A letter to me, a year ago -

it's ok. the way you feel, it's ok. the way he treated you isnt. i know you won't belive me. i understand that. but it's ok. you'll learn in time. he's not so right for you. not in the way you think. and letting him go may hurt but it's better. because later on, you'll love someone again. it won't be as much, because this is a newer love. a younger, happier love. one without the pain. without the mental torcher. and i know it'll be weird. but it's ok. it's a light love with a fluffy feel. your heart doesn't feel so heavy. you'll laugh and smile and you won't worry about what comes next, as much. it's ok to feel like this. it's ok to still regret the past and be angry at people. it's ok. it's ok for his stuff to be in the back of your closet (a yellow sweater, some dragon things, and a bunch of love letters between you), stuffed in a cardboard box. it's ok. it'll be a year and it'll still be there. just because you've moved on with someone else, doesn't mean it's wrong. it's ok to remember and still feel a little pain. you'll get rid of it when your ready. a year is a long time to be together. it's ok. you'll be just fine.
