I feel as if it’s a lie

that i have to hide behind

“be yourself” they say but

i feel like i can never say

that “i’m gay”

I can’t’ walk down the halls

without making myself build walls

walls that might break

with any little mistake

I want to break down these walls

I can hear those calls

I look through the cracks

there isn’t any going back

This is me coming out

Without any shadow of a doubt

i’m gay

there’s nothing you can say
