I don't understand what the problem is?" Chris exclaims, throwing his hands up in the air as he paces our apartment.

I messed up, I really did.

When Chris got down on one knee, the only thing I could think about was the fact that he was leaving me.

He's leaving me already, I just got him and he's slipping from my fingers.

"You ran away from me! In the middle of the movie premiere, why the hell would you do that?" he stress, he walks and stands inches from my face.

Tears fall down my cheeks as I try to calm my heart rate.

"You're leaving me already."

Chris frowns and rolls up the sleeves of his dress shirt to his elbows, "I thought you would understand that this is my job-" Before he can continue further I interrupt, my voice firm. "How long ago did you get this job?"

A regretful expression clouds his face as I take a step back, "How long ago?"

"The last filming day of Endlessly I got the call."

My heart feels like it's being stabbed multiple times, I'm not hurt that he's got another acting job.

I'm heartbroken that he's kept this for two-and-a-half months and didn't tell me.

"Say something, let me know what's going on in your head," he pleads, grabbing my face in his enormous hands, he forces me to meet his gaze when I try to move my head away.

"You know why I'm mad?" I pause and grit out, "You kept this from me for months!"

"I didn't want you not to date me because I was going to Italy." He pauses and mumbles under his breath,

"Italy!" I exclaim, pushing his body away from mine, creating some distance.

"That wasn't supposed to come out so suddenly like that," he mumbles disappointed in himself.

"How long?"

My heated gaze meets his regretful one. My heart falls to the pit of my stomach as I see how my reaction is hurting Chris. I know I'm overreacting, but I'm tired of secrets and lies.

"Six months or even more."

I know that leaving will only cause more problems, but I need to go before I say something that I'll regret.

Scoffing, I back up against the door and twist the doorknob. Chris quickly sees my plan of escaping and advances towards me fast and tries to catch me.

Slamming the door behind me, I run into the elevator and click the button that closes the doors multiple times. My nerves pick up as I see Chris advancing towards the now closing doors faster. He picks up his pace and yells my name once the door closes in his face.

He looks heartbroken, and I'm the one who's caused his pain.

I flinch as I hear a bang come up from above... that's going to hurt later.

Picking up my dress from the floor with my hands, I run to my car and quickly drive out of the parking lot. Tears stream down my face as I spot Chris run out the building doors and look around frantically for me.

I cry into my hand as I drive to the only person in the world who wouldn't leave me.

Inserting the key that Mark gave me, I push open his apartment door and call out to him.

"In here," he calls back. I follow his voice and find him sitting at his kitchen table working on his laptop.

"Munchkin, what's wrong?" he asks, concerned as he sees my tear-stained face.

His hands wheel his wheelchair back and pushes it forward to where I stand defeated.

Grabbing my hips, he pulls me onto his lap in a brotherly way and pats my back as sobs rack my body.

"He's leaving me already." I mumble against his chest. His hands stop the motions on my back, with his other hand he pulls my chin up, looking sadly in my eyes. "He broke up with you?"

I shake my head and sniffle, "No he didn't he's going to Italy for six months."

He laughs and raises a brow, 'Than what's the problem?"

I jump off his lap and scrunch my face up at him, "The problem is he's known for two-and-a-half months now and just told me before proposing!"

"He proposed to you," he exclaims, throwing his hands up in the air.

Didn't he just hear what I said?

Men...

"That's not the point," I let out a groan and fall back onto the leather couch.

"Then tell me what has you so upset munchkin, I can't read your mind."

Staring up at the ceiling, I blink my eyes several times trying to control my tears. "I feel everyone in my life leaves me. Mark, I just got him. What if he doesn't come back, or he meets someone else? Not to mention he kept this from me."

Mark wheels himself over to me, he uses his arms to move his body up and sits on the couch next to me, "Honey that man only wants you, do you see the way he looks at you, my goal is getting a girl who looks at me like that."

"But he lied. And am I even ready to get married?" I stress getting up and pacing his apartment.

He lets out a laugh and slaps his hand on his knee, "You two already act like your married. And for the lying part, everyone makes mistakes. Give him a break."

"I left him," I state, stooping in my tracks and whipping around to face him, "I left him on one knee at the damn movie premiere. Then I left him at the apartment and came here, and I-I."

"Munchkin your phone is vibrating like crazy," he says, holding up my phone and showing me all Chris's calls and text messages. "You need to go back home and accept his proposal and marry the fuck out of him."

A bit harsh, but okay, however, that's exactly what I'm going to do.

***

Taking a deep breath, I grip the door handle and push the door open slowly and cautiously.

"Chris," I call out shakily in the quiet apartment, "Chris," I repeat, my voice getting louder.

"Lola," I hear him exclaim running out of the bedroom and pulling me into his arms.

"I'm so sorry I left you. It hurt me how you didn't tell me, but I understand now. I love you, but you can't keep secrets from me if you want to be in a marriage with me. I'm sorry for leaving you at the theatre and at the apartment." I breathe out in relief that Chris doesn't seem that mad at me.

He shakes his head that's placed in my shoulder and squeezes me tighter against his body, "I'm sorry I kept this from you, I love you and I'll never lie to you ever again."

Grabbing his face in my hands I give both of his cheeks a peck and wipe the tears that stream down his face, "Driving back here I realized that the only thing that makes me happy is you. I felt so heartbroken because I wanted nothing to break us apart. I love and I want to spend my entire life with you. I want our kids to have your glowing skin, and your eyes. You consume me. I say yes."

He pulls away, his eyes fill with happiness, a giant smile appears on his lips as he spins me around in a circle.

Placing my feet on the ground, he drops onto one knee, and slips the beautiful ring on my finger.

Damn, that diamond is big...

"Can we get married tomorrow?" he asks, I laugh and hit his chest as our lips connect.

Even though I ruined Chris's romantic proposal at the theatre.

This is perfect.

Us in our apartment, claiming the love we have for one another is perfectly imperfect just like us. I can't wait for the day that we both stand across from one another in the church and the priest unites us as one.

So tell me your thoughts...

I love this story guys, but there's probaly 3-4 chapter left. But don't worry there will be a book two! I have so many ideas, It's going to be epic!

I'm also going to write Endlessly, but I'm not sure when I'm going to post the first chapter.

Like I said before the past few days I've been struggling with writer's block, I would appreciate some motivation.
